Ludo introduces Cinda to the heady world of the super-rich, taking her to parties on yachts and villas all over Europe. Sparks start to fly as Ludo and Cinda spend more and more time together, and even cautious Cinda wonders if there might be something real between them. Then Gus, Ludo's twin brother and heir to the Sardinian throne, arrives to ruin everyone's fun. Gus is obsessed with duty, and having a commoner like Cinda around just isn't part of his plan. But when fate throws Cinda and Gus together, he's astounded to discover that he and Cinda get along well. So well, in fact, that he might be prepared to throw away everything to be with her...
http://www.divabooknerd.com/2014/03/t... It's been far too long since I've read a fun, flirty and romantic contemporary, and Twice Upon a Time was the perfect heartwarming read. It follows the story of Cinda, an Australian backpacking through Europe when she's swept up into a world of royal princes, lavish parties and brooding brothers. Cinda is a fun loving character, she's vivacious and isn't afraid to speak her mind, a quality that both Gus and Ludo both find irresistible. But under the surface, Cinda hides a sadness that even a luxurious lifestyle can't repair. Even though she's technically an adult, her mother has abandoned her for yet another man. This time, her mother plans to marry a man that Cinda has never met, move to New Zealand and entertain a new family that doesn't involve her only child. But Cinda doesn't dwell, and although hurting, she carries on and makes the most of the opportunities life is throwing her way.
I loved Jonas. He's the token sassy gay friend and budding fashion designer. He's fabulous and would love to read his story next. If you're looking for a light and heartwarming read that will sweep you into a lavish world of travel, then Twice Upon a Time is a flirty read that will leave you warm and fuzzy.
Although it’s a fun read, it still tackles some hard hitting issues like class, duty, the trappings of wealth and family separation. The changing backdrop of Sardinia, Paris, London and Barcelona helps keep the story moving, as well as adding glitz and glamour…probably why I couldn’t put the book down!
I really enjoyed this book and didn't want to put it down! It was well written and I liked getting sucked into a little fantasy realm where every girl at least once in her life dreams of getting swept away by a literal Prince Charming! It was cute and I enjoyed the end result :)
This book was lovely. It's definitely for a hopeless romantic, its fluff but in a good way. Forster transitions between the chracters seamlessly. I'd love to see a continuation if the nation ever found out.
Lucinda and her friend Jonas are backpacking through Europe when she meets the royal prince Ludovic and she is swept up into a world of lavish parties, private yachts and glamorous villas. But than Ludovic's twin brother Augustus , heir to the Sardinian throne arrives and ruins everyone's fun. His motto is duty over partying unlike his twin and having commoners around are not part of the plan. But when Ludovic has to leave suddenly and Augustus and to take his place. It's astounding to discover that Lucinda and Augustus get on really well. Forster gave great detail to the characters, you get to meet and understand each character.I enjoyed the sparks between Ludovic and Lucinda, the banter with Augustus and Lucinda, I liked Jonas, Lucinda's friend, he was highly supportive of her life, the circumstances she was in and supported her on this trip right up to her giving her fashion advice. The plot was carried by these well-rounded characters The book was divided in the 4 seasons, which was interesting in comparison to months .YET... I didn't fancy the ending, I felt it was not up to the rest of the book, it felt rushed which didn't fit the characters and all that i learned and loved about them in the book.
Loved this book, I didn't put it down until I'd read it cover to cover. Romantic, funny and not too PG but safe from Mills and Boons territory.
Only two complaints. In one or two chapters in the middle, it seemed to skip slightly like a moment or two were missing and the way Ludo ends up happily engaged after just proving himself so fickle is both confusing and hard to believe.
Otherwise a great book, haven't been that thoroughly captivated in a long time.

In the beginning ... this was one of those "are you kidding me" type books ... groan ... too cheesy ... too clichéd ... In the middle ... this was one of those sweet type stories ... naww ... this is all quite cute really ... In the end ... I surprised myself and enjoyed it!
I remembered I actually quite enjoy YA now and again :)
Very quick easy feel good YA novel that rolls on with the predictably you would expect (and enjoy) from it. The resolution was out of left field but played to the strengths of what you would expect the characters to do.
An absolutely amazing story! Loved it to pieces and loved the twist put in it. I love those stories that have a happy ending and this book has definitely given me one. I would read it over and over again.
