Making daggers out of raindrops is only the tip of the iceberg for Brooke Bonham. As one of four women who can control the elements, her ability to manipulate water packs a deluge of potential. Eager to learn more, she’s frustrated at the precautions she must take to avoid the wrong kind of attention on Earth.

Kai's duties as a Lash demon have kept him busy on Earth for nearly two hundred years. Fighting? He was born to do it. Females? They're drawn to him. And Earth? The perfect place for him to avoid supernatural bounty hunters.

Though the two of them mix like oil and water, Kai senses that beneath Brooke’s frosty exterior hides a vortex of simmering passion. He’s determined to thaw his ice princess.

Forced to work together in the immortal realm, they track a rogue Lash demon at the helm of a widespread kidnapping operation. All too soon, Kai’s dark past catches up to them. Time runs out as a second enemy, bent on revenge, vows to stop at nothing short of Brooke’s enslavement and Kai’s death. As they and their foes stalk each other in a demonic game of cat-and-mouse, will her evolving skills and their fledgling bond be enough to save them?

In a small condo in Chicago, Kai watches Brooke sleep. It gnaws at him that she lives alone. And although the building is fully warded, he still worries about her safety. Further, he recognizes that his interest in Brooke goes beyond that of protection. And given his past, these new feelings are... perplexing.

"Kai, who took pleasure in bedding as many women as he wanted, was stymied by one willful brunette. But Brooke wasn't just any brunette. The entire supernatural world believes her existence to be a myth."

As a Solsti, Brooke's powers will one day be unmatched. However, she is still in training. And having been raised a human, Kai worries that she is suppressing her senses, leaving herself vulnerable. As a Lash demon, he knows what the legends say about the Solsti. And while she will be protected by the Lash demons, there are others who would want her dead. Thus, checking in on Brooke has become a regular occurrence. Independent and capable, the arrogant Kai is the last demon Brooke would want checking in on her! And so, his stealthy visits continue.

Having been at each other's throats since day one, Brooke is annoyed at the idea that she and Kai will have to take a trip to Torth as a team. Visiting the other realm is always a risky venture. Still, it is necessary. But she does need to practice her ability to manipulate water. And so, there is an upside: after being stifled for so long, the supernatural realm of Torth offers freedom from being discovered by the humans! No more practicing in her bathtub, she will find the biggest water sources in Torth, and learn to manipulate water on the grandest scale imaginable. And no one, least of all Kai, will get in her way.

There was so much going on in this book, but I never felt lost or confused! The author creates an enchanting world with interesting inhabitants that are both fearsome and formidable. And there is beauty and magic around every bend! From the barren wastelands to the lush forests, every river, wave, leaf, and drop of water comes to life! I really felt like the world the author created just popped off the pages. But nothing was gratuitous. This is a magical journey for the characters, as well as the reader!

The characters were charming, fully developed, and believable. The struggles between Kai and Brooke were not contrived. And I appreciated that Brooke wasn't falling all over Kai from the beginning, just because of his physical charms. The characters stayed true throughout the story. However, we do discover Kai's backstory, and thus gain some understanding as to why he presents as guarded and arrogant. Moreover, his protective nature is always in the forefront, and you can't help but see the diamond in the rough.

Eventually, things heat up between Kai and Brooke, and all the descriptive details you could hope for are imagined! We also encounter someone from Kai's past, and plenty of other characters that add depth and meaning to the story, as a whole. My favorite scene was the river scene, whereby Kai and Brooke have to make a quick escape... a river that is vivid, alive, and magical, just like this story!

This is book 2 in the Solsti series, and let me tell you it's a good read I loved book 1 but this one is equally as good if not better as there are more layers to the story.

Kai is a Lash Demon who lives in the same house a Gunnar from book 1, his just getting used to having Nicole around (Gunnar's mate) now her sister Brooke is constantly about and they can't be civil together, of course its obvious for us to see why but it takes them time to figure it out!

Brooke is still trying to master her abilities, it's not easy for her to do in a city without being noticed, so she gets sent to the Demon Realm to practice for a few hours .....with Kai.

So much action in this book, some on earth but mostly in the Demon Realm, and lots in the bedroom department too they both have healthy sexual appetites! There was more to this book than that we get to watch relationships grow and get a look at the past and meet some new characters who I can't wait to see more of.

If your a fan of pnr you will love this series it has everything we look for in our books and will leave you wanting more, especially after the book 3 teaser at end.

A strong 5 Vampy and Racey stars.

The blurb sums up the story perfectly, so I’ll dive right in to my review. Ugh. This series rocks my world! I was already ensnared when I read the first book. The world building is just that good. This series feels fresh, and while it has many scorching hot scenes between the various heroes and heroines, there are enough action scenes with somewhat gruesome battles to balance things out. I would recommend reading the books in order mainly to get a good grasp of the world and all the characters that (re)appear throughout.

Nicole and Kai were introduced in the first book, and let’s just say they didn’t get off to a good start. Despite the fact that Brooke’s sister, Nicole, had mated Gunnar didn’t mean they’d all become one happy family. Kai was about to learn that there was one female who could resist him, and he’d have some groveling to do if she didn’t skewer him with ice daggers first.

