The Moon Offtrack

Rate this book
In the high-octane world of F1 racing, Azhar Shah is a force to be reckoned with—a fearless driver who thrives on breaking the rules. He's used to living life in the fast lane, answering to no one. But when Farah Akram, a reserved and introverted physiotherapist, joins his team, their worlds collide in the most unexpected way. From the moment they meet, sparks fly, but not the kind you'd expect. Azhar’s arrogance clashes head-on with Farah's quiet determination, making every encounter a battle of wills. As Azhar tries his best to push her away, Farah seeks a sense of belonging in a world where she feels like an outsider.

Yet, fate has other plans, and the more they try to resist, the harder it becomes. In the cutthroat realm of F1, where fortunes rise and fall, secrets and deceit are the order of the day. Azhar and Farah find themselves caught in a whirlwind of emotions, emotions they both vehemently despise.

Mutual enmity was their chosen path, but when the word 'marriage' enters the equation, all bets are off. Will they succumb to the irresistible pull of their hearts, or will they continue to race headlong down the path of mutual disdain?

I really liked the cover and the concept, but the writing style wasn't for me. Also, I really didn't like the MMC. He was really aggravating.

This was my first F1 book and I am glad I chose this book. This book has my favourite trope, enemies to lovers and did not disappoint. When i started to read the book i started to understand Farah’s struggle with her family and how they were not supportive of her career choices and when she finally left her home to work with Azhar he was a different story. I honestly hated him in the beginning because of the way he talked to everyone around him and how he would purposely hit a nerve. Especially the comment to Sabrina. But later on, his story was brought up and i understood that his situation was similar to Farah’s. Azhar’s dad never approved of his career and wanted him to be a doctor or lawyer. So basically they were both fighting the same battle but had different ways to deal with it.

There were some cute scenes, like the boat date they went on, Azhar calling Farah his chand (moon), him being there to listen to her and calm her down when she was crying, him fulfilling her dream of going to Pakistan, him buying her roses, him noticing her looking at the bangles and buying her the green ones, like her eye colour, and many more. Azhar is literally a green flag. I am so excited to read The Pitlane Secrecy!!

As an F1 lover, I really wanted to adore this, but it just missed the mark for me. The pacing felt choppy, the story had a few noticeable holes, and it never quite found its flow. The characters didn’t feel fully developed, leaving both leads a bit flat and almost stereotypical. I also found myself wishing for more immersive detail and background building. Several chapters ended with nearly identical phrasing, which made the read feel repetitive. Still, there were glimpses of charm—I just wish it had gone a little deeper.

As an F1 fan, I am gobbling up all these new F1 romances. I liked the premise of this book and many of the elements, especially how both main characters went for their dreams despite what their families thought. I did think that the relationship development was a little light, and I would have liked to see more on that front. The book seemed to set up a potential spin-off with other characters, and that would be fun.

Thanks to Parveen for an eARC of this book for an honest review!

The two MCs had a lot of angst and issues, but that made the payoff so much sweeter.

I loved how knowledgeable the author was about F1. This made the book shine.
In addition, the love story was so damn sweet and you could see the MCs really trying to fight their baggage.

Great F1 romance.

ARC READER!

Review coming soon!!

| EDIT:

REVIEW TIME.

First I want to start by saying thank you to Parveen for the E-Arc in exchange for an honest reviews.

Let’s get on with the review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/ 3.5 NO SMUT JUST TENSION.

Lets start with break down with the characters, well just our two main ones.

Azhar.

Not gonna lie, I hated him at first. I think most of us did because he was a real a-hole. Not just to Farah but to everyone. Suck that ego up your ass dude, you are not that special.
BUT i did end up liking him the more I got into reading it. He was sweet, became less grumpy and thankfully stuffed the ego away.

Farah

I want to say I relate with Farah. I also have a dream
That my parents do not approve of and most likely if I was as half as brave as her, I would have been disowned too. Which I don’t get. Why can’t parents, especially ones immigrant background just be happy taht their kid is doing what they love. I come from one and I never understood why they are the way they are.
(At this point I am telling yall my life story)
Anyhow, I love my girl Farah since the first moment and the linger I read, the more I loved her.

AzharFarah

The author did say that the book will have tension but at first I felt like it was lacking. Especially until their first date I think it was at a yacht (i have bad memory). I couldn’t feel the promised spark but I feel liek it got better as the story continued.
Their relationship did move a little fast. At first they hate each other, for a while too. And then suddenly they wanna be friends and OH all of the sudden have feelings for one another before page 200.
Because it was so fast, like mentioned the tension lacked.

All in all, I will recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of reading it.
It is a cute, light and fluffy romance that will make you swoon because the letters were so adorable.

4 out of 5 ⭐️

A cute, F1 themed book about a racing driver and physiotherapist wanting to change their lives by following their dreams. They both have gone through hard family related dramas, but surely this would make them feel connected…….

A cute romance to read.

i was very excited to read this, but it disappointed me a bit. i love the elements and the representation is good, but the romance didn’t really do it for me. i sort of lost interest by the last 20% of the book, but i definitely think many readers will love it!
