Why I Quit: Reflections on a Fitness Career

Rate this book
MUST READ before you advance your career in fitness industry whether it is Zumba Fitness©, Bokwa©, Body Jam©, Body Flow©, whatever fitness program you are associated with. I have been in the fitness industry for over 6 years and I have had several positions and opportunities and this book describes the ups and downs of my fitness career and MY reasons to walk away from it all.

I know that this book is a bit on the controversial side. I exposed all my experience within the fitness industry and didn't leave any stone unturned. Through my experiences you will gain a better understanding of what is involved in advancing your career in the fitness industry. Through my experiences I am hoping that you make better judgements for your career aspirations, knowing the good and the bad. I am hoping that my decision process can guide the younger generation to make the right decisions for THEMSELVES no matter what they are up against.

I am uncovering the curtains behind my confusions, struggles, and how I finally found a clear vision and path forward for my career. This book is a great, a fun, and at times a painful read and I hope you enjoy it and apply it to your decision making process and aspirations especially within the fitness industry.

My book that I believe every fitness instructor should read. My intention with this book is to help the young instructor, doesn't matter which program they are associated with, see the early signs so they don't push themselves, their finances, and most importantly their health to the limit before it is too late... The style of the book is intentionally written in a casual format, I wanted it to sound like as if I was talking to my best friend. It is the approach I have taken with everything I did with the program I was associated with. I talk to my students and co-workers the way I am and see them as my friends and wanted the best for them. I do know others might have different experiences in the industry maybe with different formats but this book is about "my" reasons to quit. It is not a generalization, it is a memoir of my fitness experience without hiding anything so other instructors can relate and young instructors can understand the dedication and commitment that this type of career requires. Any career requires dedication and commitment but this book focuses on a fitness career which has additional considerations.

It was OK. Just OK. Lack.of substance and bland writing got in the way of the message. And that is too bad.