I adored these characters both individually and as a couple. Brooke was a sassy, independent female sans flair for theatrics. I can’t stress enough how much I love heroines who don’t come with the (almost standard) flaw of being afraid of falling in love and getting hurt. Her dislike of Kai in the beginning wasn’t her being a b*tch but rather she wanted to be treated with a little respect and not like a piece of meat. Understandable. Another great trait that earned her brownie points with me was that she never claimed she could handle the dangers by herself. She knew she needed help so she diligently practiced with her abilities and continued with her fight training without complaint. I loathe heroines who throw caution to the wind because they mistake genuine concern from their alpha male for high-handedness.

Kai. I knew I was going to love him from the moment he put his foot in his mouth at the end of book one, and again when he realized that he was inexplicably drawn to the woman who kept ignoring or scowling at him. He was protective but not overbearing, and I loved that he encouraged and praised her whenever they found themselves fighting for their lives or when she dug deep to increase the strength of her abilities. He may have been a centuries old demon and she a nearly three decades old human, but they treated each other like equals and partners.

The main action of the story is tied to Kai’s brutal past. When his past and present collide with Brooke caught in the middle, I loved how well she handled herself and the way it brought them closer together. The love scenes were scorching hot, as usual. The story flowed nicely from start to finish that I finished this book rather quickly. There wasn’t a moment where the story felt stunted or boring, therefore I never wanted to put the book down. The best thing about the series is that each book doesn’t end on a dreaded cliffhanger. Each couple deals with a villain, and there’s a set-up for the next couple and the enemy.

On that note, I strongly encourage any PNR lovers to give this series a try. If you’re a fan of Larissa Ione or Felicity Heaton, I think you’ll really enjoy it. If you give one new series or an indie author a try this year, do it here and now. I will be purchasing print copies for myself in the near future.

Book One is currently on sale for only 99 cents until February 9th, 2014.

Kai knows what it's like to be a slave because many years ago he had been caught and brought to the arena where he had to fight other kidnapped slaves just to stay alive. But he escaped with the help of a guard who asked him to kill a slave who raped and murdered his sister. Now, years later the Solsti have returned and he along with the other demons he lives with are trying to keep them safe as well as help them learn how to use their powers. There's something coming, something bad and they have to be prepared for it. What Kai isn't prepared for is Brooke.

Brooke and her sisters have recently learned they are Solsti and they have powers over the elements. Brooke's element to control is water and she's just now learning what she can do with this power. The demons are teaching her and her sister how to defend themselves against the bad demons who would hurt or kill them. There's just one problem and his name is Kai.

I knew right away that I was going to like this book because Kai and Brooke hate each other and always had something snide to say when they were in the same room with one another. You could feel the sarcasm dripping off the walls when they talked to each other and could picture the eye rolls and sneers that they gave to one another in passing.

I love it when the hero and heroine start out hating each other and slowly one of them sees past the flaws of the other because they have the hots for them. That is what happened here with this couple. Kai knows he really messed up their initial meeting and knows Brooke can't stand him but he doesn't know what to do to fix the situation until he realizes that some of those stares she's been giving him haven't been filled with daggers but with lust.

Their budding relationship is really put to the test when they have to travel to the demon realm, Torth. Brooke learns about Kai's time as a slave and she also learns she's more powerful than she realized.

There is another storyline going on at the same time the main storyline is happening. Raniero and Ashina find themselves back together after one hundred years apart. Ashina's father made a deal with Raniero, that he wouldn't kill his daughter if Raniero agreed to be his employee and stay away from his daughter for the time of his forced employment. There's more than meets the eye to these two characters and I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of them in subsequent books.

I've read two books in this series so far and have loved them both and can't wait to see what happens next. If you like your books filled with demons, demon realms, witches, hot alpha males and heroines who aren't afraid to kick some ass when they need too, then this is the series for you.

Picking up neatly from the first book, Wicked Wind, this story works best if you have read the first to get a fuller feel for the world and the threats. It doesn’t hurt to have characters that are well defined and developed, with snarky responses and a willingness to acknowledge their attractions even if they don’t ‘like’ one another so well.

Focusing on Brooke, sister to Nicole, she also is more than just human, and is learning the full breadth and effects of her own power. While Nicole was more interested in not believing the truth before her eyes, Brooke is more interested in just what she can do, and just how much she can learn. She has dedicated her time to learning to control and harness her power, and all would be just perfect if Kai didn’t keep appearing and making her unsettled.

All too aware of his own reaction to Brooke, Kai, a Lash Demon as is Gunnar, Kai had a rough start in life and carries a reasonable belief that if it exists, he can beat it. Having Nicole underfoot was bad enough; but now Brooke is here and Kai finds he is bristling like a hedgehog and unable to be civil. Yes, we see that these two are fated to be mates, despite their own cluelessness, but once that cat is out of the bag…… *fans self*

Again the world building and battles are exemplary, the characters MUST learn to work together to fulfill their destinies and protect the human realm. Moving between the demonic plane and the earthly one, this story is fast paced and keeps the reader on the edge of the seat.

Kai is utterly alpha, and Brooke’s responses to him start begrudgingly but soon ramp up to show the true desire and attachments that they have for one another. Both are fiercely independent and it is a struggle to trust in one another: until the chips are down and trust becomes the one thing that will allow their survival.

