Willow

It took me thirty years to finally leave. I packed what little belongings I had and made my way to the smallest town, on the map, that I could find.

I didn’t expect to find Elias Woods. Tall, broody, and closed off. With demons of his own, neither of us were ready for love. But sometimes you don’t get a choice.

I should have known he’d find me. That he’d never stop looking. After all, he always gets what he wants. And he wants me.

You can’t love someone else until you love yourself. But how do you learn to love yourself, while running from a past that won’t let you go?

Elias

Ten years, and the pain is still there. Secluded, alone, and shutting the world out is how I’ve been living.

I had no plans to change until Willow Morgan. Blonde, angry, and walls up higher than mine. She was running from her past and I was living in mine. Neither of us had any business falling for each other.

I never thought I’d find love again. But when she crawls through my darkness and brings light into my soul, I can’t resist the pull.

How do I fully let her in knowing I don’t deserve happiness?

Will the cleansing of the trauma of two broken souls leave them clean?

Willow used to be carefree and the life of the party, until she met James, he had all the red flags but she was blinded until it was too late. She is able to escape but she constantly has to watch over her shoulder with his threat playing like a broken record in her head “If you run, I will always find you”. Spending several days in the library a few towns over, she got some sympathy from the librarian and they stumbled upon a cabin for practically a steal. So not only did she luck out with a cabin they names “clean” but she was also offered a job to work at the campgrounds by the owner. So with a place to stay, a job, and coworkers and neighbors who become family, she opens up to them about he past and how she ended up here after a few incidents. She never meant to bring trouble to their doorsteps.

Elias raised by his mother since he was 6 years old after his father walked out on them in the middle of the night never looking back. His mother raised him to be a respectful, loving, hardworking man. Once upon a time he thought he had it all, thought his happily ever after was in his sights until a terrible accident took what he thought was his world away. 10 years later when the new girl comes to town her beauty knocks him off his axis, spinning his brain to show him that he can love again. But his past has a tight grip on him just as her does, when he starts to lower his walls he sees she’s everything he’s needed to bring him back to happiness.

When you leave the past in your rear view mirror, it doesn’t always stay there. When it rears it’s ugly head trying to claim your new found happiness do you stay and fight or do you lay down and take the beating thinking you don’t deserve the happiness.

MY REVIEW
This book was so extremely emotional.  They both had traumatic past that were very sad.  I will say that Elias listened to everything about Willow and was there for her through it all.  He is very romantic.  I gave this book 5 stars and would suggest it for others. These are two of my favorite quotes.

"The rage is gone when you're
around. You're the calm that my storm needs. Everything I've been through, the pain I struggle with, it disappears
when you're here,"

"The best love is the unexpected kind.
The one that creeps up on you when you
least expect it. You never see it coming and you just wake up one day and it hits you like a freight train,"' Willow says.

"You're everything to me. You're exactly the
breath of fresh air that I needed. The
final piece to the puzzle that's been missing for so long. You're my end game. You're it for me,"I tell her.

Y’all, grab your blanket, snacks, and your favorite drink cause I finished this book in one sitting and I have a feeling you will too! By the time you are finished you’ll be begging Nikki for book 2 in the series 🖤

Willow may have grown up with two parents but they were far from the caring type. She could do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. Which meant getting into a relationship at 17 that most parents would have been concerned about. Fast forward 13 years and she is now on the run, finally getting away. When she settles on a cute little mountain town, she never thought she would find people who’d become more of a family to her than her own blood relatives. She also never in a million years thought she would trust another man. That is until Elias comes along.

Elias has his own tragic past that holds him back from living his life to the fullest. Although his mom and friends tell him it’s okay to move on, he just can’t stop blaming himself. So when Willow comes to work at his family’s property, he tries to stay clear of her. Keyword is try because she brings out feelings he hasn’t felt in a long time, and makes him want to protect her when trouble comes into town.

Will they be able to get over their pasts and finally move on? Will someone from their past threaten what they are building?

Well you’ll just have to read this story to find out those answers and more!

