This good book gives a vivid picture of what it is like to solo hike the LHHT. I completed a thru-hike of this trail last September, traveling in the opposite direction that Dane took. It was great to be reminded of the details of the trail and shelter areas. I also enjoyed reading about the history of places nearby.

At first, I wasn't a fan of all the jumping around with the history of the area, and past hikes, but as the book went along, I looked forward to them more. They added a lot to the book, and to the trail, one of which I have both hiked and participated in the ultra run the author talks about.