A great follow up to the first in this Solsti series, fans of UF and Paranormal romance are sure to like this action-packed ride riddled throughout with steamy moments.

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review for the Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

~ 4 Wicked Waves Stars ~

Wicked Waves is book two in the Solsti Prophecy by Sharon Kay and pick’s up after Wicked Wind. Each book builds on the next adding more insight into the world, characters, and the big bad that is too come.

This one focuses on Brooke, Nicole’s sister who is also more then human and still learning the full depth and effects of her power. She has been dedicating her time on learning to control and harness this power. She is very open when around her sisters, but when she gets around Kai she becomes an ice queen because he unsettles her.

I was intrigued by the way this one started. The prologue gives us insight into Kai and why he is so violent and rude. He is also very aware of his reaction to Brooke and when she is around he finds himself unable to be civil around her. We see that they are fated to be mates, even with their cluelessness, but once its out in the open…. *fan’s self*

The world building and battles where exceptional. Lots of action with the characters having to learn to work together to fulfill their destinies. The story is fast-paced and keeps the reader on the edge. As for Kai and Brooke, these two are fiercely independent and at times it’s a struggle for them to trust, but when they end up in a place Kai did’t ever want to see again, the only way to survive is to trust each other. The pain and emotional struggles bring these two closer together.

We also get a very sweet little side story of Raniero & Ashina that gives us a big surprise.

Wicked Waves was a great follow up to the first. Fans of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance are going to love the action-packed ride we go on with some steamy moments to add to the juiciness of the story. I can’t wait to read more and see where everything leads.

Wow, Outstanding! Let me just say I loved this book. As soon as I got done I went online and bought Wicked Winds, Solsti Prophecy #1. Not that this book wasn’t able to stand by itself because it did a wonderful job of just that. But because I loved the story so much I wanted to read Nicole and Gunnar’s story. I can’t wait for the author to write more books in this series.

Kai is a Lash Demon from the supernatural realm of Troth. After escaping enforced enslavement where he was forced to fight other supernatural beings daily to the death, he joined up with Arawn the leader of the Lash demons. These warriors, The Watchers were known to defend those who were being preyed on by those stronger than them.

Brooke is one of the mythical Solsti. Her element is water which she is just now learning to control. Although one day she would be extremely powerful, she has yet to grow into those powers, and therefore is venerable. It is the job of the Lash demons to protect the Solsti.

Kai and Brooke clash from the start, but are physically drawn to each other. When a Neshi demon comes to earth and grabs Brooke, Kai saves her. This starts their adventure to Troth where they go to get a rare plant that is the weakness of the Neshi demons and it will also give Brooke a chance to use her powers away from earth. You just can’t move large amounts of water down the streets of Chicago without someone noticing.

This story is fast-paced, and extremely well written. I couldn’t put it down. The realm of Troth is so well depicted that you easily find yourself there along with Kai and Brooke. The interaction between the characters is believable and fluid. The love scenes are well thought out and get a glass of ice water steamy. I can’t say enough about this book. I loved it!

Solsti-Prophecy
Happy Release Day to Author Sharon Kay and Wicked Waves
(Solsti Prophecy #2)

I have been looking forward to book 2 of this great series since I finished book 1, Wicked Wind.  I am excited to report that book 2, Wicked Waves is just as fantastic as book one!

What I LOVE about this series…

*I love that each book works as a stand-alone but also is connecting the story of the Solsti sisters together for what I am assuming is going to be an epic smack down of good versus evil.
*At the end of each book you feel you have finished a story but that there is definitely more to come.
* Sexy, Alpha Male, Lash Demons, Protectors
* Strong Female MC's
* Character Growth
* Building Backstory (family secrets, mystery, suspense)
* Steam level--HOT (I usually like a mild to medium on the steam level but for this series the hot level works.)
* that I want more!!! Looking forward to sister, Gin's story!

The blurb does a great job of telling you what this story is about so I will skip recapping that and just say that book 2 is all about Solsti sister, Brook Bonham and her protective Lash demon, Kai. There is love, hate, danger, and more family secrets get uncovered.

If you enjoy steamy paranormal romance then this is a series that you will LOVE. (Recommended for readers 18+ and older)

One of the BEST paranormal romance books I have read period. I was absolutely sucked in from the very first page of this exciting and thrilling NEW paranormal adventure. It was an incredibly marvelous world that was created by this author. Demons have always been one of my favorite paranormal characters because there is just so much you can do with them. But this book blew Larissa Ione's Demonica series off my shelf, which was one of my favorite demon series. I HIGHLY recommend this book to all paranormal romance fans, which dipped into quite a few erotic scenes. It was an excellent mix of adventure, sex, heat, and the story line was out of this world. It flowed like this author is on her twentieth series, not her first!!

Kai was instant love for me. He was hard-core,had the tragic story line, no bullshit, gritty, and OHHHH so hot!! He had a great heart that he kept buried and held most people at arms length, which is where he tried to keep Brooke (which failed miserably by the way). Something about her pulled at him, and she was a temptation he could not ignore.

I loved watching these two fall in love. The passion was already there because the dynamics when they were together were amazing. Even before the sexual tension was admitted to each other, it obvious to those around them that something was going on and it sure wasn't hate.

