I've been a writer, one way or another, all my life. Before I could read, I made up poems and my mom wrote them down for me. In elementary school, my teachers almost always let me write poems or stories instead of requiring me to do art projects. Always, I dreamed of becoming a published writer...and that dream came true! I write novels about sexy, powerful men and independent-minded women, and what happens when they find each other and fall in love. My books are sexy and romantic, and they've very often full of romantic suspense. I write the kinds of books I love to read, and I hope that makes my readers happy.

This is the secondary section of Sandra Marton's books about the Wilde children. Lissa is the last girl to get her book. Sandra Marton has thrown the HarleyLand rule book out. I mean literally.

Lissa is no virgin; she likes sex, and she cusses. Since she no longer likes men (due to really poor taste and bad luck) she has now has a pink vibrator she talks to. From what I can tell with her choices in men, the conversations have improved. Her latest romantic fiasco coincided with the demise of her chef career. That's a saucy tale as well.

She is now off to Montana to what she thinks is a swanky dude ranch to be chef to the stars. In reality, she is off to be Cookie at a rundown ranch owned by a MIA and very grumpy actor in hiding. The H is bourbon swilling, F-bomb dropping, slightly handicapped jackass, and their connection is hot.

After a stellar meal made from iffy potatoes and Spam, she wins the hearts of the real cowboys and an adorable Newfoundland.

She decides to hang around as, one, she has nothing better to do back in LA, and, two, she doesn't want to confess her failures to her uber-achieving family and . Oh yeah, she's falling head over heels in LOVE with the H who is reciprocating. Just as in The Merciless Travis Wilde, the hero does such a turnaround it's hard to believe.

The world ends up finding out who and where the actor is; the paparazzi jackals descend, and their little bubble breaks for a while. The brothers get involved, and SuperDad shows up with a surprise at the end of the book

What made me sad is we never get to read about the Newfie after they leave the ranch, but he's probably snuggling with the two kittens he rescued and getting fed table scraps.

The story of Wilde Child no. 6, Melissa, or Lissa, rather, is as absorbing as the previous episodes in Sandra Marton’s family saga of the Wildes of El Sueno.

Lissa is the Wilde child who has broken out on her own and walks a lone path. Independent, outspoken and proud, one thing that Lissa will never do is admit to having failed while out there in the big, bad world. Win or lose, she’s a Wilde and that means that failure is not an option in that family of achievers.

A string of failed romances and a career which has hit a downer fails to dampen her spirit. Men? Who needs them? Her loss of romance can be compensated for with chocolates, ice cream, a slew of romantic movies and if it comes to that, mechanical help! Well, it may not come to that, but if it does, she’s ready. The loss of a five star job and having her name blackened in her industry doesn’t faze her either. She shovels chicken in a takeaway, keeps smiling and never calls her family for help. Not even once. But all that’s about to change. A job offer in cowboy ranch land comes her way. She thinks she’s going to be a chef in a resort which offers ranch-style holidays to discerning (meaning: rich) holidaymakers. What she does not bargain for is the fact that the job is on a real ranch and instead of serving up haute cuisine to high class ranch tourists, she’s called to serve up pork and beans to real, honest-to-God cowboys and ranch hands. And the boss? Don’t even mention that laconic, bad-tempered SOB.

But that SOB is familiar looking. He bears a strong resemblance to a certain celebrity her who went missing over a year ago and Lissa starts to notice this. Soon, the whole game changes and it looks as if Lissa’s life is about to change too, for the better.

And if that isn’t quite enough, there’s a twist at the end of the story to make fans of the Wilde series sit up and take notice.

A very hot and romantic read, told with wit, style and humor. Sandra Marton fans, readers of romance and fans of this series will be well pleased.

I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Blame! It's done everyday. Whether you are the one being blamed or whether you are the one blaming yourself, either way it is something that eats away at your soul. You cannot simply get rid of it by placing it in the back of your mind till such time you feel like dealing with it, because it never goes to the back, it always stays the number one thing on your mind, constantly whispering for you to do something about it.

