Doodle to the rescue, again

The bedbug dog trials are closer and Doodle and the boss are working hard. But, Kenny Franklin, the brother of Molly's best friend, is arrested for possession of pot. It is not his but Coach tells him not to snitch on his friend. Molly and her friend train Doodle the find pot so they can clear Kenny.

At the scent trials, Doodle fails! While another who couldn't pass if he were led to the bugs passes. Molly, her friends, and Doodle figure out what is going on there, too.

A. very good second book in the series.

The book is written from the point of view of a dog - that's a first for me! Doodle the Labrodoodle narrates the world as he sees it. That is quaint and humorous, but it wears thin quite soon. The storyline too revolves around some high school students, and drugs, so I would say this book is good for YA readers.

“Out-Sniffed”, the marvelous successor to Susan J. Kroupa's "Bed-Bugged", is warmhearted and funny but never superficial. Doodle, the bedbug-detecting labradoodle, comprehends every situation immediately, while the human beings in the story do their best, fumble, and then get up and try again.

Out-Sniffed more than exceeds the expectations you have after enjoying Bed-Bugged. In Bed-Bugged Susan J. Kroupa touches on serious topics of children's coming to terms with less than perfect home lives, on problems of illegal immigrants, and on problems of single fathers trying to earn a living and do justice to their children's needs. These problems continue in "Out-Sniffed", but Kroupa, without ever being heavy-handed, now adds problems of bullying, teen-aged drug use, a well-meaning but often helpless police force, and inept pet owners to the mix.

Fortunately, the ten-year-old daughter, with the help of Doodle, manages to solve these problems and Doodle's employer's problems with stupid criminals while learning to accept her flawed but loving parents for the complex human beings that they are.
Doodle occasionally indulges himself in some gentle sarcasm, but
always lets slip at the end how much he cherishes his human
companions.

Favored with a wry intelligence and clear-headed view of human beings, Doodle manages to clear up mysteries, repair relationship problems, and solve most of the other problems of his human employers, despite the fact that said humans are woefully incapable of understanding his unambiguous commands. I haven't met a fictional character in a long time that I enjoyed melding my mind with as much as Doodle. Susan J. Kroupa claims Doodle is inspired by Shadow, her independent labradoodle, but I think I recognized a few human sources of inspiration, at least every time Doodle commented "Just sayin' ..."

So, I recommend this book highly to anyone who is aged 9-12, who knows someone aged 9-12, who likes dogs, or who might enjoy spending some time in the mind of a brilliant labradoodle who remains tolerant of human foibles.

Bed-Bugged and Out-Sniffed are both highly entertaining reads. Do yourself a favor and take the time for them.

This second cozy mystery written by a dog is even better than the first. Kroupa gets three plot lines going, two being mysteries and the other is vital character development between Molly, the smart girl at science school, and her estranged mom.

Meanwhile, Kenny, brother to Molly's bestie Tanya, is falsely arrested for pot, and Molly and Tanya set out to exonerate him by a very unusual method that gets them into trouble, and Doodle, the labradoodle narrator, has to take certification tests to be an official bed bug sniffer. Piece of cake for a smart dog, right? Wrong.

A lot of fun, especially as Kroupa clearly knows and loves dogs.

I'm a Doodle fan! A lively, engaging read with great characters and a solid story line.

Molly is clever, quick-witted, and passionate about helping others, and Doodle is quite possibly the most entertaining narrator I've found in quite some time. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book today!

Molly and Doodle do it again in this adventure! This is a fun read and fast-paced, showing the value of family and friends relationships and especially teamwork. As Molly helps her father in his work, she learns how to cross-train in her super detective work to find the sources of wrongdoings and an unlawful product. Many characters are re-introduced, namely the key people from "Bed-Bugged" and many new people are introduced. Molly is very gutsy as she searches for the information she needs as she trains Doodle to find these sources. The author, Susan Kroupa, keeps you reading this with her talent in writing, with Doodle as the narrator. I look forward to reading her other books with new sags for Molly and Doodle!

A Mystery the whole family can enjoy

Tired of every mystery involving a murder? Wish you could share a book with the rest of your family? "Cozy " or " Gentle" mysteries could be your answer. And this book will not only entertain but inform about the amazing senses of our four-footed family members. A great introduction to mystery novels for young people, especially if they love dogs. The sub-plot of Molly's
divorced parents is also gently handled. All in all, warm as a
loveable dog.

Doodle wins again

This book is part of a series. Each book is a mystery. The book is narrated by a Labradoodle. Doodle has been trained to find bed bugs and he is very proud of this skill. Molly's dad has the business of getting rid of bed bugs. Doodle loves Molly and protects her when needed. Molly is a great detective and gets involved in all kinds of mysteries for a kid. The writer makes all characters interesting and believable. I think all animal lovers will love the book and mystery lovers will too. I look forward to the next one.

