Hold on -- because Search and Detect is an explosive ride from start to finish! This gripping story brings together single mother Zoe Jenkins and FBI Special Agent Chase Rawlston, whose lives collide in the aftermath of a bomb that obliterates Zoe’s home—and their worlds. Talk about a chaotic entrance!

Zoe’s determination to protect her baby girl, Kylie, is palpable. In the midst of her overwhelming fear and uncertainty, she embodies strength. I love how she leans into her faith: “She’d learned not to rely on anyone except God.” That’s a powerful reminder for us all, right? Zoe's unwavering trust shines through even when life detonates around her, throwing her into the chaos of a bomber’s deadly agenda. And let’s not forget that beautiful quote where she reflects on God’s goodness, even in the midst of pain: “But I know that God has me in His hands … Circumstances may not turn out the way we want. In fact, they rarely do. That doesn’t negate God’s goodness.”

Chase is a complex character, grappling with the weight of the loss of his family. You feel for him as he tries to shield Zoe and Kylie while navigating his own heartache. The redemption arc he travels is heartwarming, and the journey toward healing is expertly woven into the narrative. Watching him slowly open up and find peace that only God can give is truly special. There’s a beautiful moment where Zoe just sits with him in his misery, and it nearly detonated my emotions! It’s such a sweet and simple reminder that sometimes, just being there for someone is what they need most.

The suspense? Oh boy, Terri Reed knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! The action unfolds at a breakneck pace, and I couldn’t put the book down. Chase and his K-9 partner, Dash, are a dynamic duo, uncovering clues and chasing down leads while keeping Zoe and her daughter safe. The tension rises like a ticking time bomb as they inch closer to identifying the notorious Rocky Mountain Killer—who always seems one step ahead.

What I appreciate most is how Reed masterfully balances suspense with moments of tenderness. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, bam—another twist! The romantic tension between Chase and Zoe builds beautifully amidst the chaos. Their shared moments, filled with both sweetness and vulnerability, are absolutely heart-melting.

Terri Reed has crafted a story that beautifully illustrates biblical truths about God’s sovereignty and His unfailing love. It’s a suspense novel and it’s a journey of faith, redemption, and finding light in dark times. Search and Detect is a must-read if you’re craving an exhilarating escape that touches the heart.

My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

This romantic suspense story kept me eagerly turning the pages right to the very end. It is part of a multi-author series where the overall theme is finding a serial killer. However, I had no problem jumping into this book, even though it was book eight of the series. I was able to become invested with both of the main characters and hope for both a successful apprehension of the villain, while also enjoying the romantic connection that was growing between Zoe and Chase.

Zoe and Chase had both been hurt before. Chase was a widower who also lost his child, while Zoe was a divorced single mom to a baby girl. They were both fearful of giving their hearts and trust away again only to worry that they would lose the person they had come to care for.

This story was packed with danger and some twists and turns to keep it interesting. And even though I only began reading this series with this book, I was eager to find out who was behind all of the mayhem.

(4.5 stars)

Search and Detect is the first book I have read by Terri Reed. I enjoy the Love Inspired line of books, they are quick reads.

Search and Detect started with a bang, but then the story slowed considerably. The story started talking about the Rocky Mountain killer and all the people it had impacted and their connections to others. It was too many characters mentioned at one time. It was like the author was trying to connect all the books in the series to this one event. Even as the story progressed we were constantly being introduced to peripheral characters and it was just too much.

Zoe is an admirable character. She is dealing with a lot and handles it well. Her priority is her daughter, but she also cares for her community. She is planning a reunion because she wants to bring her community closer together, despite the fact the Rocky Mountain killer has not been caught.

Chase is also an interesting character. He has past trauma he is dealing with, and having Zoe and her daughter around magnifies his loss.

There is plenty of action and suspense to keep the story moving. Things are not as they seem and it is hard to figure out if all the events are tied together or if several different things are happening. I did not figure out who the Rocky Mountain killer was.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an action packed book. I could tell this story was going to be good right from the first chapter. There was never a dull moment in the story that I couldn’t put the book down. I really enjoyed the main character Chase and his dog Dash. It was interesting to read about what commands the dog knew how to do, especially searching for bombs. The suspense I felt about capturing the Rocky Mountain Killer had me hooked. I liked reading about all of the connections and details in the case. I felt terrible for Zoe because she was constantly being targeted. The romantic suspense between Zoe and Chase was spot on. This was a great thrilling read with tons of action and danger along with a bit of romance and a beautiful ending. The story had twist and turns that kept you wanting to read more.