In the new Sandra Marton this is the focus in life for the main characters Lissa and Nick. Once they both had promising careers, Lissa as a promising chef making the most mouth watering dishes and Nick as a kick-ass actor making all the girls knees go weak. But fate steps in and instead of living the dream, they are thrown together in the most unexpected of places.

Whilst each one tries to deal with their new circumstances they find that getting back to their careers is the furthest thing from their minds, because their passion for each other overshadows any other thoughts, that is until reality shows up at the front gate.

The character of Nick was a real ass, the man is as horrible as he his gorgeous. I found myself wanting to hit him on more than one occasion and at other times I felt so sorry for the lost man he has become that I wanted to hold him tight and just say anything I could to make him feel better, there was also of course the times that the man was so extremely sexy and I wanted to smother him in kisses. Him blaming himself for the an incident that led to the end of his career was a very touching tale. I have heard it many times before in the of work I do, but it never stops to amaze me just how much of an impact one incident can have on a person, so badly that it turns them from sunshine to a walking rain cloud that can erupt in seconds. Through this character the author showed, that anything can change our lives in a number of seconds, but it takes an entire lifetime to come back from the brink of insanity.

The character of Lissa, also blamed herself for the loss of her career however, her reason was less emotional, but this did not make her any less interesting. I found myself wanting to congratulate the woman for standing up for herself but I also wanted to scald her for not doing it properly. Through this character the author showed that when we stand up for ourselves we are not meant to do it only halfway, think of it as baking only half of an apple pie, no one will want to eat it and it's the same when we only stand up for ourselves halfway. We will be known as a person of reckoning but never a person of stature. When you fight for your right, do it all the way or don't do it at all.

The backdrop settings were very stunning, the author described the land with such exquisite detail I could honestly feel the cold seeping into my skin and feel the wind blowing away my hair. I loved the book from start to finish, I was swept away by the intense attraction between Lissa and Nick and simply could not get enough of them, I wanted the story to go on and on and never end, and afterwards I sat for almost a full three minutes to try and pull myself from their world and back to my own.

I am taking away a message of blaming yourself for mistakes is never the answer. Yes if you are guilty then that's it, try to make it right instead of just trying to push it away. And yes there will be times when we will be blaming ourselves when in fact it was never our fault to begin with, this is just human nature and can be overcome, but if you refuse to listen to the voice of reasoning when it comes walking through the door, then there truly will never be an end to your suffering. Be courageous enough to listen instead of just following your own set of voices.

I highly recommend this read for any of Sandra Marton's fans. The read was an emotional roller-coaster ride filled with blazing passion, heartache and self-discovery and and an ending you will never see coming!

LOVED IT SANDRA. I DON'T WANT TO GIVE ANYTHING AWAY SO I WON'T SAY TOO MUCH. THIS STORY IS ABOUT MELISSA WILDE. SHE IS REALLY HAVING A RUN OF BAD LUCK. BETWEEN BOYFRIENDS AND HER JOBS SHE CAN'T SEEM TO GET AHEAD. HER AGENT BOOKS HER AT A RANCH WHICH SHE THINKS IS A SPA IN MONTANA. UNFORTUNATELY LISSA'S LUCK IS STILL THE SAME. THE RANCH IS OLD AND THE OWNER IS A GROUCH. HIS NAME IS NICK GENTRY AND HE HAS A WHOLE RANGE OF HIS OWN PROBLEMS. THIS ONE IS GREAT AND YOU WILL LOVE IT

Wonderful ending to a great trilogy!
Sandra Marton did it again! I love the fiery chemistry between Nick and Lissa. He's not that easy to deal with but she's no pushover, either. The outcome? Hot passionate love with never a dull moment.
Plus a totally unexpected but greatly appreciated surprise ending!!!

