With his knack for bad luck, Liam isn’t surprised when he’s awarded house arrest after protecting a fan at his last show. What he didn’t expect was the girl of his dreams showing up with his lunch delivery and turning his confinement into an unexpected friendship. Despite his many love songs, he’s not big on relationships, but something about Kasey has him questioning his commitment to the single life. It doesn’t hurt that she keeps inspiring new songs.
Kasey isn’t a fan of the wealthy and famous, and Liam embodies both. But he’s also friends with A-lister Derek Riley, a Hollywood heavyweight who could open doors for her screenplays. Connections have burned her before, so striking up a friendship with Liam seems futile even though Liam keeps defying all her expectations, making her believe something good could happen in her life for once. But the last time she trusted someone, she ended up with more than a broken heart.
When a tabloid photo threatens Kasey’s coveted anonymity, Liam seizes the opportunity to invite her to hide out in his house. The problem? He has no clue if she’s staying for him or for his connections. But as their relationship deepens, he realizes he’s fallen too far to let her go. She has changed his whole world, and he just has to hope she’ll let him change hers in return.
I adored this book instantly. Liam is a favorite. I will be thinking about him for a while. I loved how Kasey had no clue who he was. And how it was so intriguing to Liam. Kasey’s under her breath muttering was so funny and one of my favorite things about her. And the accidental no clothes moment was hilarious. Kasey was so down to earth but she also had a history and I cheered for her in so many parts of the book.
I loved what plays out in the story. I was surprised many times by the plot. It was not what I was expecting and I loved being surprised. I don’t want to give more details because so many funny, darling, sweet, enduring, surprising things happen. I loved every page!
I received an eARC from the author. All views and opinions are my own.
This is the perfect romcom that would be a movie. So fun with a great meet and humor throughout.
Kasey is a food delivery person and this made me laugh because I’ve always been interested in the entire process. Reading her inner dialogue felt like validation to my curiosity. And she’s so relatable. (Of course she has big dreams!)
Liam is a random customer who gives her access to his house and life. And hellooooo Liam. He is so lovable. Picture your favorite celeb heartthrob who is also your neighbor. The neighbor you like.
This author checks off all the boxes ✔️ absolutely swoony leading man ✔️ best friends that we want to know everything about ✔️ so much fun and banter ✔️ total escape ✔️ the satisfying ending
Kasey and Liam might have had a rough start. Will they be able to trust or will life pull them apart? Such a fantastic start to a new series!
I have been looking forward to the start of this new series ever since I saw it announced! Moonstruck is just as fabulous as I expected! It is another amazing favorite from Dana LeCheminant!
Liam is super famous but seems to have a knack for bad luck and always being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This lands him on house arrest after trying to protect a fan at one of his shows. What he didn’t expect was for his lunch deliverer to turn into a friendship with the girl of his dreams. Kasey has no clue who Liam is and certainly didn’t expect to be tipped so well for delivering lunch. After an unexpected turn of events she finds herself becoming Liam’s temporary roommate. Although the two agree to be just friends, they can’t seem to ignore the growing attraction between them.
Being a huge fan of celebrity romances and Dana LeCheminant’s writing I knew I would love this book and boy did I ever! It was crazy good! Liam is the sweetest, cinnamon roll MC ever! I completely fell in love with him the more I read. He had the most amazing heart! Although at first he seems so confident and sure of himself, he had some vulnerability that brought depth to his character. He writes a lot of famous songs about love but he himself is afraid of love. Kasey has been hurt in the past and can’t believe someone like Liam wants to be her friend. Liam and Kasey’s first meeting was so much fun and one that I won’t soon forget. I loved their almost kisses, all the slow burn tension, and that amazing first kiss! Wow! Nelson the bird was such a fun side character and Liam’s friend group of other celebrities and an actual princess were so great! Dana excels at creating groups of friends that just fit together and care so much about each other. I laughed and swooned reading this. There were a few times I got goosebumps or shed a tear and I really felt that profession of love at the end. So beautiful! I couldn’t get enough of these two or this book!
What I loved: Celebrity romance Forced Proximity Slow burn Liam and Kasey’s first meeting “These are the towels of dreams.” Nelson the bird Jordan cameo The almost kisses Liam's friend group “She makes me think I can have more in my life.” “She held my hand on purpose.” Ted, Martha, and the neighborhood The amazing grand gesture
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but also bought a paperback copy for my shelf. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ok, my celebrity, forced-proximity romance-loving self adored this book—Liam is the sweetest cinnamon roll with the funniest pet bird and Kasey’s skepticism and clumsiness were the perfect pairing for a story filled with laughs, growth, tension, amazing friendships, and fantastic chemistry.
