Hundreds of years ago, off the coast of the newly created United States of America, pirates still prowled the waters of the Atlantic. Though the Golden Age of piracy was waning, there was yet one ship that struck fear into the hearts of merchants and Satan’s Mermaid. Her captain, The Hawk, was hated by the British, admired by his crew and loved by almost every lady he encountered. Except one. Rouge, the mystical pirate captain of the Crimson Lion, eluded his control, fought him for treasure and, if legend has it true, led him to his death in the cold waters off the coast of Maine.
Henry Carl Sherwin, Doctor of Marine Geology, has been searching for The Hawk’s lost treasure for decades. His search has cost him almost everything, including the love of his life. Now, Hank’s sure his dream is within his grasp as he uses recently discovered journals and maps to locate a shipwreck near the last siting of Satan’s Mermaid. All he needs to do is to convince the best Oceanographic Archaeologist in the world to help him unravel the mystery surrounding the only proof he has that the sunken ship was captained by The Hawk.
Dr. Victoria Davies Rand, has fought for her place as the world’s foremost expert on Colonial America Marine Archaeology. Vicke’s paid a high price for the respect of her the loss of her husband, Hank. Then he arrives on her doorstep in the midst of a howling storm and turns her well-ordered life upside down with what he claims is proof that The Hawk and Rouge were together when they met their fiery deaths in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Drawn by the promise of wealth and fame, respect and vindication, Vicke and Hank join together to solve the mystery of Satan’s Mermaid and the Crimson Lion. It’s their greatest adventure and the treasure they discover may be worth more than gold.
Treasure is the contemporary romance prologue to Morgan Malone’s three volume historical romance The Pirates of the Eastern Shore.
Pirates and treasure. But the greatest treasure of all love. Morgan Malone has written a fantastic prologue to her upcoming pirate romance series. Attention to detail is evident but the story laps around historical facts with ease. A must read if you love a heartfelt steamy romance.
Vicke couldn’t compete with Hank’s obsession, and it destroyed their marriage. Can they work together to find the illusive pirate treasure and reclaim their love? Treasure is a modern-day prequel/prologue to the historical pirate romance series, The Pirates of the Eastern Shore. It shows a group of people finding a pirate ship and a couple working together, healing past wounds. It’s a romantic adventure I couldn’t stop reading. The world-building, descriptive narration, setting, and dialogue all work in harmony. My imagination soared with all the pirate and historical accuracy. A truly unforgettable story.
Let’s start with the characters. Vicke is a fireball heroine with plenty of pent-up resentment for Hank, her ex-husband and the hero. It’s understandable considering the circumstances. I connected with her on so many levels.
Hank is the epitome of a treasure hunter and hero. His passion for history and treasure is addictive. He’s also filled with love and admiration for Vicke, his beloved.
The chemistry Hank and Vicke share is off the charts. Even after all that’s taken place and years gone by, the love and passion remain.
The writing is immersive, descriptive, historically accurate and romantic. Morgan Malone grabs the reader by the throat and doesn’t let go. I couldn’t get enough and need to know more about these pirates, and they perished. Can’t wait for the next book, coming out in June!

This a beautifully written story that will captivate you right from the beginning and will continually pique your curiosity. I love that this fascinating story which touches on the Golden Age of piracy takes place on the coast of Maine. The characters are so real and the author gives us a good description of their back story. The supporting characters add so much to this amazing story as well. I especially love the character of little Lilith who adds delightful humor. Henry Carl Sherwin, Doctor of Marine Geology, has been searching for The Hawk’s lost treasure and Satan’s Mermaid for decades. His search has cost him almost everything, including the love of his life. Will Hank convince his ex, Dr. Victoria Davies Rand, the world’s foremost expert on Colonial America Marine Archaeology to join him on this journey? This is a fantastic contemporary romance prequel to the author's three-volume historical romance series: "Pirates of The Eastern Shore".
This is a wonderful second chance romance! Vicke is a strong willed, fiery woman who loves her job as a professor and exploring the sea uncovering treasure. Hank was, well frankly, Hank was a jerk to Vicke in the past. His search for answers about a long ago pirate ship bordered on obsession and cost him his relationship with Vicke. Answers to century old mysteries and questions are on the horizon. If you like later in life, second chance romance, adventure, and treasures hidden in the sea; you will love this book from Author Morgan Malone! And now. I am eagerly awaiting the full series with bated breath!

Now, showing their love and devotion to each other is another story. The flip side of love is anger and boy they're known to push each others buttons. This is a fantastic story of them finding love together again

Henry (Hawk) and Dr. Victoria (Vicke) Davies-Rand are divorced. Due to his obsession with finding the Satan's Mermaid a ship lost for a very long time. Showing up at her house and trying to convince Vicke that he found the ship is not an easy feat. She reluctantly agrees to go with him on theis last hunt. I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast easy read. Now i have to wait for the next one to come out. I want ot see where all this goes.
This is a modern day pirate story that I thoroughly enjoyed. On a stormy night Vicki's ex knocks on her door saying he found sunken pirate ships and Vickie and her son decide to go with him to search for the the treasure and find jewelry and coins then in a ruined mansion they find a hidden treasure chest. I look forward to the next book in the series
I enjoyed reading Treasure and watching the characters Hank and Vicke get a second chance at love. And searching for the Treasure that torn them apart so long ago. This book is part of a series. This is my first read by this author.
