This book is about how every one of us finds peace in different things. For example, on one page it says, “If peace is a song, I’ll want to sing.” By doing so it helps show that no matter what we like to do to attain peace in our lives, we’ll be driven to do it anyway because peace is a wonderful feeling! And it’s okay if each one of us has a different way of attaining our peace. We’re all different, and that diversity is what makes life so interesting. It then goes on to say how peace is even stronger and more meaningful when we make it last among one another. I’m really happy the book does this because it takes the meaning of peace to a whole different level. You can have peace among yourself which is great and everything, but when you attain peace throughout society it makes the community among one another much stronger. This can help young students get out of the “me, me, me” stage much more quickly by helping them realize they need to think about and cooperate with others. The whole book contains rhymes which is very good for the beginning reader to hear in order to improve their reading skills.
The illustrations in this book are very unique and refreshing because I’ve never seen any images that look like this before. They are very colorful, which is a good method for subtly getting students’ attention. But they also have a unique texture to them. The lines that separate parts of the images almost look blurry. They are very thick, bold, black, and have a fuzzy sort of appearance about them. Also some parts of the images appear to be patterns that you would find on a piece of fabric. It’s very hard to describe the images without looking at them, but they deserve a lot of your attention. I have an idea that maybe the lines separating parts of the images are fuzzy because the images might be representing a dream. Peace is different to everyone, so incorporating it in a dream would allow the author to easily cover many actions/things that bring people peace.

This book is about peace. If peace is out there then we as people need to go and find it. It explains to the children what peace is and how they should live by it.

This book is about what peace is. I think this book is a cute little book good for all ages but i think it would work best i with k-5th. I say until 5th because i think it is a cute friendly reminder to what peace is and how important it is. I also think this book would be a really good easy read for a slower reader or for learning how to read.