I am a huge fan of this author’s work and I read all of her books. I didn’t realize that this book in particular was the final in a continuity series, but it was fun reading how everything worked out while Zoe and Chase got their happily ever after ❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting and well-paced mystery about attempting to find and apprehend a serial killer who has been terrorizing a town for years. Add in well-trained canines, a baby, and a clean romance it holds the reader’s interest well.

Definitely a finale worth waiting for. I have been wondering about the RMK for the whole series and it was great to finally have a resolution to that mystery as well as the mystery surrounding Zoe in this story. This was one I read basically in one setting because I needed to know what was gonna happen next. Enjoyed!

Terri Reed blew me out of the water with this book! Search and Detect follows a single mother, Zoe Jenkins, and her baby when their house is destroyed in an explosion. Zoe gets rescued by FBI agent Chase Rawlston along with his Dash, his K-9. With Chase's fear that Zoe has gotten in the crosshairs of the Rocky Mountain Killer, he will stop at nothing to protect Zoe and her baby, even if it means with his life. But was it the Rocky Mountain Killer who placed the bomb, or is there a deeper threat looming?

In Search and Detect the action never stopped! I could never guess what was coming next, and the twist in the ending was so good! This page turner will leave you on the edge of your seat and your draw dropped! I also loved the Christian themes weaved in this novel, and I loved the character development between Zoe and Chase.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This book was a page turner! I read it almost in one sitting!
Terri Reed is a new author to me and I’m definitely going to keep on reading her books!
This book is part of a series called “Mountain Country K-9 Unit”, which all have in common a serial killer known as the Rocky Mountain Killer. Although this book can be perfectly read and enjoyed as a standalone, I do recommend to read the others in the series first (that’s what I’m going to do now, go back and read from the first one), so you can see all the history behind this serial killer. Maybe that way you can manage to discover better who the serial killer is. For me it was a complete surprise!
The story is fast paced, especially at the beginning, where Zoe Jenkins and her infant daughter Kylie fall victims of a bomb attack that destroys their home, but thankfully, they survive unscathed. It is Dash, FBI special agent Chase Rawlston’s K-9, who discovers where the bomb was set. Zoe is the sister of one of the RMK victims a decade ago, and Chase is the head of the task force searching for the elusive killer. Zoe has become a target, but what are the RMK motives? Can Chase keep her and Kylie safe and hidden from the killer? Can he discover who the killer is before he murders more innocent lives, and end the terror that has taken hold of Elk Valley?
The book kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting to discover and capture the RMK and rooting for Chase in protecting Zoey and Kylie. I loved how protective he was of them. The plot has unexpected twists until the end, and oh my, what an ending!
The book is also easy to read and the characters are easy to fall in love with. I admired Zoe’s strength. Being a divorced single mom with an infant, her faith in God is what makes her go on and not give up. I loved how she did everything in her power to keep her daughter safe. But in the end, she knew she had to surrender their safety to God, who is the only One in control. Chase’s past made my heart ache for him. Having lost his wife and daughter, it is difficult to him to open up his heart to love again, and risk being hurt. The same for Zoe after her ex-husband’s abandonment. But it was beautiful to see how, as their friendship grow, and their feelings too, Zoe’s faith in God lightens Chase’s lack of faith. They both help each other, and the dangerous circumstances only motivates them to discover what is truly important: God’s love and trust His grace to overcome any battle that comes their way. Chase’s interactions with Kylie were endearing, while it was also a source of pain as it brought memories of his losses. This is a story of healing and redemption too.
There are many secondary characters, that’s why I think it may help to read the series in order. In any case, the plot is engaging and very suspenseful. I love that the romance wasn’t the main focus of the story, but it was sweet and swoony enough, and the faith inspired message is thought provoking and didn’t feel preachy.
I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author but wasn't required to post a positive review. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

ALL THE STARS!