This author has moved up into my top ten. I cannot believe how much I truly enjoyed reading this book. It was satisfying on every level because it was so fresh and unique. My only regret is that I cannot rate this above a 5 and that I haven't found her sooner!! Excellent read!!

What can I say?! It's possible I loved this book more than the first one!

Lash demon Kai comes from a tortured past and has no interest in putting his trust in anyone or anything. He has spent his life fighting for survival and now as a Watcher is responsible for protecting Earth from other paranormal creatures.

Brooke, one of Nicole's sisters, is the Solsti witch with an affinity to water. Both Nicole and Brooke have been training with the Lash demons to strengthen their gifts. Unfortunately this forces Brooke and Kai into close quarters with each other. In order to dismiss his feeling for Brooke, Kai is purposely rude and distant to her. While his attitude pushed Brooke away she can't help but feel an attraction to him.

When circumstances force Brooke and Kai back to the demon realm, Torth, they can no longer hide their feelings for one another. With their lives in danger, Brooke and Kai form a lasting bond that may be the only thing that can save them and get them back home.

This book is filled with sexy and dangerous demons fighting to protect the women they love. The passion between Brooke and Kai is explosive, making this book a MUST read! I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review for Amber's Reading Room.

Wicked Waves finds Brooke Bonham embracing her role in the Soltsi Prophecy, a prophecy that dictates that Brooke and her sisters Nicole and Ginny will be the needed keys in a battle against an ultimate evil. Brooke dedicates herself to training and developing her powers over the element of water for the coming fight. If only that training didn’t constantly put her in the path of snarky and dangerous Lash demon Kai. Brooke can’t get past their introduction where his first words to her essentially were “Make me a sandwich.” The harder she tries to avoid him the closer he seems to want to get.

“Every time she met his gaze, she felt a spark of… something. Excitement? Awareness? Annoyance? She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she didn’t like it."

Kai is hundreds of years old and is the ultimate survivor. After spending part of his youth as a slave being forced to fight gladiator style to live, he knows there’s nothing he can’t defeat… that is until he comes against Brooke’s temper. Kai isn’t sure why every word out of his mouth inflames Brooke’s anger but as Neshi demons start sneaking into the Earth realm at an alarming pace he knows the two will have to come to an understanding quickly.

When Brooke and Kai journey to the demon realm of Torth to find a tool to combat the Neshi, they must learn to trust in each other to survive the harsh environment and a crew of seriously heinous bad guys. What follows is a roller coaster action coupled with loads and loads of steaminess.

“Rational thought bolted from her mind, replaced with his warmth, his scent, his hard muscles pressing her close. His kiss consumed her like flames on dry tinder. She burned for him, and this time it didn’t frighten her.”

Wicked Waves is a fantastic follow-up to Wicked Wind and I’m officially hooked on this series. It’s a telling sign when I embrace not only the featured heroine and hero in the first chapter, but I also start picking out a handful of secondary characters that I start hoping the author will write a full story for (I got up to about six I’m hoping for more on). Author Kay creates such distinct and well-rounded characters; even those in the background of Wicked Waves stand out in a good way.

Brooke and Kai are both fiercely independent and I loved that they grated each others nerves, no instant hearts and flowers for those two. The tension added to the overall excitement of the story.

Wicked Waves should not be read as a stand-alone novel. If you haven’t already checked out Wicked Wind you’ll need to do that first to get a full understanding and appreciation of the Solsti Prophecy story. Wicked Waves will be followed by Wicked Flames and will focus the wayward Bonham sister Gin and Lash demon/tracker extraordinaire Mathias. I absolutely loved Mathias’s character in Wicked Waves, full of cockiness and humor. I can’t wait to check it out.

Overall Wicked Waves is a great addition to the Solsti Prophecy series and an exciting paranormal read. I definitely recommend picking up a copy.

Happy reading.

Wicked Wave is the second installment in the Solsti Phrophecy series. It appears as though the story is only getting deeper. That’s why I love cross-over books. There is always more of the bigger picture being showed with each new book. This installment is about the mysterious Lash Demon Kai, and Brooke, the Water Solsti. Those of you that have read the first book know that these two well…..they don’t start off on the right foot. The anticipation for their story was high because of the underlying tension you could sense. There is so much that happens in this installment, I don’t know where to begin.

Kai and Brooke have an awkward and touchy relationship. When we meet up with them again, things are not much better. Although, secretly Kai may not be so indifferent to the lovely Brooke. Remember the saying “boys are mean because they like you?” Kai is constantly checking in on Brooke throughout his nights on patrol. Things have calmed down substantially in the city. There aren’t as many demons needing to be slayed. Some would say “The calm before the storm”. Yeah.

Brooke has fought her new life. She refused to move in to the Lash demons compound. Demon Central. However, she does train with them to continue growing her skills. However, when she is attacked, she realizes that there isn’t much she knows how to do. That without the aid of Kai she would be dead. Her need to work on expanding her skill grows. Slowly but surely, Brooke allows Kai to work with her. In return, they start to let their wall between each other come down.

With the new outbreak in demons, there’s a need to go to Torth. Brooke and Kai are sent on a mission to retrieve a rare flower that grows in the depths of the worst area in Torth. Here, darkness descends on these two. Throwing them into each other’s arms. Forming a bond and Trust like no other.

