slow moving and repetitive. Practically no story and ending when a little bit could happen. I do not call it a book, the 3 first "books" should have been only one. Real money grab. The worldbilding is not logical. Do not advice to read if you are a "thinking" reader
Another Breath Holding, Muscles Tense in Anticipation Book in Series!
And I NEED to read the next one! Arrrgggh! Plus, it’s an incomplete series (as of November’24) so I will have to wait at some point…. Darn my fast reading!
Thankfully, Jada Fisher is a great writer, and gets each volume out at what I consider a fast pace. I have enjoyed every series I’ve read by this author, including those written in conjunction with other writers.
By far, though, I find the character development, and the entire world built, to be above exemplary. Just when you think an author has hit their stride, they up the quality which you didn’t think could or needed to be upped. (Hopefully that makes sense!)
I’ve always loved Dragons. Flit, co-primary protagonist, is now another dragon in my cadre of beloved companions. Her chosen, Lisbeth, is a feisty, talented, headstrong, resourceful character that in some ways I can relate to. These books are populated with very well crafted characters, and I never have a problem remembering names or the summary history of each.
The action? Top notch! Edge of your seat anticipation, moments of incredible elation, then points of spine chilling dread. All the elements of wonderful storytelling are here and more. Read the series, then read the authors other series! ‘Dragons in the Dark’ can be read before ‘The Dragon Guard’ novels., for those who wonder.
Feeling blue? These are the perfect shut-the-world-out-and-read books. Rainy day, sunny day, beach, staycation, vacation, before sleep… You get the point. Sometimes I believe reading is better medicine depending on your ailment.
Okay! On to the next book, number three!!!!! I’m hoping for a total of at least seven - but I’ll accept where the story goes and where it stops. I trust the creator fully!
I am very impressed with this book and the author is familiar to me, so I should not be surprised. This is a story about the post Apocalypse and people living underground away from the devastation topside. It is also about a poor scrounger living with an ex soldier and several young orphan girls like her. In the prior book, she helps a foreign woman escape from the Void beasts topside and helps a young boy find his family. It seems the foreign woman had a dragon egg with her and the scrounger was called to it, and the dragon hatched in her hands. Lots of things happened that you need to read about, because the dragon bonded to the scrounger, the foreign lady woke up from her healing sleep and the dragon is getting more active. I definitely highly recommend this book and look forward to the next one.
Cliffhanger, that's what this book is. I thought I had it all figured out.. but no.. not at all. It has been a few months since I read the books this series follows, maybe a year. Maybe more. So I'm a little foggy on the back story. Still. What an awesome story! Don't you just love Jada Fisher books!
I enjoyed reading this book so much as soon as I started it, I did not put it down until the end. My heart missed a few beats towards the end for Lisbeth's safety but I totally loved how it all came together! Looking forward to th e next book in June!
Little Dragon took me on several heart-pounding ventures. I can't wait for Flit to grow up. The writing made me feel I know the characters. I must be off to read the next book in the series.
Great world building. Smart fifteen year old navigates her way through all sorts of adventures. She helps orphans like herself. They she finds and saves an outsider. That gets her a dragon.
What a wonderful, unusual story! I love that I can’t seem to figure out what will happen next. I can’t wait for the next book. I love all of the characters.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
I love Flit🥰 I need to know Vanka's story and where she came from. Lisbeth is such a fighter and I like that in fmc. Looking forward to the next. Onwards...
I was hoping for more... the book just doesn't seem to move very much...I like the character building but I don't know what the story is building towards...
