Pokonać demona to łatwizna.

Amy Meredith now lives in California, though she has lived and worked in New York and the Hamptons where our heroes, Eve, Luke and Jess, come from. She has always had a fascination with the supernatural and wishes she had a super power like Eve's - although in real life she says she would definitely prefer shopping to demon-fighting!

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first instalment, Shadows. Our main character Eve felt more confident while using her powers and the storyline was more engaging and well thought out.

A few months after Eve realises her potential and successfully defeated the Prince of Hell her science partner Kyle turns up dead in the woods with injuries that cannot be explained from anything on this earth. Eve, Jess and Luke start to investigate Kyle's death and they realise someone is letting demons in through a portal. They have to find where the portal is and who is controlling the lesser demons before more people get hurt.

Jess and Eve had a similar dynamic to the first book but I feel like they were stronger and ready for anything. Eve realises that she may have feelings for Luke and it was interesting to see that play out. I was surprised by who was behind the attacks but I liked being on the edge of my seat this time around as the previous book was predictable. This book ended nicely, I'm not sure what direction Meredith will take this story in next but I can't wait to find out.

This book was just as great as the first one.And finally Eve X Luke is happening. I was dying to scream why can't you see that you like the other one. This book shows the views of Eve and Luke both which is great. You can look into the chrachters minds instead pf thinking what they are thinking. Other than this Luke and Jess are great at being a support for Eve and they cannot be labelled as just side charachters. I loved this book from the start to the end.

The first book wasn't all that good. I always give iffy first books a chance in the second, because there's an editor and publishing house out there that thought it was good enough to print.

I've read half way through this one and decided that I don't have time to waste on this drivel. Characters- too many and all terrible.
Story- Buffy the vampire slayer
Plot- Non existent
Overall- Buffy was at least entertaining.

Amy Meredith, I am so sorry for this rotten review. This is not an attack on you personally. x

If I told you the truth about me reading this book I think — I know — you'd say "What the hell?", "How can you do that?", "That just not right." but I'm just going to say it. I read this book without reading the first one. I never thought I would do that because it's not normal for a reader, right ? The reason why I didn't read the first one was because I live in a pretty much unknown country and I rarely find english books here, but I did find the second one and I was just so in love with the cover and the story of this series, so I just bought it thinking I'd leave it in my bookshelf until I got the first book but frankly it seemed too good to leave it collect dust there so I started reading it thinking I'd just stop if the story didn't made sense — which was what I had expected — but the story was too good and I could not put the book down. Luckily, what happened in the first book seemed to have finished there and this book began with new mysteries and also what happened on "Shadows" was also described in this book so you wouldn't be lost. I felt very "in" the story and got very quickly connected to the characters.

I love books on which I get to love the main character and this is the case. Eve, the main character of the book, is one the characters I've loved the most. She's very down-to-earth and she knows how powerful her powers are and she's so determined to be in control of them and I loved how very caring she was. But I also like her fashion-obsession. I thought that made her look more normal. And that's of the main reasons I loved this book. It had such good descriptions about the people of Deepdene and the place itself so I got to get a picture of all the place and the people. Amy made the town, people and their lives so real. I really liked how easy this book was to read and it was so easy for me to imagine everything.

Another thing I adored in this book is the friendship of Eve and Jess. So genuine, so sincere, so inspiring, so lovely. I loved Jess as much as I loved Eve. She was a cheerleader and not one of those we think an empty headed but she was so supporting and mature but at the same time her sense of humor even in the most tensed scenes was so funny and made the book made even easier to read. I liked their girly, sensitive side and their inside jokes. It was just such a darn amazing friendship.

And then Luke is "AHHH". God, I seriously loved him and would fan-girl over him. He and Eve are so cute together and also apart. Luke is so freaking supportive and smart and the friendship of the three of them — Eve,Jess and Luke — is what I would even want for myself. The only reason I don't give this book the whole five stars is because I wished I could see Eve and Luke more together in that way. Their chemistry was so cute and they just need to be together!

This is pretty much what I think about this book. I wish I could read the first book but oh well, that didn't stop me from loving this amazing book. If you haven't read these books, definitely give them a try. They're such fast page-turners and you won't just read about demons and supernatural powers but also about teenage relationships, their feeling and their world. It really is amazing!

PS. When is Goodreads going to get a half star ? My feelings for this books are 4.5 out of 5 stars. ;)

Dark Touch; The Hunt is an entertaining and a scary read, I had a hard time putting the book down. Eve is trying to figure out how to control her powers - with good help from her friends Jess and Luke. Eve soon discovers that Luke means more to her than just being a friend. A reporter comes to town to write about the death of the football player, but Eve and her friends thinks that he is hiding something.