There’s a whole lot of suspense in this one. There were a couple of places I was scared to turn the page. Kai’s past comes back to get him. Brooke gets caught up in the mess. People are tortured. Memories erased. The old witch Rosa, pops in for a bit of giving aid and taking hair.New characters are introduced, the Hunter. Our pal from the first book Raniero comes back into play. Boy, oh boy…that I did not see coming. I wasn’t sure where that was going. I do believe that the puzzle is unraveling quite nicely. Nothing seemed to be predictable.

Ms. Kay was able to take this world and continue to run wild with it. I loved the adventure, the hotness, and the mystery. Kai’s broodiness drew me to him. The story of his past hooked me to him. Brooke’s fierce attitude and independent streak had me at hello. Together these two make an awesome team. I give this book 4.5 stars. Wicked Flames is the next installment. The Fire Solsti, Gin seems to be the most stubborn of them all so far but, I have a feeling she’s about to meet her match.

Don’t you just love when the hero and heroine start out taking jabs at each other, mixing about as well as oil and water? You know, that elementary school attitude where you show someone you like them by tormenting the heck out of them? Kai, a powerful lash demon and Brooke, a Solsti who controls the water element just cannot play nice together. You just know their sizzling tension and friction is going to change into another very HOT and sensual kind of sizzling tension! A mission into the demon realm finds Kai and Brooke forming a tenuous truce to their bickering as each begins to realize there is something special about the other. Kai’s past has made him the tough and formidable alpha male he is today, as intimidating as he is, Brooke is determined to show her own brand of meddle as she faces beings in a world she never knew existed. Together they face capture, escape, demons, witches and even run into an elf or two. But will they find what their heart longs for with each other?

Wicked Waves by Sharon Kay, although book two of the Solsti Prophecy series, can be read as a standalone, thanks to brilliant tidbits hidden within this tale. She writes each scene with such attention to detail, that I mentally checked out of this world and fell into the one she has created. With dialogue and banter that will make you smile one minute and make you sigh the next, this fast-paced romantic fantasy adventure will often leave the reader breathless, anticipating each page!

Sharon Kay’s writing is so strong; she is even able to weave another separate and secondary storyline about mates who are reunited after a century of being kept apart. The threads of each story are tied together with precision and perfect timing.

I received a copy from Sharon Kay in exchange for my honest review, and I honestly loved these characters and will probably think of Wicked Waves every time I see frosting for quite some time!

Wicked Waves is the second in a new series by author Sharon Kay. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Wicked Wind, where we were introduced to our characters and their world. We get a bit of time in modern day Chicago where the battles begin then move on to other dimensions where we gets some answers and even more questions to this suspenseful story. There are actually a few storylines going on, two major and a few minor. We see them starting to come together and it makes for an intriguing hook.
This book gets two more main characters together while putting them through several bad situations. The couple initially avoided each other for the most part so it was nice to see them develop a relationship of trust and respect and in a way that was believable and not just two hot people unable to control themselves. That seems to be a common occurrence in a lot of PNR so this was refreshing to have some mutually attracted adults make actual decisions and experience actual emotions. Now eventually they do get down to the hot and heavy stuff and when they do the author keeps it very classy. With the use of detail and description we are taken through several hot encounters. The scenes aren't mindless sex and they actually lead to further story development as well as character development. And if you enjoy some very hot sexual antics then you'll enjoy when our characters get together. Neither are shy and they thoroughly enjoy their new found relationship.
We are introduced to new characters and some previous minor ones are brought back and integrated further into the story. It is very exciting to see where people and their histories are tying together. Lots of speculation on my part and it is so nice not to be able to predict what is affecting who and what is going to happen.
The world building is detailed and memorable. You won't be lost in too many species and too many differences right off the bat.
The writing and story come together solidly in this second book. Again the editing is fantastic and the action has increased from the first book. The series is only getting more exciting and definitely draws you in. This series is fast paced with a kindness to it. It is easy to become involved with the characters especially the women and though there are some very bad situation and histories it doesn't get too dark and the characters retain their innate freshness.

Wicked Waves is the second book in Sharon Kay’s Solsti Prophecy series. I started it without realizing it was the second book and was a little puzzled by the lack of world building until I figured that out. There are four books in the series, each one focusing on one of the four Solsti (magical women who can each control a different element).

Wicked Waves will not be to every reader’s taste, but for lovers of paranormal romance, I think it will be a hit.

The dialog is a bit hokey sometimes (for example, “Ix-nay on the elp-hay” (p. 21) – pig latin? really?) but the book is extremely readable. I quite enjoyed some of the descriptions (“He managed to look both boyish and dangerously sexy, like a prom king turned underwear model” (p. 25)), as well as the Chicago setting. I was pulled right into the story of Brooke, who can control water, and Kai, a Lash demon and former slave.

They strike sparks off each other from the start – adversaries who are drawn to each other all the same. When they are thrown into mortal peril on the demon home world of Torth, their attraction heats up. There is a lot of hot sex, but they also form an emotional bond. Brooke’s sister Nicole mated with a Lash demon in the first book, and we find out that when a couple bonds, each acquires a “mate lock” – one lock of hair turns the color and texture of the mate’s. That was a nice touch.

There are a lot of minor characters, and most of them are not fleshed out. In particular, Brooke has a black, gay coworker who is very stereotypically black and gay. I’m sure some of the other minor characters will have prominent roles in books 3 and 4.