Okay, THIS is how you write a Romantic Suspense! In SO many romantic suspense stories the suspense portion takes over and you are just left with romantic moments here and there. But Terri, gosh, she is the best! She has this way of keeping you on your toes the whole time, fully engaged, and yet there are these swoon-worthy moments where you are just totally there in the moment and it is SO sweet! If you haven't been following this series you are missing out on the build-up leading up to this story. That said, I think this story can stand alone if you want to hop in at Terri's book and experience it the way I just did! You will love this! And best yet, there is a set of novella's (different authors) coming out later in the year that should close off this series even better! Read this book!

In this story, there is a bomb that goes off at single mother Zoe and baby Kylie's home. FBI Special Agent Chase and his K9 Dash report to the scene. Not knowing if it is tied to the notorious Rocky Mountain Killer, Chase is determined to keep Zoe and her daughter safe. The problem is, that whoever is targeting them seems to always be a step ahead. And there are no signs that it is the RMK. So many different crimes are occurring in their community and Chase just wants answers. In the midst of trying to keep Zoe and Kylie near so they can remain safe, it brings back memories for Chase... he lost his wife and son in an explosion, so this case is a hard one for him to work.Worst of all, he doesn't want to fall for Zoe, he is broken and not ready. Zoe is also struggling with the feelings she is starting to have for Chase. Unsure of whether they are due to her needing him to keep her safe, or just how vulnerable she is right now. Neither are able to even sort their feelings when they are spending every second trying to stay alive. Who is after Zoe and why? Who is threatening this community? Can they finally find out who the true Rocky Mountain Killer is?!

I want to say Chase is the total hero in this story because honestly, he is such an amazing man. But Zoe truly is also there for him. He is saving her physically, but she is saving him emotionally (mending his heart) and it is wonderful to watch!

Wow! This story literally starts off with a bang! Search and Detect by Terri Reed is an intense, fast-paced, romantic suspense that grabbed hold & kept me quickly turning those pages. It’s my first book in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series but I was easily able to enjoy the story without having read the previous ones. Loved the second chance, single mom romance & all the twists & turns.

Zoe Jenkins has a lot on her plate as a single mom trying to run a business & planning a huge reunion. She’s hoping to bring the town together after dealing with the murders of her brother & other victims of the Rocky Mountain Killer. But, someone in the town doesn’t want that to happen. Her’s & her baby girl’s lives are threatened when a bomb is detonated in her home after receiving a phone call with maniacal laughter on the other end.

FBI special agent Chase Rawlston & his K-9, Dash have been investigating the Rocky Mountain Killer for years hoping to bring him to justice. When Zoe & her daughter are in danger, he steps in to offer them a place to stay. After his own personal tragedy, he’s leery of starting another relationship, but feels drawn to Zoe & wants to protect her & the little girl who’s captured his heart. With each attempt on Zoe’s life, he starts to believe that this is related to the serial killer & vows to once & for all end the killing spree.

This book was a fast moving suspense with several moving parts. It definitely kept me guessing with a host of suspects & motives. I enjoyed trying to figure out who was behind the murders & attempts on Zoe’s life. The romance between Zoe & Chase was so sweet. I loved seeing them reconnect & Chase finding healing as he renews his faith. I also adored Dash! He’s a star all on his own & I enjoyed the way the author portrayed him in such a realistic, cute way.

Highly recommend to Christian romantic suspense fans! Though part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased a copy through Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.

Bro I do not trust goodreads reviews after this book. It was rated 4.65 stars wtf???? Okay this review is going to contain spoilers but I wouldn't really recommend the book anyway. Genre is romance/mystery. I really disliked the writing style. It was so basic but then would have random complex words to describe basic things as if the author was literally using a thesaurus. I had been searching for a romance that is more sophisticatedly written but boy this was not it. For example, when the main guy police officer was interviewing a girl, he said "did xyz have any beef with xyz", in what world is that phrasing used in a real police investigation??? Also at the end a killer let the victims tie their hands and ankles themselves .... what killer on Earth would do that, she just tied them so that they were loose enough to take off like anyone would and then that was basically how she escaped wtf weak af plot. Ok to cut the book some slack it was pretty engaging and I was hooked at the end when all the action happened. A major disappointment was that the serial killer turned out be literally one of the two main suspects so it was very anticlimactic and we didn't even know much about the killer so there was no emotional connection. The romantic element was kinda boring like it was established from the very beginning, there wasn't anything interesting to it. The woman was a victim to a house bombing so she was staying in the male police officer's house. Both in the couple had past trauma which made them hesitant to trust again but there was hardly any character development. I actually wanted to kms when the woman said i love you when they weren't even together. But then the end was so clique and predictable he proposed to her and they weren't even dating what??? It was just a sudden expected happy ending. There were also too many minor side characters I had no idea who some of the characters mentioned were. Anyways rant over, read if you aren't picky about quality lol and just want something fast-paced and engaging. It was also the 8th in a series but that didn't matter no context was required.