Things I Loved: -Taylor-tweeting terror -“I don’t know how friendships work where you’re from, but where I come from, friends don’t judge each other’s texting abilities unless it’s completely incomprehensible.” -“Lies” -Almost kisses -“This is closer than we’ve been in weeks, and I feel like our snuggly moment on the couch a moment ago was like my first taste of authentic Mexican food, and now I’m addicted.” -Humming -“She held my hand on purpose.” -“You are more than your murder bird, Liam Connolly.” -“Maybe you feel like home.” -A LOVE gesture -“Am I going to have to worry about you drowning for the rest of my life?” -The most epic and sweet grand gesture
I cannot wait for more from this awesome, eclectic group of famous friends!
What a wonderful story! If you are all about the celebrity romances right now (like I am) then you don't want to miss this one! It's the first book in the Starstruck Love Stories series, which features a variety of types of celebrity romances in each book. It's also the first contemporary book that I have read by this author and I am now excited to read the rest of this series.
I loved the uniqueness of this story. The way Liam and Kasey met was not only clever, but also set the stage for one of those "what if" types of scenarios. "What if" you were delivering food to someone's home and ended up meeting a famous celebrity. "What if" you were the celebrity and met a sweet and fun "normal/not famous" woman who delivered food to your house. "What if" you found the love of your life in the most unusual way?
Liam's group of celebrity friends was also such a boon to this story. I'm really looking forward to all of them eventually finding their happily ever afters!
Liam and Kasey had such great romantic chemistry together! They were also such genuine and caring people, especially Liam. His heart for others became very obvious as the novel progressed.
It’s not a secret that I love a celebrity and “normal person” romance, as well as a solid forced proximity and Moonstruck totally delivered. Delivered…hah! Kasey delivers food for a living, which leads to her first meet with superstar musician Liam and that whole encounter had me laughing so hard. Soooo hard!
I was completely starstruck by Liam’s friend group and the way most of the story took place in the confines of his Malibu home. The way that Liam and Kasey connected left me breathless. I loved the way their physical closeness resulted in both an emotional connection and sizzling attraction, but it also allowed them to work through past hurts and current issues.
🎸dreamy beachy sunsets 🌴a Hollywood gossip page 🎬an evil “Taylor-tweeting terror” 🎸loads of food deliveries 🌴song writing 🎬screenplay writing 🎸found family in a friend group 🌴cool pools 🎬cozy nights
Moonstruck satiated my thirst for an outstanding celebrity romance. But…I desperately need the friend’s stories…stat.

What an absolute joy to read! I always love Dana’s books and this one was no exception! Though the start of a new series, Starstruck, there are still connections to her previous series. I was so excited to read Liam’s book and to start reading about these lovely characters. Liam was a sweetheart! He was such a genuine person and so sweet with Kasey. I loved his earnestness and the way he was able to open up with Kasey. He was able to settle with her. I loved seeing Kasey’s growth over the book. She was drawn to Liam, but was trying to be realistic. She found support in Liam and his friends that allowed her to explore her dreams. Their romance didn't feel rushed and it was very endearing. I loved how they supported each other’s artistic endeavors. They were learning how to trust one another as well as to grow as a person. I loved seeing him with his friends too! They were all so engaging and I am excited to see more of them. I can’t wait to read more. Even as a first book, it felt balanced with not too much set-up, yet enough introduction to increase excitement for the rest of the series! The story moved along pretty quickly, but it might just have been how quickly I read it! I was invested in the light mystery elements and the sweet romance! This is a contemporary romcom with only kissing and some innuendos.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
Oh my goodness y'all I loved the forced proximity in this sweet romcom! An adorable romcom series you won't want to miss! I especially love the friend dynamics in this story!
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
I wanted to read this one as soon as I heard about it. Dana LeCheminant's contemporary romances/romcoms keep getting better and better. To me, nothing's better in a celebrity/non-celebrity romance than when the "regular person" doesn't know who the celebrity is. This is Liam and Kasey.
Liam is a rock star in a bit of a pickle. He's under house arrest for trying to protect a fan and injured his foot in the process. So, he has an ankle monitor on one leg and a medical boot on the other. Enter Kasey, food delivery driver who brings Liam his lunch and has no clue who he is. Because of a series of events, Kasey ends up staying at Liam's house for a couple of weeks and these new friends find it hard to deny the attraction they feel for each other.
