… the nice guy living next door to you is the one they keep talking about on the news? The one who keeps killing, brutal and violent. What if you lived next door to a serial killer?
What if …
… the woman living next door—respectable, has a good office job in the city somewhere—what if she was a black widow? Sleeping with men to kill them only minutes after.
What a novel idea here. Like Mr and Mrs Smith…just with serial killers. The real highlight here were the narratives of both Mr and Mrs Jones. Getting a first class ticket into each of their minds as they hide their agendas from one another, hunt their unsuspecting victims, and, of course, kill them in nasty ways. Just a real delight to see things through both of their POVs. There’s also a ton of well-written sexual content in here, too. Between that and the abundance of violence, it was all balanced just so well, never becoming tired or overdone. Surprisingly, this packed a really great and developmentally satisfying story in such a short book. This was definitely one of my favorite Ash Ericmore experiences to date.
Mr and Mrs Jones are just an ordinary loving couple, each with their own commitments and pastimes. That is until an air of suspicion descends after which, their unspoken worlds intersect.
Told through alternating POV from both Mr and Mrs Jones, their actions normalised in their everyday home life; a balance neither of them are willing to disrupt for the sake of the other.
This is up there amongst my favourite Ericmore books. I cannot believe it’s taken me so long to read it !
As always, Ash Ericmore brings a huge dose of blacker-than-tar humor to his horror. If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain, if you're not into yoga, and if you like bashing-in brains... Jones is a book about the dark secrets kept behind the veneer of a loving relationship. Stick around. You won't quite see the ending coming! 4.5 stars, rounded up.
I have passed this book so many times thinking I had read it. But I finally checked and it wasn't in my library, so I took a chance and to my delight, I definitely hadn't as I would of remembered reading it. This a good read and not like the usual couple books, where they go torturing in sync. There is also a great twist at the end which adds to the whole ending. A great easy, bloody read, that you can't help but enjoy. Recommended!
Secret money stowed away from a partner. A secret affair. Secrets of a sordid past never shared.
There are far worse secrets between the Jones’s. Mr. Jones works from home, minds the house and cat, cooks the dinner… Mrs. Jones works long hours at the office, often the first there and last to leave. But somewhere in between the repetition of their daily lives, they both find ways to fulfill their ‘needs’.
Secrets breed distrust, but where is the line, the threshold, the point of no return where you’ve confided in your partner your darkest secrets and they don’t handle it like you thought? Which is worse: risking your partner turning you in for your extracurricular activities or letting them think you’re having an affair?
In this twisted tale of star-crossed murderers, Ericmore paints the bloody background for two up and coming killers who just happened to fall in love in between kills. They have more in common than they ever dreamed, but can they see eye to eye in their trust of each other and finally share their true passions?
A married couple, at first just referred to Mr. Jones and Mrs Jones, appear to be average, unexceptional people, yet both of them are serial killers. Mr Jones murders women in gruesome ways, while Mrs Jones has sex with men and then poisons them. Neither of them is aware that their spouse is a serial killer, which is pretty hilarious in my opinion.
It was fun reading from both of their perspectives, especially when Mr Jones thinks about how he can't be exposed as a murderer or else his wife will lose her job, lol Also I really like that none of the pets are murdered in this novella. This is my third time reading something by Ash Ericmore and as always I am not disappointed by his work. :)
I run lines like I’m due on stage. “I just went out. We were having a romantic evening and we ran out of whiskey. I just went down the road. I couldn’t have been gone more than a few minutes.” It was twenty three. I did keep count. That should sell it to them. I don’t think I’ve missed anything.
A really fun easy read. Ash just keeps getting better. I love the humour mixed in with the blood and violence but most of all I love that there's a plot and a good story.
Man Ash Ericmore rules this was a awesome short story that has plenty of sex violence and gore and there were parts that made me laugh. This was just a satisfying quick read and I highly recommend this and all of Ash Ericmore cuz he fuckin rules
I’ve never cared much for extreme horror, usually due to the writing..but this, this! This was well written and almost totally believable. I will seek more from this author.
I love stories like these. And Ash Ericmore did not disappoint with this one! Truly, I was on Bells side, but the way this ended was rather hysterical! 4.5/5 stars rounded to 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was really good, just felt like there was something missing for me to give it 5 starts but overall a great read, think I’ve found my new favourite horror author
I enjoyed this short extreme horror read ! I love that they were both killers but that ending was shockingly good !! I liked the way it was written as well, and it was dual pov.
Another home run for Ericmore! Lots of sex and violence like we all have come to know and love from him. Honestly is always the best policy. Also of course an ending you won’t see coming.