A Recommended Read! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

Melissa ‘Lissa’ Wilde, a trained chef, grew up on the huge ranch, known as El Suẽno, in West Texas, with her three brothers and two sisters. As the children of a four star general, they spent most of their time without their father, but the siblings have a very close relationship. Despite this, Lissa wants to make a name for herself without relying on the Wilde name. So, for the past three years, she has lived in Los Angeles, hoping to become a chef. Unlike her siblings, who have all found the loves of their lives, Lissa’s relationships with men have been disastrous. So she has given up on them. In her time in LA, she has hooked up with three guys, all useless jerks. One had even given her the opportunity of being an executive chef at his new restaurant. But once she had the place up and going, he had shown his true colors on opening night. Since then, she has only been able to get menial jobs. Now, at twenty-seven, she is celebrating her birthday alone and looking for work. So when her agent from Cooks Unlimited calls and offers her a position as a chef on a ranch in Montana, she accepts, believing she will be heading up the kitchen at a Montana resort. But when she arrives in the midst of a snowstorm, the ranch is not at all what she had envisioned.

Nick Gentry is a well-known actor, but a serious accident has left him with a limp and constant pain. So he has escaped to his family’s ranch, the Triple G, which he now owns, in Montana, away from the media and everyone else, except his ranch hands. With half a dozen men to feed, Nick was in serious need of a cook, so, using a pseudonym, he contacted Cooks Unlimited, requesting a male cook. When they called back, letting him know that Lissa Wilde would be arriving the next day, he was not happy, but he had no choice. One blogger had once referred to him as the Clint Eastwood of the Twenty-First Century, but now he used booze to cover the pain of his injuries.

It was bad enough being picked up from the airport by a scruffy, mean-tempered cowboy and being delivered to a rundown working ranch, instead of the resort she had envisioned. But then she discovers that the cupboards are bare, they are snowed in and she is expected to cook dinner for the burly men gathered at the dinner table. Soon the heated words exchanged between Nick and Lissa turns into heat of another type as the two land in bed together. Can they trust what they have found in each other, or will they come to regret their actions?

A truly entertaining read, LISSA: SUGAR AND SPICE, the third book in USA Today bestselling author Sandra Marton’s THE WILDE SISTERS series, is a witty, sensual contemporary romance that I hated to see end. Together, Nick and Lissa are combustible, like lighting a match to gasoline, and their snarky banter is hilarious. As a couple, they are a delight. Additionally, readers get the pleasure of visiting with the Wilde gang once more. I have loved every story in this series, but this just may be the best one yet.

Brimming with stunning scenery, sizzling passion, emotion, humor, healing, clever repartee, romance and tender love, as well as a surprising twist at the end, this story is one you will want to read more than once. Although Ms. Marton wraps up this series beautifully with Lissa’s story, I cannot wait to read her upcoming IN WILDE COUNTRY series. If you are looking for a terrific read with loads of humor, heat and a helping of sass and fireworks, this is the book for you. Definitely a Recommended Read!

The age old adage was right. “If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is”. That's what Lissa found out with this latest “executive chef position”. With a deadbeat job, no better prospects in the future and her professional reputation in shreds, the position quoted from her agent sounded perfect. Only the hype and the reality were not the same. Hype: live at a fancy dude ranch or fancy resort where the rich went to have fun with hot tubs, fire pits and luxury accommodations, be able to do American cooking with locally grown ingredients, and make contacts with potential restaurant owners. Reality: live at a broken-down ranch, feed six starving cowboys, tolerate one grouchy, arrogant, sexy, reclusive owner and accommodate a big, beautiful Newfoundland. Reality was a whole lot different from the hype, but was that all she found there? She didn't think so. Had she finally found the “ONE” or would he turn out to be just like all the others, selfish and self serving?

Disillusioned and injured, Nick had returned to the family ranch. With the shattering of all his dreams, he had become rude, insolent, despicable, and elusive from all who knew him. Oblivion was what he was chasing: from the memories of the accident, the sudden ending of his career, fear of an interfering, pitying public, and the bombardment of too many regrets for what he had lost, but a blonde, green eyed, feisty, and determined dynamo changed all his perceptions. From the first sassy, indignant greeting, she had begun to change all his perceptions. Was the bubble they existed in destined to be a step to forever or would reality pop the thin membrane and come flooding in? Could there be a “happily ever after” for them or would unforeseen circumstances force them apart?

From the first pages of Lissa's “pity party” to the last climatic firework ending, this exciting story was written in the famous Sandra Marton style. A well written plot was inter-weaved with very well developed characters. This story was a constant page turner. Secondary characters, including the famous “Wilde Clan” provided a perfect background to the story of searching for that elusive eternal love. I laughed, cried, and sympathized with both Lissa and Nick on their incredible journey to this love.