Oh my goodness what a fantastic story this is!! Liam is the ultimate combination cinnamon roll and golden retriever hero. He often finds himself in trouble but it's not because he's looking for it. He and Kasey's first meeting is memorable in more ways than one! Kasey is so sweet, but she's been recently hurt and isn't looking to be hurt by someone "in the business" again. She and Liam are so good together, and when they finally kiss! Let's just say it was worth the wait!
There was so much I loved about this book: * Dual POV (my favorite) * Liam & Kasey's first meeting * Nelson the bird (hilarious) * Ice cream deliveries (IYKYK) * Song writing * Swoony kisses * Liam's friends * Forced proximity * The epilogues (yes, more than one)
This is a fantastic read from one of my favorite authors and I can not wait to get Liam's friends' stories. Do yourself a favor and block out time for this one. You won't regret it!!
What's up with the Rom-Com's these days?! A clever story line, adorable characters, hilarious meet-cute, but please just write the story and stop giving so much of the inner monologues!! I felt this way with Authentically, Izzy and The Tourist Attraction. Don't write the inner monologue of "I don't know if I can trust again" or "I don't want to take advantage because she's stuck here" over and over. Show it to me in the dialogue and their actions!! And maybe stop the constant POV shifting every chapter. I kept getting lost about whose voice I was reading. Now that my rant is over, because the book WOULD have been a 5 star if it were not for those things, this book really was fun! A food delivery driver, Kasey, has an encounter with a famous singer, Liam, who is on house arrest. The chemistry is great. The friends are fun side characters, maybe a tad unbelievable, but I'm ok with that. The neighbor sub-plot is hilarious. I actually stayed up past my bedtime to finish it because I actually wasn't sure how they were going to end up. It was a good, clean read which I appreciated. When I'm ready to dive back into the rom-com books, I will read the next one in the series. I would love a middle ground where there is still a light, clean read with humor and romance but a little more substance.
I love me a celebrity romance story and this one was perfect!!
When delivery driver, Kasey Graham, drops food off to a huge house in Malibu, she has no idea who lives there or that it’s the home of a famous musician. Heck, she doesn’t even know who Liam Connelly is!
After a series of unfortunate events (think nearly drowning, bird attacks, and wild tabloid stories) Kasey finds herself stuck in Liam’s home with him for the foreseeable future.
These two are SO cute! Liam is the cutest, sweetest musician around! And Kasey is an adorable want-to-be screenwriter! These two have the best chemistry and cute (and bumpy) road to happily ever after!
This story is so fun! Liam is such a cinnamon roll. I love the way he takes care of everyone around him. He’s the perfect contrast to Kasey and her hesitation. This book is full of laughs and tender moments.
Check it out if you like clean rom-coms with opposites attract and forced proximity.
Thanks to the author for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
Ooh this is a fun start to a great new series! This story was so enjoyable. Liam’s friend group is awesome and Kasey is perfect for him. There are several laugh out loud moments and the ending was perfection. I also loved Liam’s pet bird Nelson, he was a hoot! I am so so excited for the rest of this series.
“Okay, I love ice cream, but it doesn’t especially love me. I’ve been trying to bring you back the only way I know how.” He reaches into the pocket of his sweats, pulling out his phone and then holding it out to me. “Maybe you can make it easier for me?”
I shouldn’t. I really shouldn’t. But this man is like the sun, gravity pulling me toward him until I come dangerously close to getting stuck in his orbit.”
Where to start with this book: I absolutely love it!! It was the perfect read for my I-don’t-want-drama-in-my-life-but-will-happily-read-about-other-people’s-drama mood.
I didn’t think I was a contemporary romance kind of gal, but Liam and Kasey proved me wrong! Their unexpected, yet effortless connection interspersed with delightful moments, ridiculously awesome friends, and paparazzi was on point. So good.
Read this book if you like: 🍔 Food Delivery 🍔 Swimming 🍔 House Arrest 🍔 Writing Music 🍔 Forever Friends 🍔 Nelson 🍔 Screenplays 🍔 Trust 🍔 Dual POV
I received a complimentary copy; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was such a delight! I am a big sucker for celebrity romance, and one of my favorite authors, Dana Lecheminant, Is releasing a whole series of them! I’m so excited! The first book did not disappoint with a famous musician that I pictured like a taller, hotter beach bum Ed Sheeran. Well at least with his talent and the bit of Irish in him.
Do you see that cute little ankle monitor on Liam’s foot?!? Does that just scream FORCED PROXIMITY or what?! Another favorite trope and it was so much fun!