I love these K-9 series from Love Inspired Suspense. If you are not familiar with them, each book is written by a different author. There is a plot/mystery running through the whole series, but each book has its own mystery and romance.

These series intrigue me, because the same team of people appear in each book, so the authors have to know what is going on in the other authors' books. And this is the book where all was revealed. (There is one more book, but it is a Christmas one with two stories and takes place after the big mystery has been solved).

Reed is one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors, and she did a great job on this book where the series long mystery is finally solved. And it has been a long time coming. The first book, Baby Protection Mission, came out in March.

This book features the leader of the task force, Chase, and his K-9 companion Dash. I loved the book and the characters - new and old - and the new and old mystery as Chase did his best to protect Zoe and her daughter while also trying to bring the Rocky Mountain Killer to justice.

A lot happened in this little mass market book, and I didn't want to put it down until I finished it. It was an awesome read, and I loved everything about it. Especially finding the identity of the killer after so many books, and seeing him brought to justice.

Special thanks to the author for an advance copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Who is so wicked that they blew up Zoe Jenkins' house... while Zoe and her baby girl were still in it? Is there a connection between this crime and the Rocky Mountain Killer's reign of terror? If not, can K-9 Unit Director/FBI Special Agent Chase Rawlston and his team catch all the murderers?

"Search and Detect" is the explosive (pun unintended) concluding 8th book of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series. Author Terri Reed not only has the job of concluding the running stories (catching the above mentioned serial killer who also stole a therapy-dog-in-training from the K-9 Unit and finding out who is terrorizing their tech guru Isla Jimenez), but she also is telling a moving and exciting story with Chase Rawlston and Zoe Jenkins.

As mentioned, this book is the 8th in the series, and since it is the finale, of course you'll want to read the preceding seven novels so you know what's going on. (Technically, there is a ninth book involving characters featured in the previous books, such as Isla, but the main story ends with this one.)

As typical, this multi-author series is exciting, and this one is one of the strongest in the group (as well as having one of the best covers, though I think the one for competing with book 5 - Montana Abduction Rescue - tops it. In other words, I highly recommend this series, and "Search and Detect" in particular.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Search and Detect. This is book eight and basically the end of the continuity series Mountain Country K-9 Unit. Terri did an incredible job on this book tying up all the loose ends in a dramatic way. I know you are going to love this book.

Zoe Jenkins is a single mother of an adorable nine-month-old. She is a registered dietitian. She works at the hospital and caters from her home. She receives a phone call with nothing but maniacal laughter. She hangs up and takes the baby into the nursery for her nap. As she changes her the kitchen they had just left explodes.

FBI Special Agent Chase Rawlston hears the explosion from the police station. He and his task force (Mountain Country K-9 Unit) run the short distance to the explosion site. Zoe is the sister of one of the first victims of the Rocky Mountain Killer. Is he going after the victims families' now? He must protect the mother and child even though it breaks his heart he couldn't saves his own wife and child.

An incredible journey to stay a step ahead of the killer. God has a plan for these three souls. A plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan for peace and not destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.

I confess I haven't read the other books in this series, but it was fairly easy to piece together what was happening in the case of the RMK. This book starts with Zoe and her young daughter having a bomb set off in their house. I can't imagine the terror that would set off in your life! Zoe's jerk ex-husband has left her and she's a single mother. Her first thought is to protect her baby, of course! I connected with Zoe throughout the story. She was caring, thoughtful and made good decisions. Chase is the head of the RMK task force and is FBI. He lost his wife and child a few years ago and carries that deep in his emotions. He vows to never let another woman in this life but also vows to keep Zoe & Kylie safe from this mad bomber. I really liked Chase's father, Liam. What a sweet older gentleman he was! The whole task force was made up of excellent individuals and I liked both their professionalism and their caring natures. The story had a lot of twists and turns & also a lot of action. I read the whole book in one day because I couldn't put it down! I had to see how it ended! I didn't see the end coming!

