FIVE IM TEMPTED BY THIS SOLDIER STARS.
This Brazen novel is predictably wonderful, it has chemistry by the pageful and there's more romance inside than a New York Tiffany's store before valentines day. Nicolette day has provided a full on dreamy, steamy, heart pounding story and you all know I can't resist an enemies to 'I'll-take-you-anywhere-anyhow-as-long-as-I-can-get-a-taste' story. This author has grabbed my heart and given it a good old fashioned squeeze. There wasn't even a teeny tiny bit of doubt that I didn't adore this story, everything about it screamed 'perfect-for-Lisa' and I was already having that five star love feeling by page two. If I was loved up by book one in this series, then this book 'put a ring on it'. I can't wait to read more from this delightful author. What's it all about?
Lilly Grayson finds herself stranded in the middle of a storm with no other option than to take the offer of a road trip with the annoying but irresistible, Nate Jennings. Lilly has no other choice than to join her nemisis in this 15 hour long journey if she plans on arriving safely to her best friends wedding. Lilly decides to ignore the raging temptation of this Six foot marine as thoughts of their last 'encounter' is still fresh in her mind. But anger over their last connection soon gives way to lust as they battle it out to arrive in one piece to the wedding. But when feelings that have no place start to form, this duo have face the decision to fight for what they have or allow demons from Nate's past and the reality that this marine doesn't plan to stay get in the way of a future together.
What did I love?
From beginning to end I was out and out addicted by this story line. Predictable? Well used plot? Yes to both, but luckily for me this storyline works every time and I don't really mind that it was predicable, not in the least because it made my heart race, my toes curl and I admit I even had a tear or two. You want seduction, charm and sexual frustration? This book was bursting at the seams with it all and more. It most definitely has the 'I-don't-want-to-put-this-book-down-until-I've-finished' quality attached to it. The couple of this story were wonderfully in the spot light and although we get to see the characters from book one, the book from start to finish keeps the focus on Lilly and Nate. Undeniably this couple were setting off fireworks between them with their desire right from chapter one there is no denying that this author has a wicked talent of writing intimately, filthy scenes. This book should come with the warning 'don't enter unless you are happy to be thoroughly pleasured' attached to it. All in all I was armoured with everything contained in the 206 pages of novel and I'm sure it's a book I'll be tempted to pick up and read again.
Final thoughts ...
I can gladly and wholeheartedly admit that I adore the brazen collection. This book comes in as one of my favourites, there is nothing that I enjoy more than to grab a book that is full of chemistry, romance and love and this book gave me all that and more. 'Tempted by the soldier' is like my reading equivalent of a cadbury's dairy milk chocolate bar to a raving chocoholic. I'm sure I'll always be tempted by this authors novels and I'm excited to read more. If like me you are brazen book proud, add this to your 'to be read' you won't be disappointed. Enjoy, kisses.

5 Tempting Stars
I first became acquainted with this author when I read and absolutely loved the first book in this series, which was a novella, No Strings AttachedNo Strings Attached. As much as I loved the deliciously tatted Jace, I also remember hoping to get a book for his sexy Marine brother, Nate. Well obviously the book gods have smiled on me, because not only did I get it, but it even managed to blow the first book out of the water. I LOVED this book. I'm talking couldn't-put-it-down love. Read-it-in-one-sitting love. I-can't-flippin-wait-for-more-in-this-series-love. And last but certainly not least, multiple-panty-changes-LOVED.
But just in case you're still wondering if I enjoyed this book...
One year ago, Lilly gave in to the burning attraction between her and Nate, only to be left a wad of cash for a cab the next morning and a lecture on how a girl like her should have known better than to think this was something more than one night. So suffice it to say, she harbors just a tiny bit resentment towards the sexy Marine. It certainly doesn't help that she's forced to see him on a regular basis after since he's the brother of her best friend's fiance. But now the only thing they share are insults and and glares. No matter how much their friends try to mend the edges of their tattered relationship, she doesn't see it ever changing.
But now her best friend is getting married and she's stranded without a flight due to a tropical storm. Left with no other option, she agrees to a ride to the wedding from the one man she's determined to avoid at all costs. Forced into closer proximity, it only solidifies one fact for her, as much as she may hate Nate, she still wants him. She may try to feel an attraction to other men, but it's just no use.
Nate isn't quite the asshole that he seems. Suffering from deep rooted survivor's guilt and wounds from his last tour, the last thing he feels a woman like Lilly needs is a broken man like him. So he does his best to push her away. There's just one problem with that; every insult that flies between them only seems to heat his blood more. There's no denying he still wants the beautiful blonde, and he's not going to take the barb flying from her mouth sitting down.
Lilly and Nate can only fight the attraction still burning between them for so long before finally giving in. And once they do...well let's just say that Nate does not disappoint.
I loved this book so hard! It made me laugh, it made me swoon, it even brought a tear or two from my cold and pervy little heart. I read it in one sitting. I almost didn't want it to end. And then that ending!! Holy mother of swoon.
Perfection! We also got to catch up with Jace and Hayden from book one and get a beautiful continuation to their HEA. So suffice it to say, I devoured this book and now I'm sitting in pervy anticipation of future releases from Nicolette Day because the woman just seems to get better and better with each book.
If you like a slight change up on the enemies to lover trope, wounded and broodingly sexy Marines, sassy heroines, and a whole lot of sexy times, then get to the one-clicking because this book is not to be missed!