And the ending...what a fabulous surprise!!!! Can't wait to read future novels by this amazing author. Well done, Sandra Marton, well done!!!

I would recommend this to all romance readers.

Two broken people for two very different reasons. From different worlds, they have the commonalities that could be a potential game changer. Meet Lissa and Nick.

Lissa is a young woman who has been defined by her wealthy and successful family. Well, she decided that she would change that and break out on her own. Lissa decided to go to Le Cordon Bleu and become a chef. After her first few experiences in the culinary world aren't what she wants, she lands the dream job, executive chef. Her current interest decided to open a restaurant and asked her to head it up for him, until he proves to be the biggest of all of her previous jerks. Now she is guy-less, jobless, and almost hopeless. Until she gets a promising call from her tricky agent.

Nick is a major actor. He's been in many movies on the big screen and has a huge fan following, one that he is now hiding from. He has turned into someone he doesn't really recognize and isn't sure he'd want to. Hiding out in the remote area he is, he needs a down to earth cook for his ranch. When he contacts and agency, he is assured that he is getting a cook that can handle rustic dishes without problem. When Nick meets Lissa, he isn't impressed, and he is almost positive he's been duped.

As Nick and Lissa but heads at every turn, they aren't sure what will follow when the weather turns into their mutual enemy. Can Lissa prove herself to Nick? Can she stand the weather long enough not to strangle him? What about Nick, can he remember the rules of civility to get Lissa into the kitchen? Find out how things turn out in this witty banter filled, whirlwind they find themselves in.

I wish that I'd read the other 2 books before I read this one but that didn't take away from the enjoyment of this one. Lissa is a wonderfully written story of a woman down on her luck as a chef & Nick an actor wounded into hiding. They both have regrets & pain they wish they could get past but it's going to take a lot to do it. Lissa takes a job that she thinks is an executive chefs position for a resort ranch in Montana that turns out to be a job as a cook for a bunch of hungry ranch hands on the elusive actors ranch. What starts as animosity turns into heat & then searing pain as their lives are undone by the media getting wind that Nick has finally surfaced. The secret is now out as Lissa is torn to shreds by the median when they fid out who the mysterious woman was with Nick & it forces her to come to terms with her life & make some changes. The changes are for the better & it sets her on her future path but the pain of losing Nick is still strong & the realization that she loves him is something that's going to take a while to get over. Nick is back in the spot light again but now he's looking to a change & there's only one person that he wants...Lissa. Can he win Lissa back? Can they move forward? I also loved how the book ended with the revelation of a big secret that rocks Lissa & her family. Can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series. Definite recommend.

She's beautiful. She's talented. She's smart. She's stubborn as a goat. She's prideful as only a Wilde can be! She's determined to fix her life and do it without her family ever knowing it was broken.

He's gorgeous. He's a household name. He's cranky and snarly. He's buried his head in the sand and he's the only one who doesn't know it. Barely hanging on, yet not quite ready to give up.

Their worlds collide when a slightly devious (HA! slightly, lol) common acquaintance manipulates them both. The sparks start flying immediately. Their unknowing mediator? A huge dog named Brutus!

You'll find yourself giggling, outright laughing, and ok, I'll admit it, at least one inappropriate laugh (sorry Nick!). You'll experience the sadness and the betrayal and the struggle they go through as they learn about themselves and each other. You'll get to hang out with the rest of the Wilde gang as they gather to protect and defend their Melissa! Join Nick and Lissa as they fight for their HEA!!

We won't even talk about the HUGE and SHOCKING surprise!!

Sandra Marton takes us on a Wilde ride yet again. Throughout the series I fallen in love with each of the Wilde siblings and their mates.

