Starved is the sequel to HUNGRY, a Washington Post KidPost Book of the Week. Deborah, otherwise known as Dbrrrksh on the Home World, has resisted the deep urge in her DNA to eat human beings. STARVED, the sequel to the hilarious science fiction novel HUNGRY, is a wacky, tongue-in-cheek novel about 7th grade angst, first crushes, and a ruthless species that wants to use Earth as their next fast food stop. The Home World is plotting again, and Deborah discovers she is a candidate to be Supreme High Matriarch. Can she outwit her species and a ruthless Home World girl who is willing to do ANTHING to get it? Will the Home World conquer Earth through reality TV? Will Earthlings become the latest fast food item on their menu? Will Deborah kiss Willy?

Starved is the second book following Alethea Eason's Hungry. We got another folks!!! I could not be happier and Mrs. Eason does not disappoint. I cannot put her writing down. Everything she writes just flows and draws me into the worlds she creates deeper than I thought possible. Her stories consume me in the most fun of ways. Starved continues to keep things light though the story is anything but. Our main character has survived a rough road of self discovery as an alien and teen. She has new hardships to deal with as people she trusted get taken away from her and her world crumbles when the one thing she doesn't want to be comes out in the form of swollen bulbs from her head. This creates a deeper tie to the world she comes from. We get a different take on our heroin from a perspective she may not have ever wanted us to see. We start to really get the plight of her people even to our own demise. I cannot wait to see where Mrs. Eason will take our leading young lady next. No matter where we go, I have full confidence in the author's ability to make me believe anything that comes out of her silk hands. I am a huge fan of this series and a huge fan of Mrs. Eason in general. Check out her other series Heron's Path.