Have you ever had a romance/connection you feel so intensely, and you were sure he felt the same, only to have it crash and burn? That’s a BIG knife to the heart! Ouch! And it’s exactly what we have in Tempted by the Soldier. No worries though, this is a second chance romance.
One year ago, Lily had one of the best nights of her life with Nate only to be humiliated and hurt come morning. She’d rather have a root canal than spend fifteen hours in a truck with him, but things are really not going her way in this case. Faced with missing her best friend’s wedding or catching a riding with Nate, she must put aside her feelings, suck it up, and take the trip. Lily will just have to save her murderous plans for after the wedding!
Nate gave into a brewing attraction with Lily one year ago and the intense feelings she drew out in him made him run. Nate is still reeling from survivor guilt after a horrible helicopter accident, and he doesn’t feel worthy of Lily or entitled to any happiness she might bring. He re-enlisted in the Marines and is set to go back on duty in just two short weeks, so he knows he must keep his distance in this road trip. A road trip he knows is sure to stretch his will power and control to the limits.
By now you all know I’m a huge sucker for a second chance romance. When you’ve had your heart broken by someone that you think is “the one” and then have the chance to make it work again, it’s like a dream come true.
Lily was so heartbroken by Nate she’s determined to torture him and show him what he passed on a year ago, and I was rooting for her to teach him a lesson, until I had Nate’s side, as misguided as it was. The verbal sparring back and forth was great fun, and raised the heat between Nate and Lily to scorching levels! Some of the scenes when they inevitably give in…whoa! HOT with a capital H!
“What do you want?”
His eyes flickered down to the towel, then he dropped his hand and pushed his way into the bathroom, forcing her backward until her bottom hit the edge of the counter. He braced his hands on either side of her hips, caging her in. Her breaths kicked up a notch—matching the frantic beating of her heart.
“You,” he growled.
Oh, my…
But there was a tender side to each of them as they discovered each other’s history, bonding them together.
Nicolette Day masterfully blended the tender and emotional with the spice, making this romance a satisfying and touching story. There is a novella, No Strings Attached, about Lily’s best friend Hayden and Nate’s brother Jace, set before this story and I plan on picking it up. We get a peak at these two and I’d like to see how their romance started. Both of these stories are only .99 cents, a steal of a deal!

4.5 Destined, Stubborn, Totally Into You Stars

Damn... Nicolette Day knows how to turn up the heat and in all sorts of dreamy sexy ways. In this second part of her Falling for You series, we find out how she plans to get us from the first page and carry the steam and heart to the last.
This is about the other Jennings brother. We met Nate in No Strings Attached and there was some indication he came back from the service damaged... PTSD and dark. He had been working through it while assisting his brother, Jace, at the bar they owned. They both were hot, flashy in the bartending, throwing the bottles and bagging the babes.
Well, Jace finally got the girl he had wanted and they were now getting married. The timing sucked though, as a huge weather storm was happening, grounding all the flights. Jace has asked Nate to pick up Lilly, as she is doing the photography for the wedding and also is the soon to be bride's best friend. He needs to bring her to the wedding as she was stuck without any way to get there.
Normally neither Lilly or Nate would ever try to be in the same room, let alone a cab of a truck for 15 hours as their history is dangerous. Neither of them wants to be in the same breathing space as all either of them can remember is their time together and how it ended.
She had the best sex of her life and thought there was a connection... only to find cash on the dresser and no Nate...this leaving her feeling used and slammed as if she was a whore.
He had the best sex of his life and freaked at how he wanted to be with her, take care of her, and knew he was no good for her...He left the cab fare to make sure she was ok and flew out of there.
Both are pissed and like two mortal enemies, they go at it every time they are in contact with each other, never really clearing up the situation of saying what needs to be said.
But does that stop their attraction???