There is nothing particularly original here, but that’s not what I look for in a paranormal romance. The end result is exactly what I expected – bad guys dead, good guys mated.

This book reminded me of the R.A. Salvatore Drizzt books (only coarser and with more sex) and Jim Butcher’s Dresden files series. It is likely to appeal to fans of Laurell K. Hamilton, J.R. Ward, and Christine Feehan. If you enjoy urban fantasy and paranormal romance that includes coarse language and descriptive sex, I recommend Wicked Waves.

I read a digital copy of Wicked Waves.

About a 4.5 rating...
It always makes me happy to see an author find their stride as a writer. Even though I liked book one in this series... book two was definitely a step up. The story was engaging, it flowed well and I really loved the character and story development. Had a hard time putting the book down actually.
Kai and Brooke have great chemistry. The build up to them eventually becoming mates was fun, engaging and quite steamy. I did feel like the second half of the book was a little too much steam and yes, I did skim through some of them. But, only because I was very engaged in the overall story which always seems to interest me more in general.
This series revolves mostly around the Solsti sisters who each have a gift that centers around the elements. This book focuses on Brooke and her power to manipulate water. It was nice to see her character grow and her power getting stronger.
Kai has a very interesting back story and I really liked his character overall. Can't blame Brooke for giving in to his desire for her... especially after learning about his past.
I love the world of Torth where most of the Demons and supernatural creatures reside. They travel back and forth to earth through portals. The demons that reside on earth are there to protect and guard from creatures who are there to cause trouble or harm. And now, with the discovery of the Solsti sisters and their growing power, they are also in charge of protecting them.
There is a lot going on in this series and I am definitely going to pick up the next installment which I believe is titled... Wicked Heat. Can't wait to see what kind of heat the author whips up for us in the next book! I am curious too about the missing sister that will ultimately complete the circle of the Solsti.
I really recommend reading book one and two before deciding if this is a series you will want to continue. Book two is better... and, I have a feeling this series will get better and better with each installment. Well, I hope it does.. :)

I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for a review...

The second in the Solsti Prophecy Novels.

We couldn’t wait to get our hands on this baby after having read Wicked Wind. (Which by the way is awesome!!)

This continues from the first book but this time round we follow the love/hate relationship of Kai and Brooke. Brooke, you may remember as Nicole’s sister – her power is controlling water. Hence the awesome title for the book. Kai – the brother of Gunnar. Kept in captivity as a slave to fighting for his life against every demon imaginable. You could say he hasn’t had a smooth run so far. But here he is hundreds of years later still kicking butt.

As we know from Wicked Wind, Brooke and Kai didn’t exactly see eye to eye – always avoiding and ignoring each other because any time spent in the same room was often spent bickering or glowering at one another. So it’s great to finally see some of that pent up sexual tension put to release!

I love how their relationship develops. I think I would put quarries to sleep if I was taken by monsters and thrown into a cell too. That’s exactly what happens to this pair. Once again proving that Sharon Kay has an outstanding imagination with the power to create such a vivid world filled with beings of all nature. She sends us to places that you wouldn’t find in your typical romance book.

As the story takes you on a rollercoaster of adventure into more self discovery, meeting some awful, yet nice creatures on the way. The journey is just building up for the bigger picture, such a mystery on what lay ahead for the Solsti and demons. Every challenge brings Kai and Brooke closer developIng stronger connection. With believe, trust and love everything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Yet again another awesome installment In the Solsti Prophecy Series. Can't wait to see what's up next in this adventures story, the story is just getting better, Best to come yet...

This book was Amazing!

Brooke along with her sister has always known there was something different about herself but didn't know what until they were older. Lets just say they were in for a surprise when they found out exactly what it was, their powers where not just a simple power but an ancient form called the Solsti. A lash demon named Kai and Brooke have been at each others throat since the beginning of them meeting with good reasons. However, when a form of demons come through to Earth these two must put their feelings aside and find out who is behind sending these to the human realm and how far Brooke can push her powers.

Watch out the world is in trouble with these two go into the Demon Realm of Torth. Especially when they also have a physical attraction they have been trying to fight and Kai has a history with the place! Of all the descriptions, danger, and action the author brings to you in this book you will be wrapped in the world she creates and wanting more. With as much that happens in this book some books seem like it is thrown together but in Wicked Waves it flowed smoothly and didn't have any blank points in the story. The story line and characters she creates in the book is remarkable and entertaining for the readers. With each book you find yourself receiving a story and a main story within itself, kind of like a puzzle.

While this book is the second one in a series, it can stand alone. Just to let you know though the first one is just as good as this one and you should read the first also because it gives you a little more on the storyline about Nicole (Brooke's sister). I can't wait until Wicked Flames comes out because this sister has been a little more difficult so it will definitely be interesting on how they get her to use her powers. This author has definitely became one of my favorite author.

