DOC Everybody had a secret. An obsession with playing doctor was mine. I'd learned from a young age how to use these dark urges inside of me for good. It gave me the ability to be the fun-loving club brother that I was. The secret body farm was my solace. The dark agony within me subsided and pretending everything was okay, became easy. All until her. The one we saved, and the one that never left.
Karisa. The darkness wasn't black. It was red and my favorite color. He thought he could save me. That the demons of my past would release me of their tedious hold once we'd hacked away at their grip. But he was wrong. I had a life before I was kidnapped and it wasn't much better than the Hell he had saved me from. He had wanted to consume me, take away all of my pain so that all I felt was him. But if he wanted me he had to understand… I wasn't a hostage to my pain. I was that b!tches Master.
Dark romance and Paranormal/ Urban fantasy Author.

She’s an avid reader and despite living with disabilities pushes herself to be someone who her family, husband and son’s are proud of. She’ll always face her struggles and adversities in the face with a big F you! Where will you find her? Under the duvet living her best life! Trigger Warning- Dark themes and tragic stories. My work will always be on the darker side, with happily-devil-afters. Degrees of dark and tragic vary. Soft to hard. I have no middle ground. There are no boundaries. It's where the story takes me. No cheating, my Heroines would eat their Alphas and then there would be no story. Know your worth! We'll love you anyway. I write paranormal fairy tales and dark romance for the dark hearted. Queen's in black kicking ass and King's on their knees, worshiping their women. So my question, will you take immortality by the hand? XOX- Emmaleigh.
I love this series for how dark and messed up it is. I do wish we got to see more of Karisa and Doc's relationship in the beginning. It kind of just throws us in the middle of their relationship just before they make it public to the group. This book goes into some pretty messed up scenarios with the cult Karisa was in and all the rituals she was forced to participate in. *******SPOILERS AHEAD******* She even performs one near the end of the book. It also goes into Doc's body farm and what he does with the people he finds that are committing terrible acts; like the woman that was gr*ping her son. Totally got what was coming to her.
The only reason I gave this book 4 stars is because I think the use of pop culture references is weird and doesn't make sense with how they are used. I especially don't think Doc would know vampire diaries and how "Damon Salvatore dances.". The Walking Dead, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries are all referenced and titles italicized when they are. It's kinda cringy, in my opinion. It took me out of it, especially since they were used throughout the book.
Otherwise, this book and this series are definitely a favorite of mine. Even if they are over the top, I get excited every time a new one comes out. (Ouija is still my favorite, though)
Wow Karisa has been through some serious dark things. Her family is crazy. She is just as dark as Doc. Doc has a hidden warehouse that he does cleanup at. You will have to read to find out what it is.
Emmaleigh Loader has done it again! I love this series and I love that Emmaleigh is not afraid to go dark. And this book is dark! It even has a body farm! That may sound crazy! But trust me there is good reasoning haha. I have been waiting for this book and it delivered and then some.
I love the fact that Doc and Karisa have their own demons that they are fighting but together they help each other in the best ways. We know Karisa from previous books but it is so good to see her story and where she has come from. Here I was thinking everything that she went through with Melina was bad... I was wrong. That poor women has been through unimaginable things that I am amazed she isn't more messed up.
And Doc, I just wanted to hug him and never let him go! I loved him in the previous books and that has not changed!
If you love a dark MC book this is 100% for you! I also love the nod to friends in this as well! Also can we talk about the world building, my goodness it is fantastic! I can not get enough!
I have so loved all the books in this series. However, this book just fell flat for me. It seemed to be repetitive about the two main characters and what they went through so many times. Took forever to really get into the main part of the story. The book was good, but could have been much better. That being said, I hope that there will be more books in this series.
I had the release date on my calendar & it wasn’t there then a new date & it came & went… I was giving up… then all of a sudden new book by a favorite author…. Doc has been released that was 2 days ago… it only took me that long because the stuff I had to do, didn’t want to put it down… my selfishness just wants to know when the next one is coming out?? 😁. Thanks for another good read!
I have been patiently waiting for Doc and Karisa’s story since we met them in Savage; worth the wait.
Zane and Karisa have their demons but no one has any idea how deep those scars go and how long they’ve been suffering. Both are too stubborn to talk to anyone and work through their darkness.
This story is very dark and twisted, but the bonds that are created are lifelong.
The storyline was amazing and heartbreaking, little bird was sexually traumatized by her cult family. She escapes to be captured by sex traffickers. The kings wolves MC rescues her and she becomes part of their family. She also meets Doc and begins a healing journey.
The long awaited Doc is finally here and holy cow it's a spine tingler both Doc and Karisa have dreadful past that they have managed to survive, but could come back to cause more damage @ anytime. There's no putting this book down until it has been read in it's entirety. Numero Uno book this year.
This was definitely worth the wait! The way that they interact together and Doc makes sure to give Karisa space till she's ready made this all the more better. I had been waiting for their book, and it was everything I hoped it to be.
I was very happy to read this story. Karisa and Doc are both pretty dark characters. Two damaged people can always help heal each other though. This was one of those book I had a hard time putting down. I was captivated by them.
If you thought all MFC of these series have been suffering all their life? Well this one will blow you away even more. She goes through so much in her life, it’s really surprising she’s still around. Needless to say this is a very dark book, so it’s only fitting.
Doc thought, I was really looking forward to his story and I did enjoy the book, but feel like maybe there wasn’t enough focus on him. It may just be me, seeing I have a weak spot for military and MC members 😁 would still highly recommend reading it if you like dark books 😊🖤
