***Received from author for an honest review***

Forever Black continues the emotional roller coaster relationship between Caleb and Ashleigh. Estranged at the end of Blood Kisses, they are reunited here at her grandfather’s funeral. Their love is obvious, as is the rift that still separates them, and it seems to be the driving force behind Caleb’s insistence Ashleigh make good on a promise she made to her grandfather: see her mother.

I wasn’t sure what significance meeting an absentee mother would have on this story. It’s common to merely mention the absent parent and how that void effected the Hero/heroine. Turns out, meeting her mother is incredibly important to this story because there’s so much about her past that she’s unaware of.

Her relationship, if you want to call it that, with the Count drove me crazy. Though I knew where her heart belonged, there were moments when I wanted them together. Those moments I didn’t though… My dislike for the Count was justified and I wanted to shake Ashleigh and yell, “What’s wrong with you? He’s using you!”

This might sound contradictory, but I loved that moment when the Count changed Ashleigh to a pure blood. It was horrific and terrifying and sad…but so grotesquely beautiful.

I think it takes a bit of twisted in an author to write a vampire paranormal romance that steps over the boundary of what this type of story normally is. Whether she’s a bit twisted or not, Ms. Sieverding has penned a story that’s as tumultuous as it is tender, insightful yet still full of surprises. And I can’t wait to see how she uses Ashleigh’s new found status as a pure blood against the man who made her one: the Count.

Forever Black by H.N. Sieverding

A shocking surprise is unveiled at the beginning of Forever Black as Ms. Sieverding spins a web of deceit, vengeance, honor and love ignites into an inferno.
The characters: Caleb, Ashleigh, Nathan Aidan, Natalie from the previous book bounces fiercely and takes center stage frequently. Will the bond between Lucas, Caleb grow stronger as the mysteries unfold? Is Anthony the key to the dark things that go bump in the night?

The real connection of how the childhood issues are manifested and impacts Ashleigh and the compelling power to write. She learns the dark truth and is forced to deal with the forever black truth , her craft of writing as she relives the past.

Ashleigh’s mother often referred to as Lady Marion Harper has darkness surrounding her and her tales. The Council, Master Vessling has a major impact on the lives of Caleb, his parents, Ashleigh and others because of the politics associated with the hierarchy of the vampire community.

The development of how the deceitfulness, pain connected to family and the Council has many twisted and turns that made me catch a hitch in my thoughts and breath.

What happens to the dark prophecy? The webs of lies and false honor are woven into Forever Black is a tightly sensual, adventurous narrative of love, compassion and dependency which may often be difficult to handle when you are the center of the situations.

I found Forever Black a gripping and compelling read. The story elements are poetic and strongly managed by the skillful story telling abilities of Ms. Sieverding. As a reader I experienced every possible sensation of the mind and body through the engrossing mind-blowing activities and mysteries covered in the blanket of Forever Black. Forever Black is a must read that has an audience hungry, thirsty and burning for what will occur next in book: Blood Wars.
