This book started out offering encouragement and humor to homeschool moms. Just a few short chapters in the author starts to begin references to her own discipline choices and alarm bells begin to sound for me. She has written a book geared to talk about God's grace in our lives but she is not showing grace to her children. She is saying that they need physical punishment as training....smh. No sorry she completely lost me here and then the parenting resources she uses to have been very helpful to her are horrid examples for anyone to look up to. Tripp, Ezzo and Pearls are in no way examples for anyone to use!!!!

I wish I could overlook the punitive references in this book and take away some positive but uncomfortably I can't. I could not bring myself to finish reading beyond chapter 5 as it just upsets me

I would buy this book for every mother I know if I could. I would read this book a little at a time in a loop, starting over as soon as I finished it if I can. This book ministered so much to me! I wanted to memorize it! It is honest, yet positive. It demonstrates grace-ful reactions to things that happen over and over to large families, homeschooling or not. And it makes me chuckle and laugh -- and cry!! Thank you, Susan Kemmerer for this most valuable book for homeschooling mothers.

I would place this in my top five for encouragement for homeschool moms. Would have loved to have this at the beginning of my journey. Her honesty is so refreshing

There were times when I liked this book, and times I felt it was too preachy or over the top. Just like any other self-help book, I’ll take what I want to glean from it, and leave the rest. I did really appreciate the “homework” sections and the opportunity to ponder scripture and how it applies to my homeschool.

This book gives homeschool mom's hope through the scriptures and laughter through the author's experiences. One can easily relate. Highly encouraging!!