This was a delightful mystery, written from a dog's perspective. I loved it! Doodlebug is a dog trained to sniff out live bedbugs. He sometimes has trouble with human metaphors, like "pothead" or "greased lightning". This is the second book in a series, and I want to find and read the remaining books now. Although it is written at a middle-school level, I found it interesting and entertaining throughout.

Bed Bugs and Doodle hurray!!!

The dog is a great character and so is Molly. Molly seems to get the right ideas and how to prove it. Her and Doodle work well together. I loved the first book and now I loved the second book. The author does a good job of showing the right and wrong ways people can hurt dogs. Doodle always wins in the end. I recommend this book to anyone who loves animals and loves to read.

Surprisingly good

Yes, this book surprised me. First time I’ve read a book from a dogs point of view, not the first time I’ve tried reading one though. This one is not silly. It’s a good read, well written- just a few spellcheck errors and such, not enough to take away from the story. It’s the kind of book a child would like to read as it involves a 10 yr old being a main character.

Engaging and Entertaining

Doodle, the sniffing labradoodle, narrates a fun story about finding bedbugs and other smelly stuff. The humans are interesting, too, especially Molly, a 10-year-old who sees problems to be solved where adults see trouble but no way out. Sophisticated readers will enjoy the characters and Doodle's unique point of view, but will find the story easy to anticipate. Younger readers, though, should find themselves engaged and entertained.

A Labradoodle, named, what else, Doodle, is the star of this story. He is trained to follow the scent of bedbugs and his owner is determined for him to get a certificate that will make it easier to find jobs. Molly, the owner's daughter discovers that something is not quite right with the testing and proves she's correct.
An amusing story that will make you eager to learn more about Labradoodles!

EBK-M, Kindle, @ 2012, Read 10/16/24, A Doodle Bugged Mystery, Bk 2, Fiction, Cozy Mystery. Doodle, Molly & Boss are working hard to get Doodle certified as a Bed-Bug Sniffing dog, but Doodle fails, and Molly just knows that the tests were fixed, and she needs to prove it. In the meantime, Molly trains Doodle as a Pot-Sniffing dog, to clear friend's brother Kenny of mistaken charges of using or selling drugs. 3☆'s = Good I enjoyed the antics in this installment!

Second cozy mystery featuring Doodle, the bedbug detecting labradoodle, and his people.

This time around Doodle’s boss wants to become a certified team for detecting bedbugs and Molly’s friend’s brother gets accused of being a drug dealer.

Love Doodle’s humorous narration. His observations about humans crack me up.

Great series option for middle graders who love dogs and light detective work.

This was the second book in this series. I had to get used to it for the book is narrated by a dog. Both books were mysteries without dead bodies. And I like that. Many cozy mysteries are situated in small towns. I'm not an American and have no idea how big a small town is or how many inhabitants there are. But sometimes the number of inhabitants must be severely decimated. Therefore, mysteries that do not involve murders are a blessing. And smart pets are always a good thing.

Doodle and Molly rock!!

What do you do when you know you have the best sniffer dog in the world and he "fails"?? You find out what really smells. Molly believes in her friends and her dog and goes to bat for both. I enjoyed the twist and turns and the adults who didn't have a clue.

Out-sniffed

The story line was unique as it was told through the dog's perspective. I found that the story was written for a much younger audience. At times I wanted to put the book down and not pick it up again, but I persevered to the end.

Don't think I will be reading the next book in the series. But would recommend it highly for a younger audience.

Adventures with Doodle

This book is so funny! The dog's viewpoint is hilarious and enlightening. You never know what to expect. There were some editing problems however--name change, wrong tense, etc., so didn't give full 5 stars.

I really like this Doodlebugged series. They are about Doodle, a bed-bug-sniffing dog and the mysteries he and Molly (the boss's 10-year-old daughter) have to solve. The books have Doodle as the narrator, and I really enjoy that. Good children's books for grades 3+.

Sweet, cozy mystery

This is the second book in the Doodle series and, in my opinion, a stronger story than the first. This time we have two storylines that connect to solve two mysteries. A nice read when you want something light.

I absolutely love this book! # 2 of a series. The whole story is written from Doodle the bed bug sniffer dogs point of view. He has failed as a service dog and his second owner did not work out but he is a very upbeat, easy going kind of dog with self confidence and loyalty. Just a great fun story.

Cute book

Definitely a young reader book. Good characters.
Enjoyed reading Doodle's thoughts and attitudes.
Thought the police should have done a drug run through the school rather than just one locker.

Out Sniffed

These cute books with such an original story line have been just the thing for 2020. There is so much conflict in the world that I've enjoyed sitting back and reading the adventures of Doodle and Molly. Very well written and you will love the chacters.