Well, then you know the answer to that question, don't you...
Of course, they are hot for each other and lucky us, we get to be there while they work out their problems... And work them out, they do... in a number of ways, ah hmmm...
What I do appreciate, though, is the care and changes both needed to go through in order to get to the end. It always gets to me when a man can finally see he does not have to carry every burden alone... that allowing someone to understand and just listen can be the best for all concerned.
War-torn Warriors are part of our lives today. We need to be there for them and encourage them to feel free to talk to the necessary people out there who can help. They also need to understand holding everything in is not the answer and only causes more pain in the end.
Ms. Day, I want you to know, job well done and I will look forward to your next publication because I know you get it. You know how to create characters we will become invested in and want to follow.

4.5--Soldier Boy--Stars!!
Nate....poor, pitiful, damaged, broken Nate. Nate is a search and rescue pilot for the Marines. On his last tour his chopper gets gunned down and he is the soul survivor. He lost all of his men.
Hale. Clemmons. Keller. Puckett. Rivera. Hanson. Lopez.
Nate suffers from nightmares and depression. He has anger issues. He's sort of lost...he doesn't feel like he deserves to belong in the civilian world.
Nate spends a night with Lilly...only to leave cab money and flee the following morning.
As a result, the two can barely stand to be in the same room with each other. Too bad Lilly's BFF and Nate's brother are getting married. Lilly's flight has been cancelled and her only ride to the wedding is Nate.
15 hours in a truck. Lilly and Nate....Private Panty-Melter. Colonel Cranky. Sergeant Docuhebag. General Jerk.
Of course the sexual tension between these two is off the charts HOT and one spark away from full-on explosion.
They learn a lot about each other along the way. Like maybe Nate and Lilly aren't so different after all. Lilly wants to give Nate a chance but she's afraid he'll abandon her again. And Nate's hiding something that could ruin everything before it even gets started.
Everything pretty much blows up once the cat is out of the bag. But Nate and Lilly eventually get on the same page just in time for Nate to head back off to war.
Loved the epilogue. Overall this was a really sweet, cute, light, sexy, quick read.

They learn a lot about each other along the way. Like maybe Nate and Lilly aren't so different after all. Lilly wants to give Nate a chance but she's afraid he'll abandon her again. And Nate's hiding something that could ruin everything before it even gets started.
Everything pretty much blows up once the cat is out of the bag. But Nate and Lilly eventually get on the same page just in time for Nate to head back off to war.
"Lilly, when I met you, I didn't even know who I was anymore," he said softly. "But you made me realize who I wanted to be. You made me want to be the kind of man who deserves to wake up next to someone like you every morning for the rest of his life."
Loved the epilogue. Overall this was a really sweet, cute, light, sexy, quick read.

