This book arrived to us via my husband’s co-worker. For one who had ridden down the pacific coast by bike, it is a must read! Despite the 50 year difference in time, there are still a lot of the same trials and tribulations that still occur while bike touring. I enjoyed the author/father’s frank descriptions and story telling. This brought me back to my bike tour and rekindled the itch for another bike tour in the future.

A light and fun read!! Another book on the bookshelf that deserved a reread!!

A family decides to ride their bicycles from the East Coast to California one summer. These are not fancy bicycles at all.

Surprisingly, the state that got to them the most was Kansas!! It was July and the combination of winds and no shade made it slow going!!

A nice book.
