Read this last night as my pre sleep read and this was fun! Braden has been lusting after his basketball captain Connor for a long time. He has a lot of trouble hiding his ' excitement' around the hunky jock and he has very hot fantasies about him... And I mean HOT! Do those fantasies come true for Braden? Hmmmm, what do you think? LOL.
A lot of smexing going on in this short satisfying story, but these two horny basketball players are so adorbs that it makes the story sexy but also kind of sweet and cute at the same time and I love it when unrequited passion is finally returned. Thanks to Monika for the recc... I REALLY enjoyed this little nugget! Hot cover too... Yum!

Captain is a short, funny, sweet, a very steamy read and I loved it.
Braden crushes over Conner the Captain of the basketball team they play on. Thinking Connor is straight and could never be his, Braden worships him from afar and fantasizes about the two of them together, a lot, sometimes at the most inopportune moment.
At practice Braden doesn’t perform the way his couch wants so he tells Braden to run 20 laps. Now is not the time for him to be fantasizing about hunky Connor but the mind goes where it wants. Unfortunately it takes Braden to a place, while thrilling for him, has him not paying attention to what he’s doing and ends up flat on his butt. Connor runs to his side but poor Braden can’t get up and let Connor see what his fantasy has caused.
I absolutely adored Braden at the same time I felt so bad for him. Being around Connor was a form of torture, I didn’t want to laugh but I couldn’t help it, watching him try to hide how he feels about Connor was funny and a little bit sad. Braden was such a sweet character and Connor was perfect, yup definitely sigh worthy. I can see what Braden saw in him.
This is a very short 50 page read so I won’t rehash anymore of the story, if you want to know what else happens between these two you’ll just have to read the book to find out. Captain is well written and flows perfectly, I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I highly recommend Captain to everyone but with a word of warning to those that like little or no sex in their stories, this may not be for you there is a lot of sex. Besides a few small niggles about word choices my only negative is that its way too short I want more of Braden and Connor, maybe a sequel?

Okay. I confess. I clicked, bought, and devoured this little gem because of cover lust. Haha…What can I say…I’m a sucker for abs. :)
There is a lot to love under this hot cover though. Braden has been lusting after his basketball teammate and Captain, Connor, for ages. Fantasizing, staring, and drooling over Connor’s sweaty, broad, beautiful form on the court and off. But the fun really kicks off when Braden can’t seem to hide his feelings for Connor any more.
”But it wasn’t just looks. The relaxed yet focused determination when Connor played was sexy as hell. Not to mention the sweat-slicked skin on display. It was the sight of Connor’s skin that had attracted Braden to his teammate to begin with. Compared to his own pale, freckled skin, Connor’s tan looked exotic and…lickable.”
I’m not going to lie--this is pretty much all hot, moaning, squeezing, slippery smut. Haha…Not that there is anything wrong with that! But I also really liked these guys. Dashes of humor, embarrassment and determination brought Braden and Connor to life on the page. There were a few too many rod and column references for my taste, but *giggles* let’s face it -- those rods and columns make the fun—FUN!—so I can’t complain too much. ;)
A quick, sexy locker room tale filled with all kinds of steam!
I will be on the lookout for more from J.J. Scotts for sure.

It's told from Braden's POV, he's lusting and fantasizing about Connor and all the things he wants to do with him, to him and have done by him.
It's nice enough, and then his fantasy becomes a reality, but that's all there is.
Was this a one time thing? Are they out? Are they going to continue seeing each other as a couple or as friends w/benefits?
If you are looking for a short with some steamy locker room sex than this is could be it, but not if you want more of the story.

mmmmh this was a wonderfully smexy and steamy shortie, with the most loveable characters, really. I haven't enjoyed a sexy shortie this much in ...forever.
I love myself a good amount of sexual tension and teasing and light-hearted humor, yum.
And there is just something extremely delicious about smexy fantasies, especially when they're so fleshed out like Braden's ❤
The real deal was just as yummy :)

This was pretty steamy - JJ Scotts knows how to write a sex scene but I wanted more. I wanted to know what happens next. It satisfied my dirty mind but not my romantic soul. :-D

Well this book is by far one of those books to read when you’re in a certain “mood” *wink wink*. Having not read anything by this author before, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book! (And not just for the *wink wink*.)
One difficulty with shorter stories for me is when I can’t connect with the characters. In this book though, the characters were extremely likeable and I completely enjoyed the story as I went further into it. I can say with complete honesty, I really wish that the story would have been a lot longer. There was plenty more that could have been added to the ending that would have been able to allow us more time to spend with the main characters.
Now, despite the fact that I did love the story, I am rating it 4 stars because there was no back story to the characters and I was left wondering a lot about them. Also, the smutty scenes did sort of take over the book completely. But besides that, I can say honestly that I will look into more from this author in the future.

Captain is a relatively quick read with more steam than story--not necessarily a bad thing depending upon what you're in the mood for.
Newbie Goodreads author Scotts does a very nice job. The writing is clear and crisp with good flow. Scotts has a nice command of vocabulary and puts together intelligent sounding sentences--something many new authors struggle with. Although I had an occasional problem with word choice, in general I found her writing truly enhanced the story.
While the story line was minimal, the steam--both fantasized and real--was abundant, and the MCs were both very likeable. I might have questioned the likelihood of a college locker-room actually being that private, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of the book.
I am impressed with this short story and look forward to reading what Scotts comes up with next.

Captain is even better than Just Between Us, the author's previous work. The writing is clean and the clearly communicates what the author wants you to see.
I really liked the main characters and enjoyed their verbal interaction (not just the physical). I am always amazed when an author can convey so much information and emotion in such a short amount of words.
J J Scotts is a talented author with a great future and I highly recommend her work. I look forward to any forthcoming work from her.

I thought that this was a cute, smutty ;) short read about two basketball players. I have to say that before this story, I have not read about a locker room sex scene. I don't know how I avoided doing that until now, but I definitely liked it! :D As far as the plot goes, it was nothing that we have not seen before. It was just about two sport stars that come together after each lusting after the other. That being said, it was still a short, enjoyable read with good writing.

This was a very good short and steamy story. Or well less story more steamy. But thats alright considering it's a short read. The MC's are enjoyable and hot. The writing is pretty straight forward and neatly done. I would definetly read more of this authors work!

Really Really Enjoyed this book!! Loved the style of writing, felt all the hot emotions and the connection between the two. Thought she did a wonderful job of drawing me in and keeping me wanting more!!!! Can't wait to read more by this Author!!

Braden & Connor = hot, steamy, sweet....
Very nice read, what I was expecting from the book was delivered.
Just a bit too short and the end was kinda open ending...would be awesome to get a sequel about the boys and what's going to happen.

3.5 stars! I loved it! It definitely had a fantasy feel which is why I opted for the 3 stars instead of the 4. Nonetheless, so sweet!