Search and Detect is a Love Inspired Suspense that is written by Terri Reed. This is book 8 in the Mountain Country K9 series. I have not read the whole series, and I did not have any issues following along. I have read a lot of this author's work. One thing is guaranteed you will be drawn in within the first few pages.

Zoe is a single mother. One day her home explodes and she finds herself being saved by FBI special agent Chase Rawlston and his K-9, Dash. Zoe is a strong character. She is a single mom who wants to fiercely protect her child. Chase has had a lot of hurt in his past, including the loss of a child. Chase is worried that Zoe has somehow found himself in the crosshairs of the Rocky Mountain Killer. Her sister was a victim in the past.

The book moves along at adrenaline pounding pace. The author has done a great job in filling in back stories of the characters. The Characters are well developed. She also does a great job at leaving you on the edge of your seat. I had to sit and read this in one sitting.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

Search and Detect by Terri Reed is a page turner. I enjoyed getting to know Zoe Jenkins, FBI Agent Chase Rawlston, and Chase’s K9 partner, Dash. I love Dash who is clever and protective. The characters are complex, especially Chase who is struggling with the loss of his wife and child. Zoe and Chase are both fearful of loving and trusting someone again. If Zoe and her daughter are going to survive, she will need to trust Chase (and Dash). There is danger, suspense, and action which kept the story lively. I enjoyed the twists and turns as they work to identify the Rocky Mountain Killer. Faith is nicely woven into the story. I like how the author balanced the suspense with touching, emotional moments. While Search and Detect is the eighth book in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit, it can be read as a standalone. I have a feeling, though, that you will want to go back and read all the books in this engaging series. Search and Detect is a captivating tale with a big boom, a clever canine, a grieving FBI agent, a cruel killer, a darling daughter, and God’s grace.

Bite your nails finale to this series!

Zoe was putting her baby Kylie down for a nap, when her house exploded. Chase was nearby with his explosive detection K-9 partner. They found and saved Zoe and Kylie, but someone is still after her. Also the Rocky Mountain Killer is still on the loose, with the multi generational reunion only a week away! Can Chase keep Zoe and Kylie safe while protecting his heart? Will they ever capture the RMK and retrieve the stolen compassionate Cate dog Cowgirl? This is the exciting conclusion of the overarching mystery and others as well!

The pace is fast and the tone is intense with a character and action oriented storyline that has a few kisses but no steam. The characters are vivid and engaging. The Christian ideals are an integral part of the story. This is a fantastic finale to this series, with 2 Christmas short stories to follow that continue with these characters. I can't wait!

This new-to-me author checks all of the boxes in her exciting addition to the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series! Well-developed characters, sweet romance, and non-stop action are all included in the mystery of a chilling villain who just won't go away! FBI agent Chase Rawlston is drawn into a bombing incident involving Zoe Jenkins and her baby and the danger and suspense continue to escalate from there! I loved Chase's efforts to protect Zoe and baby Kylie from the Rocky Mountain Killer and the sweet relationship of trust that develops between them. How heartwarming that two hurting people might finally find peace and comfort!

I look forward to reading more of Terri Reed's books after reading this thrilling page-turner! I recommend Search and Detect to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

This was a great romantic suspense! I always enjoy Terri Reed’s books and this one was no exception!
Zoe was a great heroine and such an awesome mom to sweet little Kylie. And Chase was an awesome hero. I also really loved Chase’s K-9 partner, Dash!
The mystery and suspense in this one were really good. I’m not sure why but anytime there’s a bomber in a suspense book it’s a total buzzword, maybe because it ups the suspense and adds an extra measure of danger!
This is book 8 in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series, and I have not read the previous books, but I had no trouble at all following this one so it can definitely stand alone.
Search and Detect was an excellent fast-paced romantic suspense read and I highly recommend it!

