Terri Copeland Pearson took the religion out of prayer for me. The author really broke down the purpose and process of what prayer really is; removed the stress that can creep in. She gives you a practical place to start, and reminds you this isn’t a job - it’s a relationship. And like all relationships it has a beginning that you build on, they don’t come all at once, you get to know each other, by spending time together and talking. Terri Copeland Pearsons shows how to reach the intimate place you are looking for with God, without outside influence, just you and the Lord. So if you’re struggling in your prayer life or you simply don’t know where to start and are overwhelmed by the process, let this book’s teachings open the way for you. Let it teach you how to find your confident resting place and seat of power with God through prayer.

Reading this book is seeing through her eyes of her experiences in prayer. I found it as the deep in her connecting to the deep in me and drawing me to a definite path to encounter Him . She provides stepping stones practically and in the Spirit a way to encounter Him in prayer. Every chapter holds another spiritual nugget to put into practice for yourself, "simple yet limitless". I've already read this book twice and continue to receive more revelation on how to focus my prayer to encounter Him. This is a must read for those whose hearts are drawing them to be closer to God and to be effective and working with Him in their prayer life. It is changing my life as I pursue To know Him and His ways.

This book is very easy to read, unlike some I have tried that required me to stop and look up words in the dictionary! Teri is very down to earth with practical examples from her own life’s experiences. This is something that I very much appreciate in any area of life. Practical application! For someone who has had so much experience and on levels I can only hope to attain with what time is left on this earth, she is very straight-forward and helpful. Of course, I will need to read it again and probably again to really glean all the valuable nuggets of truth and instruction that is in here! I look forward to starting again.

I have read several books on prayer some even from ministers like Smith Wigglesworth, A.W. Tower, but this book on prayer tops them all, it’s like you are actually living in her world. The anointing on the book is tangible and I definitely know more about prayer than I ever have before. Thank You Nonnie for living your life as an example of what Gods word says pray without ceasing and teaching Terri so for generations on has this book to teach them prayer too. This book goes deep but so simple to learn about dos and don’t about prayer. I could not put the book down, priceless!!!!

I highly recommend An Encounter With Him. It is a practical guide on how to make living contact with our precious Lord. Drawing on years of personal experience, Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons leads us into those very places that she herself has occupied in prayer. With many Scriptures and examples from her own prayer life, she guides us through those steps, practices, and processes that draw us into greater intimacy with Him. Like sitting in a warm tub, I'm used to being surrounded easily by the truths in God's Word, and that's always wonderful. While at times that does happen in Pastor Terri's new book, most of the anointed truths here shocked me like cold water from a garden hose on a hot day. Though it jarred me, I couldn't help lifting these truths to my head and letting them pour over me repeatedly, because my soul was being refreshed and hydrated simultaneously. In the later chapters, praising God in calling His names and meditating what they are to us shoved out the silence and tossed my heart over my head in joy! That's cleansing of a kind I haven't often experienced lately, but I WILL from now on, because God through Pastor Terri has taught me how to go there on demand. Get your copy of this amazing, uplifting, and satisfying book, and bow down at the Throne of Grace while you read it. You'll be changed, and you'll be grateful to God that you are!

No matter where you are in your prayer journey, there are lessons to be learned from this book that will take you higher into, deeper into, and closer to God. That means this isn’t a book you only read once - you read it every time you want a boost in your prayer life.

There are so many aspects of prayer discussed that you will find whatever you need for right now, and you will also see other aspects that you may not be ready for yet but will surely want to come back and explore later.

It also refreshes facts you may already know about prayer, but seeing it in this book makes you want to develop them in your prayers even more.

This is certainly a must-read for anyone who wants An Encounter With Him.

It is a great companion for your Bible.
It is so well written and an easy read.

An Encounter With Him is the second best book I have ever read, and I have read a lot of books and even helped write one.
I remember as a child hearing the Preacher telling us we should be this way or that and repeatedly thinking, "but how" once I started attending Eagle Mountain Church where Pastors George and Terri Pearson's Lead, I was instantly taught to read my Bible and Pray. This book, An Encounter With Him, solidified that information and expounded on it. It was like I was right there listening to Nonny myself. I cried so much that I could barely read. However, they were mostly tears of joy.

I have been so blessed by An Encounter with Him by Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons. One of the things she states is that "prayer is better caught than taught." And while this book teaches about prayer, the book itself is saturated in the spirit of prayer. As I was reading, I found myself stopping to meditate, pray, and implement what Pastor Terri so eloquently captures in her writing. This book has transformed my prayer life and the way I engage with the Lord on a daily basis! I cannot recommend it enough for any believer who is wanting to grow in their prayer life and connection to Him.

READ THIS BOOK! you will be so much richer by doing so! Pastor Terri has packed this book with goodies. First, we learn that as parents and grandparents we can impart spiritually to our littles. We learn that prayer has two sides. This book will help you develop your consistency. We learn we need both fellowship and written Word. We are encouraged to keep learning and that the journey is important too! There is a huge amount of wonderful information in this book, I have hopefully just whet your appetite!

I recommend reading this book if you want to grow and learn about prayer and having a deeper relationship with the Lord! The Holy Spirit is working with you as you read these pages and use your faith. As I have heard and experienced some things in prayer are better caught than taught and you can catch the spirit of prayer as you read this anointed book! Pastor Terri is an expert in prayer and someone you can trust as she will lead you to not only have an effective prayer life, she will also lead you in knowing the Father on a more intimate level and as you do, you will never be the same!

Terri Copeland Pearson's explains how her grandmother "Nonnie" prayed by fellowshipping and communing with God without ceasing, even in her sleep. She talks about how easy and simple prayer is, that we are the ones that make it about religious rules and traditions. Prayer isn't complicated but talking to God about anything and everything as we go on through our days. Even the simplest prayer, God, save my Dad, is a prayer that God hears.