Wicked Waves by: Sharon Kay
Review by: Kayla
Synopsis: Making daggers out of raindrops is only the tip of the iceberg for Brooke Bonham. As one of four women who can control the elements, her ability to manipulate water packs a deluge of potential. Eager to learn more, she’s frustrated at the precautions she must take to avoid the wrong kind of attention on Earth.Kai's duties as a Lash demon have kept him busy on Earth for nearly two hundred years. Fighting? He was born to do it. Females? They're drawn to him. And Earth? The perfect place for him to avoid supernatural bounty hunters.Though the two of them mix like oil and water, Kai senses that beneath Brooke’s frosty exterior hides a vortex of simmering passion.
Review: I was given a copy of Wicked Waves by Sunshine and Mountains blog for an honest review. I really enjoyed the first book. So I was excited to read Wicked Waves. I wasn’t disappointed. It was a good read. I loved the layers that were added to this book. It just made me love the story even more. There is a lot of action in this book. Kai is a lash demon, he lives with Gunnar from the first book. Brooke is still trying to master her abilities. She keeps getting sent to the demon realm with Kai. Their relationship starts to grow. There is a lot that goes on in this book. I really enjoyed this book. It was a good paranormal romance. I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

Holy 5 Smoking Hot Stars!!!!!!

This is the kind of book I could read over and over again. I mean come on demons, witches, supernatural powers that rock, hot steamy love scenes, with a few demon kicking ass? Gotta love it!!! Plus it never hurts to have a sexy and completely fantasy worthy Kai to hold your attention and imagination. But I do gotta say I enjoyed Brooke.

Books need more strong independent females and this book gives you all of that. She could hold her own if she decided to get involved in the fights. Plus she has the ability to do things with water that....... well if you want examples you will just have to read it. :-)

This kept me enthralled the entire time. Rather then having the normal 1 instance that needs fixed these two run into several issues to overcome and honestly I couldn't see half of what happened coming. I had to finish this book as fast as possible and when I hit the end I can't wait for the story to go on!! And don't stress over a cliffhanger because it isn't one of those that pisses you off because your stuck without closure until the next book. Granted their is much more to come along the main story line but it does actually have an ending. Thank heavens for that!!!

Now I read this book without having read the first one and it can be read as a stand alone but I definitely want to go back and read the first to get a better understanding of the bigger story line. But if you aren't looking to read a whole series then this is still a book to read.

So I definitely recommend reading this and I am definitely going to go back and read the first one because Sharon Kay can write one hell of an interesting, riveting, sexy and romantic book and I want no I NEED to know what's happened before and what's after Brookes story!

Solsti, Brooke Bonham, is frustrated by being limited to how she uses her element of water and eager for further development of her power. Lash demon and former slave, Kai, has been fighting on Earth for two hundred years. The two can barely stand to be in the same room with each other.

Now the duo needs to go on a mission to the Demon Realm of Torth. A bounty on Kai’s head puts them in danger. They need to work together if they want to survive, becoming closer along the way.

I really liked Wicked Waves. The story was inventive and action packed. The dialog was entertaining and kept you interested.

I enjoyed the love/hate interaction between Brook and Kai. The characters showed growth along the way; especially Brooke who began to come into her powers.

I liked that Kai’s selfless kindnesses of helping others serve him. It also shows that he is a worthy individual.

It is always an added plus for me when a book takes place in my hometown, Chicago. Wicked Waves also has the bonus of taking place on Torth, which is a very well developed fantasy realm.

Sharon Kay did an excellent job with this novel. It is the second book of the series. I skipped the first book and had no problem following Wicked Waves. If anything it just made me want to go back and read Brooke’s sister, Nicole’s, story in Wicked Wind. I am also intrigued to read the next book in the series Wicked Flames. Especially since the third sister, Gin, goes to school at my alma mater, go Illini! Clearly, the girl has good taste.

This book was amazing! It is book two in the series and you must read Wicked Winds first and fall in love with Gunnar.

Brooke is excited to be learning more about her talent with water. She wants to have more options with what she can do. On earth she is limited since humans would learn about the supernatural world. So when the option to go to Torth comes up, she decides to go. It is only for a few hours or so she thought. Once there things don't go as planned and things get heated between Kia and her. She is attracted to Kia, but doesn't understand why he is always a jerk to her. Can she start something with him and not get her heart broken?

Kia is trying to protect the Solsti sisters. He is attracted to Brooke from the moment he lays eyes on her. Or more likely her butt. He doesn't understand why he is always being a jerk to Brooke, but if he wants to get to know her better he needs to learn that being a jerk is not ok. He ends up going to Torth with her and decides that he can be the man she needs and wants. When things go wrong on Torth his main goal is to protect Brooke, but his feelings of possession might hurt her instead of help. Can they have a fling on Torth and forget about it once they arrive back on earth? Or is this a lifelong relationship?

This book will leave you salivating for more, more and more. I don't want to wait for book three. I need to know what happens next. If you haven't read Wicked Winds you need to go buy it now then read Wicked Waves!!

This book is the sequel to Solsti Prophecy: Wicked Winds, which is Nicole’s story. I absolutely loved the first book but I think I am more in love with this second book, which happens to be Brooke’s story. I love Brooke and Kai.

The writing takes you on an adventure with your imagination. I said the last book could be a movie well this one could be its sequel. It has all sorts of creatures. Some are kind a scary but my favorites where the elves. Yes I said elves.

Brooke is a firecracker. She made me smile a lot through this book. Her personality is to be a fighter, but like in all of us women she has her tender moments too. She shows her true strength all throughout the book. She grows up in this book. Her relationship with Kai is forced at first but I liked the first grade banter.