3.5 stars. This isn't my normal kind of book, but I wanted to give something different a try. And, for the genre, I thought it was written really well. It starts off exciting, and there's an interesting hunt for a serial killer. Best of all, it's 8th in the series but I was able to jump right in and get enough backstory to enjoy it. Always impressive when an author can do that (no info dumping OR feeling completely lost). I'm not a fan of instalove, but I knew it was going to be that kind of story, so I was prepared. And, for instalove, it was developed as well as it could be, I thought. There were two mysteries to solve, and the main characters were well-written, so it kept my interest. If Hallmark movies are your thing, you'll enjoy this quick read!

Content: mild violence.

I was provided an advance reader’s copy of this book, and all I can say is WOW! Terri is an amazing writer. Her books just get better and better with each one published.
With the Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit looking for a killer (RMK), the case just gets worse. FBI Special Agent, Chase Rawlston has been investigating the case, and now Zoe Jenkins, a victim’s sister has her home destroyed by a bomb. Thankfully her daughter and her were safe. Not knowing if the RMK has her in his sights, Chase takes them under his protection. Not knowing where to take her, he took her to his home so that his father could help him watch over her, so that he could continue working the case. Several more attempts are made on Zoe.
Is the RMK behind this, or is someone else out to harm Zoe.
Buy this book and find out. Let me assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

This is book #8 of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series but can be read as a standalone book.

Lots of action from the very first chapter.

Zoe and her little girl Kylie’s house blows up and FBI agent Case and his K-9 partner Dash are tasked with keeping them safe until they find out who is behind the bombing.

Along with protecting Zoe and Kylie Case has to track down the Rocky Mountain Killer and bring them to justice and providing closer to the town.

Zoe and Case both have to deal with their pasts so that the can move on and have a relationship together.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish trying to figure out who was behind both cases but was surprised who was behind them and why.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. The review expressed here is my honest opinion.

Danger lurks around every corner for Zoe Jenkins. She has organized a multiage reunion for her small town to help bring healing to those who lost loved ones to the Rocky Mountain Killer. Zoe’s brother was one of the victims, but is she being targeted by this person or is it someone else who wants her dead?

This is a fast-moving story of Zoe and her young daughter trying to stay out of the crosshairs of a killer with the help of the FBI agent, Chase Rawlston and his dog, Dash. I enjoyed trying to figure out who was behind the crimes and the relationship that developed between Zoe and Chase.

Readers of inspirational romance with danger and action will enjoy this book. It is part of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series, but can easily be read as a standalone.

I received a complimentary copy of the book. A positive review was not required and all opinions are my own.

What a thrilling, explosive ride from beginning to end. Single mother Zoe Jenkins and FBI Special Agent Chase Rawlston are thought together when an explosion occurs at Zoe's house. Multiple attacks happen. Is it the Rocky Mountain Killer? Is it someone else who is targeting Zoe? Search and Detect reveals the identity of the Rocky Mountain Killer and ties up the ongoing mystery cases involving what happened to the dog Cowboy who was taken and who has been targeting Isa, one of the task force teammates.
Chase, who lost his wife and son tragically, is angry at God and feels guilt over what had happened to his wife and son. I enjoyed the developing relationship between Chase and Zoe, the frustration at trying to find the Rocky Mountain Killer as Chase protects Zoe and her baby girl Kylie, the redemptive arc, healing, and falling in love again.

This Christian Romantic Suspense novel is book 7 out of 8 in a multi author series with a series long serial killer mystery. I’ve read quite a few of the previous books, but not all of them. Of course, this series is best enjoyed in order with its recurring characters and the overarching serial killer murders mystery.

I enjoyed this single mom and FBI hero romance. In their hometown, with tragedy and danger swirling, they have to decide whether they can trust again after the pains in their pasts. There was definitely good suspense here and mystery. A few times I found myself inexplicably drawn away from the story and have to force myself back in, and that’s why I went with a 4.5.

However, this story was a good read both on the romance and the mystery and suspense aspects. We get family, friends, a sweet cherub little girl, and faith.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Great mix of sweet romance and page turning suspense. Throw in a working dog protecting a baby and the sweetness goes to another level. I really enjoyed how Chase took an active role in protecting Zoe and her baby especially because it was personally difficult for him. The romance between him and Zoe was very sweet and grew at a nice pace for most of the story. There were many secondary characters from previous books that I struggled to keep track of. However, I did enjoy having several suspects which made the suspense riveting.

I received this book complimentary from the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are honest and my own.