Kasey was so much fun and great match for Liam. And the parakeet? I almost want one now!
I absolutely loved all the aspects of this story and the different places the plot took us. Dana is such an incredible storyteller and she always finds ways to make my favorite tropes unique and so much fun!
I loved how the ending played out and all the sweet moments between our main couple, and all their awesome celebrity friends. I can’t wait to get the rest of their stories!
Romance, sweet, contemporary, rockstar Cinderella; series but stand alone read Liam and Kasey’s story was an accidental meeting, that ended in a force proximity situation. They both are attracted to each other, but hesitant, and find real feelings growing as the hive more of their hearts. Loved the secondary characters, premise, setting, and the backstory for both characters. Perfect growth for both of them as they get to know each other, and open their hearts to each other. Genuine, honest, caring, giving, and loving hearts made this a lovely read. They were both great foils, companions, friends, and soulmates. Lovely read and perfect fall.
Hooray to a new series!! This was an amazing start with plenty of hope for books to come, I can’t wait!
First of all, you know me, I love music as part of the plot. I adored Liam’s character and getting a glimpse into his life as a superstar, especially how his life gets upended by a certain delivery girl 😉 Kasey was adorably clumsy and super relatable. The dynamic between these two was to die for, with a horrible (amazing) meet cute and forced proximity perfection.
The side characters really shined through in this story and I’m already super invested in how they’ll appear in future books. Pick this up and thank me later for your dose of Liam Connolly 😍
What a great book! I loved all the unique aspects of this one: celebrity with celebrity friends, house arrest, food delivery, mysterious neighbors, a singing parakeet... Plus so much more all rolled into one!
Kasey is such a sweetheart! She is such a great character and she has such a good backstory and set up! I enjoyed seeing her confidence grow, both in herself and in others! Liam is SO GREAT!!! He has such a giving soul and hold tight to his toys and where he came from. A truly grateful character for all that had worked out for him to get where he got! His bad luck because he just was so kind was so sad--but so sweet!
This book is cozy and delicious and sweet and I loved it. It is a great start to the new series and I am beyond excited to see where it goes. Plus, we got to see Jordan for a second. I love him.
If you like celebrity romances, forced proximity, crazy pets, dramatic neighborhoods, music, ice cream, and books by Dana LeCheminant, read this one. Her books are just incredible.
This was such a great read and a fantastic start to a new series ✨! The crossovers are epic and I loved everything about it! Loved Kasey & Liam together🤎
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Liam & Kasey’s points of view
– a character accidentally sees another naked (no description & quickly looks away)
Review:
I’ve been loving Dana LeCheminant’s contemporary romances ever since Love on Camera released (I haven’t gotten to the ones prior to that yet!) and I love that each of the series have been in the same world! I love getting cameos of past characters and seeing how these new characters know them. (This book in particular has a cameo from a main character from Crossing the Brooklyn Briggs.) I love that though I know the cameo characters, you also don’t have to have read their stories to enjoy this story.
Liam is such a sweetheart and I loved his odd way of trying to meet Kasey again after unexpectedly enjoying his time with someone not famous. I loved that he had a heart of gold and wanted to protect people. I also loved his budgie’s interjections in conversations and how the budgie was loved by Liam’s fans. I found it interesting how the budgie reacted to Kasey as well. She wanted nothing to do with him, but that didn’t stop the bird from wanting her attention it seemed. I loved getting to know Kasey and why she was different from other random people that Liam could have unexpectedly met. She was shy and mindful of the differences in their lives, but also didn’t want to take advantage of Liam’s money or friends. I loved both of them so much and was consumed by their story from beginning to end! I can’t wait for Bonnie & the other famous friends’ stories to come!
