R.J. Lloyd started off as a romance writer under another pen name. However, R.J. is the side of this award winning, best selling author that delves into fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, paranormal and all things action and spooky that she loves so much.
A Detroit area based author, R.J. writes both novels and short stories, always looking for the next interesting and slightly off kilter character to follow on an adventure with.
I was looking for a simple paranormal novella, so this came in handy. But it took too long before there was any use of magical power. I wish it had come sooner. 46% is quite late.
76% Such a weird time to get intimate.
79% “My heart and stomach both sank and leapt at the same time.” wut
The fight scene had wolves materialises out of thin air. Magical.
“You couldn’t take over a tea party.” Funny.
Overall, okay story. Not much to it. I wish it was more descriptive though. I couldn’t picture anything. I guess it’s because it was so short but nothing really happened. And all the characters talked A LOT. I probably wouldn’t remember it tomorrow :(
A very good story. Tale of a kind hearted werewolf in opposition to his monster of a father. Fighting for the witch who is the live of his life. Highly recommended read!
I love the novella. But I believe that it needed more time to develop, so you could fit in more descriptive backgrounds for both families and time to develop the magical and wolf sides. Because I felt like the book was almost over before any of this started to come out. Overall, I liked the novella, and I look forward to reading more from this lovely author!
If you are looking for a spicy paranormal read set in the real world, give this a try. I truly enjoyed it. The chemistry is there, and the plot is spot-on for a book this size. Highly recommended.