Kia is a strong and panty melting guy. He melted mine a few times. This guy is a warrior. He lacks nothing in the determination department. I can say though he made me mad at the beginning. He had a piss pour attitude to begin with. Kai grew up as well. He had an eye opening due to Brooke.

I am giving this book 4.5 hearts. This book contains all the essentials in my paranormal fantasy land. It had action, love, sex, and some comedy. I recommend you read the first book to understand the second.

The second book in the series is just as exciting and delicious as the first!!

I loved Brooke in the first book and was thrilled she would be the focus of this one!! She is just a really awesome chick with loads of sass!! Enter a yummy Alpha Demon, Kai, who is perfect for her!!

I love the books where they try to fight an obvious attraction. It makes the getting together all the sweeter! Oh, yeah, the steam is hot as Hades!!!! I need a few ice daggers to cool me off!

Once again it is a stellar well developed plot, engaging and dynamic characters, in a fabulously creative world. This is one of those series I drool over. I can not wait to see the other sisters books!! I am sure they will be just as smexy!!

I love all the characters in this series. They are the biggest thing drawing readers back. And each book goes deeper into the world and introduces more wonderful supporting cast! There is a great mix of types good, evil and decidedly grey.

The pace of the read is steady with just the right mix of story, steam and fighting action. I would love to see these in audiobooks as I am sure they would be exciting to listen to at the gym!

Can't wait for the next book, which I hear is releasing soon!!

Wow! What a fantastic paranormal romance read Wicked Waves was! When I read paranormal romance I'm looking for unique supernaturals, steamy romance, a believable storyline(within their world), and a breath taking dynamic duo between the hero and heroine. Wicked Waves delivers all of the above. Not only was the story amazing but it was well written and kept me turning the pages.

Kia is a Lash demon now living in Chicago hunting Neshi demons. He is insistently drawn to Gunner's mate sister,Brooke who just happens to be one of the mythical Solsti. A Lash Demons job is to protect the Solsti at any cost.

Brooke's element is water but controlling it is another story. Spending a lot of time training with these Demon warriors puts her in close contact with Kia and this is where the story gets hot;)

After a Neshi attack on Brooke, Kia and Brooke team up to go to Troth (supernatural world) in search for a plant that will weaken the Neshi Demon. This also helps Brooke in her training as well. But while in Troth old wounds are opened as an old enemy seeks his revenge.

If you love paranormal romance, you will love Wicked Waves.

booklovinjunkie(dot)blogspot(dot)com When Sharon Kay gave me this book to review I ran around my office giggling and dancing. I was honored to read book 1 Wicked Winds and determine come hell or high water I was going to read every book Sharon came/comes out with! So I got book two and it is as the first well written , so detailed and graphic that you can feel the water on your body , the wind rush by you as the characters ran , and the heat of the love scene. Brooke and Kai are great! They don't start off as friend , but as others come to kidnap Brooke it is Kai responsibility to watch over and protect her. They are soon thrown into a life and death mission , and the passion grows . I read this book in one day , ordered pizza for the kids and didn't move from my reading chair til 3am . They I spent another hour calming my heart down , and reliving the fights, the arguments, and the romance. GREAT series , wonderful books and I can't wait to read more and more ! Keep up the great , wonderful , magnificent work Sharon Kay!!!

Sharon Kay has done it again! I loved this book and couldn't put it down. From page one I was sucked into the book and pulled through the story like a riptide.

Kai and Brooke's romance starts off rocky and you see the attraction right away and wonder how they are going to get passed their differences. Well, throw them into a mission in the demon realm of course, where they have to fight bounty hunters and retrieve a specail item.

The way this was written, all the obstacles they have to face, couldn't set the stage for a better romance. If you read book one, Wicked Wind, your are sure to love this second installment in her Solsti Prophecy Series. I know I did and I can't wait to read the third! If you like authors such as, Kresley Cole, J.R. Ward, and Laura Ardian you are sure to love Sharon Kay. And if you haven't read the first book in the series be sure to check out Wicked Wind.

“His acute vision allowed him to see her clearly in the dark, and the glow from his eyes only magnified her beauty.”

The second addition to the Solsti Prophesy was as exciting as the first book. As with the first book, the world building is awesome. All the different characters seemed to come to life.

I loved Kai, the tortured hero, and I love a tortured hero. Kai and Brooke had a shaky beginning, but when they realized they were meant to be together, the sparks flew and it was hot!

The adventure and suspense was well written and you didn’t know what was going to happen from one moment to the next. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Wicked Wind was amazing, but it has nothing on Wicked Waves.
I loved the first installment of this series, but I absolutely LOVE Wicked Waves.
It's sexy and steamy and takes you on another journey.
I will say, there are some delicate topics and some situations that some readers may find difficult to read, but it's tastefully written and not over the top.
Brooke is fierce and I love that she is this way. I am not a fan of simpering females and Brooke is certainly not one.
Kai is freaking HOT! That is one alpha demon I'd love to hang with.
I love that the story flows and encompasses a variety of emotions. Attraction, denial, humor, seduction, romance, hot sex, a little angst, and some action are all beautifully interwoven in this fantasy tale.
If you are a fan of paranormal romance with some steam, you do not want to miss this series.
5 solid stars!