Summary:
Liam is under house arrest for protecting someone who was attending his concert. While annoying to have yet another bit of bad luck hit him, Liam was given a gift in disguise. He hasn’t had luck creating new music for his upcoming album and now he’ll have time to really sit down and get things done, assuming he can find his muse. He never expected it to come walking through his door in the form of a woman delivering his food order. And when the woman doesn’t even recognize him as a famous singer/musician, Liam finds himself wanting to get to know her better…
Kasey doesn’t want to be famous, but does hope that one of her screenplays will be made into a movie someday. When she accidentally stumbles upon Liam in her delivery route, she’s not interested in getting to know him at first because of his position in society. But when she discovers that he knows someone with a strong connection to the movie industry, Kasey knows it’d be in her best interest to befriend to him in the hopes that he’d be willing to pass on one of her screenplays. She never expected to be roped into a social media frenzy that requires she stay with Liam or risk her identity being discovered. And she never expected to fall for him…
What I loved: Cinnamon Roll MMC Forced Proximity That beginning Nelson the parakeet (hilarious!) Bonnie’s character Loyalty and Friendship Liam’s nickname for Freya The teensy bit of mystery involved Spying on neighbors Almost drowning
I have a new celebrity crush! Liam, Liam Connolly is my new celebrity crush! 🫠🫠🫠 I seriously loved this book so much! Those first two chapters had me laughing out loud and wanting more and by the end of the book, these characters had me emotional and literally crying tears of joy and happiness! Liam is so incredibly thoughtful and kind towards others. I loved his character. Kasey has so many self-doubts, but by the end of the book you will come to really like her. I loved them as a couple. And am so excited to read more of them in the rest of the series! The way Liam’s friends are so loyal to each other and have each others’ back makes this book even greater. The bit of mystery had me intrigued. And let’s not forget to mention Nelson, Liam’s parakeet! Lol! Good Buddy Bird!
Thank you to the author for a free ecopy of the book. The opinions expressed here are my own.
If you haven’t yet borrowed this one from KU or purchased it yet, do yourself a favor and go grab it now! You will not regret it!
CW: kisses only, accidental nudity (nondescriptive, nonsensual), talk of past altercation, h***-bent TW: house arrest, arrest by police
A new romcom series about celebrity best friends by Dana LeCheminant? YES PLEASE.
What happens when a famous musician and food delivery driver’s worlds collide? A whole lot of accidents, fun, and sweet romance that’s what!
Liam and Kasey have quite the eventful first meeting! And well, it just spirals from there on 😂, in the best possible way! After a series of events, Kasey and Liam are forced to lay low from the public eye. Being cooped up in the same house has its advantages though! Liam and Kasey really get to know one another and I loved seeing their relationship blossom. Kasey had a hard time letting her guard down at first because of previous experiences but she can’t help but trust Liam who is so genuine and wears his heart on his sleeve. I really loved how transparent Liam was! Any and all emotions were never a secret. And he really taught Kasey that there are good people out there and that she can trust again.
This is the first book in the series and it’s a great kickoff to the inside world of this group of celebrity friends. I really loved seeing them interact and getting to know each one a little better. I can’t wait to get all of their stories!
Another awesome Dana book!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have adored each and every single one of Dana’s books and Moonstruck is just as fabulous.
Liam is the biggest, cutest cinnamon roll hero ever and I love him to pieces. He is scared of love, even though he writes love songs and sings his heart out about them on a regular basis. But when he meets Kasey, his heart is home.
Kasey is super scared of everything, and I don’t blame her. Especially with all of her past relationship crap. She has been lied to and taken advantage of, so when she meets Liam, she doesn’t know quite what to think. Fear of trust is a really hard thing, but when you find that one person you can trust, you just know.
I love the two of them so much and the side characters were just as awesome. Let’s not forget about Nelson the bird. I love Nelson!!! I am excited for Lovestruck!!
*I received a copy of this book as an ARC reviewer, but a positive review wasn’t required. All thoughts are solely what I personally thought of this beautiful book.❤️❤️❤️
Another stellar tale from one of my favourite rom-com queens!
Is there anything more lovely than a supportive friend group? And that friend group finding love? Dana gave us the Wonder Boys. And then the Briggs sibs. Now, we get the celebrity circle of friends, and I’m SO HERE FOR IT!
Liam is about the most unlucky Irishman I’ve ever met, and Kasey is the muse he needs. They’re straight up adorable! And Nelson is a star. Give the parrot a round of applause!
And now I’m dying for the rest of the series! (Particularly about Bonnie & a certain writer we met in Chad’s book *cough, cough* but also Cole… who am I kidding, I need all of them ASAP!)
Favorite parts: - Texting Jordan (I love seeing character from Dana's other books!) - Delivery of sushi - Nelson - Delivering ice cream - Spying on Liam's neighbors - Video chat with Liam's friends - The almost kiss! - Bonnie - The Kiss! - The Grand Gesture - Time to celebrate
This story was so cute! I loved their meet cute and how he tried to see her again after their first meeting!
I really enjoyed the aspect of their forced proximity and I love them getting to know each other better.
I love how Liam and Kasey bring out the best in each other and are able to help each other in ways that they didn't think they could.
Liam's friends are awesome! They are great side characters and I look forward to reading their stories.
Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
