Codependency in relationships can happen without you necessarily being aware of it. It might occur gradually, but once it has taken hold, it can be destructive and pernicious. There’s no guarantee it will become that way, but many people find that it has if they take a step back and look at their marriage or partnership objectively.

This is a book about how you can get away from harmful codependency in a relationship. It does not demand that you break up with a person with whom you have become codependent. Instead, it leads you to delicately question your happiness with the person you’re with.

Even if you decide to remain together, you will find helpful tips here to get you away from negative relationship dynamics. Breaking up with this person might only become necessary if they resist the attempts that you’re making to become a stronger and more self-actualized individual.

Codependency in Relationships by Maria Reed is another wonderful work from the author. This is the third book I read from her. The more I read from Maria, the more I became a fan of her. The previous books helped me grow a lot in the emotional field, and this one was not the exception. The topic of codependency is dealt with in such a gentle and direct manner that every thought falls in the right place with no effort. And in my opinion, that is not an easy job. 5 stars.
