i wasn’t completely sure going into this book on how i would like it — but godDAMN this book sucked me in!
we see different sides of val and while sometimes her emotions gave me whiplash they made so much sense from the background you get of her character. at first thought she’d be meek and mild but she turned out to have some fire in her that i love to see in my fmc.
i also really liked the guys. my personal favorite has to be sweetie pie baby blue eyed boy 😭 i loved reading about the twins as well, i love myself a good psycho 😮‍💨 i hope to get to know santiago a little better the next book because i felt like he took a back seat a bit in some of the book.
honestly if you like
✔️ why choose
✔️ hurt / comfort (but they all hurt)
✔️ darker themes
then you’ll probably like this book.
disclaimer - this is the authors very first book and there were somethings missed in editing that could distract you a bit. BUT i will say that the storyline (for me) was worth it and i know that her work will get better every release!

I liked the story despite a premise that stretches credibility. But I had a hard time reading a prose full of typos (we’re/were, it’s/its), which a simple spellchecker would have found and killed, and grammar errors (the most common: “when I reached . . . I notice” and other tense agreement mistakes). Many paragraphs go on and on (even eight pages), like in a stream of consciousness written by a six grader.
All in all, this novel reads like a first draft. And it’s a pity because a little editing would have improved the writing immensely.

Good

The storyline is amazing and the plot is great lots of twists and turns. Maisy should be proud of publishing her first book. It lodes s star because there are a few inconsistencies and changes that don't really flow, and there are quite a number of spelling and grammar mistakes. The writing is also pretty unsophisticated in places and a bit immature. I also knew this author had fo be British because there were too many Britishisms that Americans wouldn't typically use. A good edit would bring this up to a 5 star read as like i say the plot is fantastic.

Good start, need another round of edits

The book was good, the plot was interesting. The book could do with another round of edits. Lots of uncaptialized names, missing punctuation and it could just be a me thing but I wish the dialog was formatted differently. Somethings it's hard to tell when a character speaking has changed.

So good

From start to beginning to end I couldn't stop reading .Valentina was so incredible, never wanting to be victim and making it known not mess with her whether your man or woman .

I loved Lucas and Santiago the most then seeing enzo and onyx more and seeing everything they shared and the the pain & trauma

The ending I did not see coming at all

Honestly I really loved the characters and plot of this book. That being said, I wish I could sit don’t with a red pen and fix all the typos, and rewrite a few things to make it make sense. But even with the typos I’d read it again.

This book are so amazing but I felt like the sex was lil too rushed but Valentina & Santi are so worth it! I was also abit confused about the plot but I have learned guys can be victims too and not boys! Why-Choose for them is chef-kiss! Worth it! Valentina is totally a badass, I love her….she never backs down, loves to fight…I could read her POV all night. Enzo, Onyx. Santiago & Lucas are all the best in their own way. I find it comfort for them to stick together and consider themselves as brothers! It’s very mysterious about who was the stalker and it surprised me who it was….their smut was very good but again I felt it was lil too rushed but the thing is All 5 together is amazing and they fit so perfectly together! I can’t wait for book two and what’s going on! If you can’t wait for book two…I will recommend to read a novella! It is so vibey and non-serious! Maisy….take your time to finish book two! We are all here for you! I can’t wait to read your books again 💖🤍🥰

Buckle up cause this plot sucks you in and keeps you guessing around every corner. Starts off with a trauma bond formed between the 4 MMCs and the FMCs at a young age. Then we are brought to their college years where the boys meet back up with the FMC under CRAZY circumstances. When I tell you the twist and turns of this story had me crying out WTF too many times! I loved all the different personalities shown for the MMCs but of course I loveeee my crazy Onyx the most. I hope in book two we get a little more in depth with the past of the boys and what they went through to make them the way they are now. The only reason I can’t give this a 5 star is cause of lots of spelling mistakes throughout. But with that said, I NEED BOOK 2 NOW cause how you gunna leave us on a cliffhanger like that ?!

4/5 ⭐️

17% of the way through and I DNF’d. The writing is terrible. There’s multiple grammar errors, telling instead of showing, and it simply does not have a good flow. It’s chaotic and jumps around without any rhyme or reason when it comes to character thought/dialogue/narrative.

It’s kinda like the author went, “oh, I want them to know this. This would be a good idea.” And then just precedes to throw something random out there that would have been better explained elsewhere and through actions, worthwhile dialogue, or well thought out foreshadowing.

The flow is just messy and the writing juvenile.

Had to force myself to finish because I didn’t want a dnf as my first book of the year. Read like an okay fanfic, great idea for a plot, just not perfectly executed. With some polishing could be great.

Great Storyline

They plot and spice were great. I loved how she built the characters up. BUT, the typos and errors made it hard for me to finish it.

A LOT of spelling and grammar errors. Seems like it was written but not professionally edited. Took away from the storyline. Story was also a bit far fetched

Loved it and can’t wait for book 2. It was a bit difficult to get into for the first couple of chapters but after that great read.

Honestly, I really do not enjoy giving negative reviews, however... I throroughly did not enjoy this book. I found the plot lacking and the content confusing. The characters had so many flaws and over dramatic reactions. I feel as though the author did not research Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and only did the worse cases for all of the characters. There is a lot of possiblilty for depth and growth. I found myself asking 'wtf' quite a bit.

The world is small but tries to be larger. The MMC's are all over the place with their inablity to stop and think. The plot was so rushed that it was a free fall into the ground without anything to hold on to.

I do think that there is something here with this series, there is a large possibility to be awesome. The concept is something a lot of people would enjoy, it just needs to be completely refined and broken down into smaller pieces.

I really hope that should I come across this author again with a different novel,
that I enjoy her work.