Awal2nya udah ngebosenin, edisi mengasihani diri sendiri plus hubungan dgn deretan cowok2 brengsek terakhir dgn bosnya yg melakukan pelecehan di tempat kerja, tp Lissa tdk terus terang mengenai kejadian tsb & dipecat lalu berakhir dgn kerja di tempat yg tdk sesuai keahliannya sbg chef. Dipikir Lissa akan kerja di resort tp ternyata hanya di sebuah ranch yg pemiliknya mantan aktor terkenal yg pemarah, nyebelin, frustasi (krn kecelakaan membuat kakinya pincang), skeptis dgn kemampuan Lissa memasak. Proses mereka pelan2 saling mengenal, bertengkar adu mulut yg smart tp in the end mereka bisa respect satu sama lain lebih sedikit porsinya dibanding penjabaran pov mereka (about sex).

Lissa: Sugar and Spice by Sandra Marton
This is the story of Nick the famous, handsome, sexy actor who’s gone missing from the world of film. Nick had a terribly sad secret and has been hiding from the world since the accident left him with a mangled leg. Lissa has had her reputation tarnished by a man she thought loved her, but instead used her. How these two misfits got together is awesome and I totally enjoyed the ride. I think this story of the last Wilde family members is my very favorite. I give this book five stars because I couldn’t wait to reach the end and find out what happened and at the same time I didn’t want it to end. So romantic I wanted to cry! Best part is that the Wilde family saga continues because the general has another set of kids! Italian kids and I can’t wait to read those stories.

The third book in the Wilde Sisters, this book does not suffer if you have not read the first two (though it does make you really curious!). It deals with two people down on their “luck” in very different ways. Paths cross (thanks to a devious manager) and sparks fly. Both are thrown in a situation out of their element but they cope in delicious (pun intended) ways. At the core of these two artists are hard-working and down to earth souls that manage to actually open up and find each other. A fairly predictable boy meets girl, antagonistic and passionate tension, some angst and HEA but at a fast clip that keeps you entertained. A good beach read.

Sandra Marton does it again! Sandra creates another wonderful member of the Wilde family. Our love interests in this book are Lissa Wilde(an out of work chef) and Nick Gentry(an injured actor in hiding). From their first initial meeting the sparks and tempers fly! They are two people both hurting from past circumstances and situations. I encourage you to purchase this book for the rest of the story to find out what happens between these two, you will not be disappointed, I wasn't!! Oh! As for the ending, what a fantastic twist!! Get the book you'll find out!! Sandra Marton certainly knows how to keep a readers interest. What a talented author!

3.75 Wilde Child Stars. This was pretty typical of the other books. The meeting, the antagonism, the discovery, the steam, the conflict, the splitting, the finding, the reconciliation, the HEA. It's a fun read and the Wilde family is standing by one another like they always do, ready to protect and defend.

Lissa is jobless and prospects are beyond thin. Nick is in hiding and needs to run a ranch. Lissa's agent maybe sorta misleads her on what job Nick is offering. In fact, she won't really even tell Lissa who her boss will be. It's a comedy of errors that doesn't seem very funny while they're going through it.

This is a fun brain candy read.

3.5 star read. All the books in this trilogy are a feel good fall in love romance read. Lite sex scenes, few errors with no cliffhangers and HEA. I just wish the author would have taken the time to develop her characters as couples more. The story was about the journey of falling in love but when they truly became couples BAM marriage and the end. If as readers we take the time and investe in these characters it would be nice not to just abruptly end their stories. All in all good reads eith likeable characters and storied.

This was another stellar addition to the series from Sandra.
I loved these two together. Lissa was feisty, funny and deep down wanted what her two sisters had...LOVE. Nick Gentry was just the grumpy man to give that to Lissa. Nick just wanted to wallow in self pity until Lissa came around and showed him what it was to feel again.

LOVED the surprise ending!!!

Lissa: Sugar and Spice is a Wilde Sister story. I liked this one just as much as Emily’s story. It is still an opposite attraction story, which is a common story theme but it works in this novel. It’s not a complicated but more of a traditional romance read. Sometimes that is just what I need to escape my own problems. For that, this Montana Wilde sister story hit the spot. It’s perfect for a lazy afternoon read.

Gosh what a hot and sexy book...the chemistry between Nick and Lissa fairly sizzles...It's sweet how they use each other's full names Nicholas and Melissa as terms of endearment hehe...I like both H and h very much.