Even though I could see it coming, I liked the fact that the author has picked Luke as Eve's new love interest. And I also liked the fact that it isn't quite obvious what Luke actually is feeling. The author has done well with the balance between the love story and the horror story. The mystery about who or what are responsible for the killings, is always at the centre of the story. The love story just adds a little spice to the mix.

We get to know Luke a lot better in this book, and he is an interesting character. The more I read about him, the more I want to know.

This books is much more scarier than the first one, and the author uses a lot of the teqniques you could find in the movies. The beginning could be the opening scene in a horror movie. And the thrill does not end there. Everytime you are about to finish a chapter, something new happens that keeps you reading on and on, and the plot is not so obvious as in the first book. The author has really stepped it up a notch.

The ending was a big surprise for me, and I read as fast as I possibly could to find out what was going to happen next.

Dark Touch: The Hunt has everything I like in a book: it is about the supernatural, is thrilling, hard to put down, engaging and with interesting characters. I loved it. Now I am eagerly awaiting the release of the next installment in this series, Fever, which comes out in January.

Read this book if you would like a taste of the TV show "Supernatural" mixed with a hint of Gossip Girl.

Eve Evergold is back – and with demons once again. This time there are more demons to deal with in Deepdene. Unlike last time, however, these ones are willing to kill for what they want. And, to Eve and the town’s horror, they have already started…

I enjoyed this one way more than the first.

The characters have started to grow up! Both Eve and Jess seemed much more mature in this book, and their dealings with the demons and indeed with life seemed altogether much more appropriate as opposed to young teens running around scared out of their wits. I much preferred them in this novel as opposed to the first.

I’m a bit of a wuss. The demons in this one scared me. Properly scared me, as in, “I hope I can sleep tonight,” type of scared me. I had heard about these demons before in other literature/TV so I already knew a little about them… and I was still nervous. But that made it good and I did actually enjoy it!

There were new characters and a new society introduced in this novel, and I think that a) it’ll be good further down the line, and b) they added a fresh dynamic to the plot and storyline. Basically, Meredith did well in adding this extra in now and not too early, I felt it came around the right time, and in around the right way.

I read almost the entirety of this in one sitting, which basically tells you I didn’t want to put it down. Yes, I enjoyed it. Shoot me (please don’t). Therefore overall, I did enjoy this novel, and I’m looking forward to the next ones in the series. I’m starting to get emotionally invested in the characters (I probably shouldn’t: there’re only two books left in the series…) which makes for a more enjoyable read, and the plots are picking up, getting scarier and more fulfilling. I feel this series is definitely growing, and the sequel outweighed the first book. Even if the girl on the front cover is a little creepy...

Something is hunting. Something that will kill to get what it wants. And it isn't human. Eve knows that her supernatural powers are called for, but she'd rather focus on dating than demons and gorgeous Luke is, frankly, pretty distracting. He's already a friend - but could he be something more? Do Luke and Eve really have a future? And with demons on the hunt, will either of them live long enough to find out?

Ahem. Did I mention that in my review of Shadowsit was not really that good? Well, I may have to eat my words. Sorry.

This book is actually quite good. The action gets going pretty much straight away, and the fashion obsession is dimmed down slightly. Luke has become a part of the gang, and starts picking up the lingo preety quickly, which is very, very confusing. As some of the book is from his point of view, and he and Eve start fancying eachother. Awwwww. Cue demons, all set to drink blood and cause havoc, and you know what? The plotline is not as predictable as it could be. The 'bad guy' is not obvious from the start, isn't on the 'suspects' list or anything similar.

But the best thing about this book?

And that, my dear friends, is why this book is sooooo much better than the other one. Because they don't get what they want.

Eve and Jess are teenage best friends, shopping partners, and demon butt-kickers: the combined power of the Deepdene Witch and a hardcore cheerleader is a force to be reckoned with. Luke, the new boy about town who just happens to be a minister's son, is becoming part of Eve and Jess's team... but in a triangle of teenage friends, can friendship run smoothly?

Relationships, friendly and otherwise, are questioned when members of the Deepdene community start disappearing... only to be found in the kind of shape that calls for a closed coffin. Yeah, it's pleasant stuff.

Amy Meredith does a great job in describing the rising terror of the small-yet-exclusive town of Deepdene and yet keeping the fantastically adolescent voices of the characters realistic: let's face it, even if there were corpses of classmates turning up in the shrubbery, the important stuff like gossip, shopping, and ... uh... homework still go on.

Recommendation: The Hunt builds on the setup of story and characters from Shadows in a way that not only deepens the reader's relationship with both, but also provides a well-paced pageturner. I really enjoyed it.