Clean by Nikki Pennington is book one in the Cherrywood Creek Series. I’m already a fan of how this author weaves their tales so when I read the blurb for this book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands/eyes on it. When I started this book, I couldn’t put my kindle down. What a story! What a rollercoaster of a ride my emotions took with Willow and Elias’ story. My heart cracked at times. These characters were written so well, it was able to understand and connect with them. The chemistry and tension was so on point. The strength that they have is incredible! And oh my the spice was just a chefs kiss. Elias is just so incredibly swoon-able and romantic. I just loved this story so much. Everything about this tale is great from the writing to the plot. I’m already looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend reading this fabulous book by Nikki Pennington.

Willow and Elias’ story is one that takes the reader on an emotional journey that will break your heart just to mend it again and I devoured every second of it. Willow is running from a past that has hurt her and when she gets a chance to start over she grabs it and runs with it. When she takes a job in a cute mountain town she plans to keep her head down, work hard, and finally breath but what she isn’t expecting is a man like Elias to turn her world upside down. With a troubled past too Elias is haunted every day and still hasn’t come to terms with it all, so he comes off as this broody guy with a chip on his shoulder. These two have a pull that neither one really wants but it’s too much to keep ignoring especially when Willow’s life is in danger. Elias steps up as fierce protector but also seeing Willow and how incredible she is and craving more of her. The pain from both of their pasts is something that they will have to face if they expect what they discover to become more. Can they let go of the pain and help heal each other or will it all be too much to overcome? Another incredible story that the author has created to make us fall in love with such beautiful words and even more beautiful characters.

This was such a beautiful book of healing and finding true love. Both Elias and Willow have been hurt and neither have fully gotten over it. Two broken souls who find each other and heal each other. One broken by losing his love and the other beat down by the one person she thought loved her.
Both characters are great. I do wish the scene with her ex was a little longer with a little more drama. I felt like it was short and not enough if he's the monster she claimed he was. Oh and did I miss him divorcing her? Her and Elias moved on like nothing happened afterwards and I feel like I missed that part.
The book with quirky fun characters you will love!

Thank you so much Nikki for this ARC!

Elias believes he’s broken beyond repair and Willow is trying to keep her head above water.

This story is full of broken pasts, heartbreak, and growth.

I’m crying, screaming, and begging for these two characters to get a second chance at life and love.
This is a book touches on heavy topics, but it is so beautifully written.

BAHHH this ending melted my cold black heart 😭🥹

Oh, all I can say is wow! This book had me feeling everything imaginable. The two main characters both have troubled/upsetting pasts and are working everyday to overcome them. The development and strength shown between them is *chef's Kiss*. I love that they were there for each other and grew together beautifully. The HEA is perfect and just makes you love Elias so so much. I cant wait to purchase the physical copy of this book cause I will definitely be reading it again!

Clean is an emotional, small town romance.
Willow is starting over after leaving her abusive husband. She takes a job in a small mountain town, and instantly love her new boss and quirky co-worker. Her bosses son Elias? He is a whole different story.
Elias suffered a tragic loss 10 years ago, and has not let himself move on.
Willow & Elias become friends, but can they break down each others walls?
When Willow is in danger Elias will do whatever he can to protect her.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review…
Elias and Willow, from the beginning, are seemingly very different people. But as the story goes on, and more details are revealed, you learn they really aren’t so different.
These MCs are fierce, loving and both deserving so much more than they’ve given themselves credit for.
Clean is an extremely emotional read that is sure to give any reader the rollercoaster ride of their life.

I was not expecting the plot of this story one bit! I really went in thinking that it would be a sweet love story but boy was I wrong! The stuff Willow had to go through was so sad and scary I was checking my surroundings! I loved the suspense and the entire topic of growth and finding yourself. My guy Elias came in like a knight in shining armor and I was here for it!! Loved this story!

This is the first book in the Cherrywood Creek series and it’s safe to say I’m excited.
Emotions were high in this book and it definitely had me in my feels.
Willow and Elias both had traumatic pasts but the chemistry and pull between them is too strong to ignore.
This was a highly charged story full of strength, healing, passion and love.
I thoroughly recommend!

This book had me from start to finish! I was sucked into all things Willow and Elias. Two broken souls who find that maybe they can have true happiness. When the past doesn’t stay in the past these two are left with the choice to fight or walk away from the happiness they both deserve. This is a definite MUST READ!! I can’t wait for what’s coming next!

Just finished an ARC of Clean. I loved it. I didn’t want to put it down. It’s a small town romance with the FMC running away from her past and meeting the MMC who doesn’t want to give him heart away after losing someone he loved. They both saved each other with a HEA.
