Hex was a good follow up to Craft. It picks up the story from close to where it ended in the last book.

Ellie and Thane have joined up with a travelling circus! Their characters are given more depth and it brings out some of the different parts of their personalities that don’t always mesh. It was enjoyable to see them grow and interact with people outside of their little world and families. There were a few times I wasn’t sure how Thane managed to not throttle Ellie and her level of innocence
/trust. Sometimes she was driving me crazy. Not to a point of dislike though. I get how sheltered she has been. I did like the ending which sort of helped give Ellie a better sense of how things were and that she wasn’t better than everyone because of her craft. It wasn’t the be all, end all solution.

There were definitely some heartbreaking moments in this book. I both like and dislike Lynnie Purcell for writing them. They felt needed but oh, my poor feelings. I think I appreciated that she didn’t wrap them all up in a nice little bow. It was more realistic this way.

I’m glad we got to see Ellie and Thane interact with other people. It let them change and grow and prevented everything from being fairytale perfect all the time. In the end it seemed like it only strengthened them, both separately and together.

With everything in this book I know I have plenty to look forward to in the final entry.

Great continuation of this series... shows growth of both main characters as they grow apart then come together again. Also introduces interesting new twist providing perfect segue to Curse (#3 of Craft series).