Rating: 4/5

I am beginning to think that Amy Meredith has no flaws. I loved this book! Meredith has truly got me glued to her Dark Touch novels and I can not wait to read the next book in this gripping series. I really recommend that you read it.

The title, The Hunt should sort of give you an idea what this book will be about. Something is hunting humans. Something that Eve would rather not think about. But when people she knows are attacked Eve starts to unravel terrible secrets. Can she along with her best friend Jess and gorgeous new boy Luke stop all of this before it is too late?

If you have not already read the first novel in Meredith's novels I strongly advise that you do. If not then you probably will not know what I am talking about right now.

A really good quality in this book is that you get to know more about the characters. A character twist (that I was hoping was going to happen) was that Eve and Luke started to think about each other in a more than friendly way.

Luke is the new boy in the town and ever since he saw Eve's powers in the first novel it had brought them closer together, but in this novel you start to see a little spark between them. Unfortunetly this book left you on a cliffhanger between them so I will need to dive right into the next book to find out what happens.

This book is also a light read. I finished in a day!

4.5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eve , Jess and Luke are back in another great YA read. Humans are being slaughtered in the woods, hunted down. Eve must hone her skills to help stop what is happening and solve the mystery.

Hard to hone your skills when you don't even know what you are doing in the first place. Eve is developing feelings for Luke, the player, but is he still the player or is there more to their friendship.

Jess has shown great staying power as a character, always loyal, always there for Eve even if it is a fashion comment to make Eve feel better. Jess is the friend that may want to look her best, but digs deep and is rather fearless when called upon.

I do enjoy Jess and Luke's characters in this little series. They are a great trio of friends.

The 'Creeper' what's happened with her?? I feel there is more to be known and possibly be a mentor of sorts to Eve. She needs somebody or a manual on how to be a demon slaying Deepdene Witch..lol!!!

New things are learnt in this book and a nice twist to the story..didn't see that one coming. I had my suspicions. This book is a little darker than book 1. Am looking forward to 'Fever' when it is released...*taps foot waiting impatiently*...hee..hee:D

The portal of all hell is open, and Malphas isn't the only one that has escaped from another dimension. As Eve gets closer to finding out what is happening in Depedene, more deaths are on the rise. Will Eve, Jess and Luke ever find a way to close the portal, or will it be too late?

This book didn't disappoint me. I think i have kind of adjusted to the series now.. Ahh i just want Luke and Eve to be together, its killing me. You definitely have to read the first before you move on to the second because it will be confusion and you simply won't understand what is going on.

I have to say this book i found is definitely predictable and quirky but i still love it anyway. Doesn't come close to my favourite novels out there, but it is worth the read.

I still find the character Jess and Eve are still alittle needed but have definitely improved from the previous novel.

I give this 3.5 stars.

I feel that this book showed some amazing character development for Eve, Jess and Luke. All three have matured so much after all the events of the first book, despite it being mere months later. I loved how this book delved deeper into the demon world, and that Eve, Jess and Luke are really stepping into their roles as Deepdene's protectors. I loved all the new and exciting things that Eve is able to do with her powers, and how her best-friends, no matter what they are faced with, are always there by her side. I feel that the best friend relationships portrayed in Meredith's writing are so amazing, and so accurate too.

One by one people from Eve's school are getting picked off in the woods. Whatever is killing them isn't human. Eve, Jessie and Luke are back on the job doing research into supernatural beings and Eve's powers. Sparks are happening from more then Eve's fingertips but does Luke return her feelings?

Ok, it's a pretty silly series, but it's also fun. It's about designer shoes, boys and best friends. Pretty much was every teenage book is about. The bad guy was obvious right from the start but then again that isn't really what this series is about.

i loved this book, after reading the first one i had to read the second, so i started reading thinking brill everything going to be fine , but boom, demons !!
its really scary at the beginning when the first demon encounter started, there is romance, aka flirting, demon zapping, and makeup and fashion!!

I really liked how this book focused on a human who was corrupted by power! It showed so well that people you thought you knew really well, you may never have known them at all...
Eve and Luke dancing around each other is starting to annoy though! It was cute at the beginning, but now I just want them to be able to finally admit to how they really feel about each other!

I'm so glad I have finally read the sequel to one of my favourite novels growing up. The writing is definitely something I'd of enjoyed when I was 13.

I love the characters in this book, and I was rooting for the budding romance that still hasn't happened. The story was a bit boring in places, but it still gave us some quite good shocks. I will probably pick up the third novel eventually!

You do get this right gripping feeling while you read the book but I think doing a long book would have worked better than doing lots of tiny little sequence. And the first 40 pages of the book were boring in my opinion.