We met Nate and Lilly in the first book in this series, No Strings Attached,which was a novella. Nate is brother to Jace and Lilly works with Hayden and are really close friends. It’s not necessary to read the first book though .. you just catch a brief glimpse of them in book one. Lilly is snarky, hilarious, fun, gorgeous, and takes no crap off of anyone. She is probably one of my favorite Brazen girls ever.. Ok, although she’s seriously attracted to Nate, she can’t stand him. After a night of some of the best sex of her life, Nate took off the next morning while she was still asleep without a note or a goodbye.. just a wad of cash for the cab ride home. Needless to say, this hurt Lilly and pissed her in a major way. In a perfect world, she’d never have to lay eyes on the sexy soldier again.
Nate…Nate…Nate.. that man is just sin on a stick. So fine, so alpha, and a total jerk. He’s also emotionally wounded. Yep, we’ve got a military man carrying around some baggage from a tragic loss while in battle overseas. Lilly figures though.. since Nate left her high and dry, she’d at least tempt him and show him exactly what he left. She’ll wear her shortest dress and look killer and drive him crazy.. and she does a damn fine job of it.
But a bad storm turns a 15 hour car ride into a much longer drive that means several days and NIGHTS together. The sexual tension was just through the roof with these two..they would fight constantly , but there was always a very high level of attraction that neither could deny. They would fight and then both be so angry that all they wanted to do was rip each others clothes off .. Well.. there’s only so much tension a body can take before they finally explode with some of the best angry sex ever. These two were like fire and ice, but when they hooked up they were totally consumed with each other.. it was HOT.. it was CRAZY HOT.
They realize they are both crazy about each other… but Nate struggles to go of all his baggage and let himself be loved by Lilly. His past still haunts him and he feels like he can't move forward until he fixes, what he feels like, was his failure in the line of duty. Lilly definitely has her work cut out for her with Nate after she realizes he’s not the complete jerk she thought he was. Sure, he’s very opinionated and bossy and can still push all her buttons, but she does the same thing to him. Nate wants to ring her neck one minute and then kiss her silly next. They just can’t keep their hands off each other.
He grabbed her by the hips and roughly sat her on the counter. The spark created by the simple act of him putting his hands on her forced the breath from her lungs. His touch burned her. Branded her. He wedged between her legs and his lips trailed down her throat as he shoved his palms upher thighs. His thumbs swept so close to her center that she almost came. “Oh God…what are we doing?” she gasped. “If you want me to stop, say the word, Princess.” His breath, all lemon and mint, danced over her lips, teasing, tempting. “What do you want from me, Nate?” “I want you, Lilly,” he said again. “I want your taste in my mouth. I love love LOVED seeing these two come together and of course there’s and HEA with an absolutely awesome epilogue. I loved everything about this story from page one until the end and I cannot wait for Nicollettes next book. Don’t let this one pass you up, especially if you are a fan of the Brazen and Entangled publishing titles like me because this book is exactly what most of us love about those books. A great story with lots of steam and an amazing couple that were just made for each other.

4 Hot Alpha Man in Uniform stars****!
Sometimes a girl just needs to read a Brazen novel, and I thought this was a good one! It had fun dialogue and banter, hot love scenes, and great sexual tension.
Nate and Lilly had a falling out after a date gone wrong a year ago, but because they both have to get to the same wedding in the middle of a storm, they are forced to go on a long road trip together. Their love/hate relationship for the first half of the book was very entertaining.
"It's cute. In fact, now that I think about it, the nickname princess might not be so fitting. I should call you something more appropriate, like Tinkerbell."

4 Soldier Boy & Princess Stars!
You are given a little tease in the Novella – ‘No Strings Attached’, that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the relationship between Lilly and Nate, and boy are we given an access all areas view of it in Tempted by the Soldier. I am head-over-heels in love with the Falling For You Series so far, and Nicolette Day is definitely one of my auto-buy authors after reading this installment.
Lilly and Nate have history; it was hot, brief and unforgettable. But after leaving her money on the dresser and going A.W.O.L the morning after, things have been a little frosty between them over the past year, to say the least.
After her flight is cancelled due to an incoming tropical storm, Lilly reluctantly agrees to a road trip with Nate, travelling to Hayden and Jace’s wedding. 15 hours stuck together in his truck is definitely something neither of them wants, but Lilly is Hayden’s best friend and the wedding photographer and being Jace’s brother, Nate hasn’t really got any excuse to get out of it either.
From the get-go the verbal sparring is absolutely priceless. I can honestly say there are so many laugh out loud conversations between these two as their journey progresses that I was spoilt for choice as to what to use in this review, but I have gone with my absolute favorite –
Nate – “Could you get your feet off the dash?”… “I just waxed it”
Lilly – “What a coincidence,”…”I just waxed too.” LOL!
Nate knows he screwed up badly with Lilly, when he walked out and left her that morning, and is harboring some serious feelings of guilt about it. Unfortunately, that is overshadowed by the terrible remorse and PTSD he is struggling with after returning from his last mission. He wants Lilli, but doesn’t believe he deserves her, and fears he will do what he does best if he risks a relationship with her.
Lily didn’t deserve to be another casualty in his life. She deserved more.
I cried a lot for Nate as the book progressed, it was heartbreaking reading of his struggles with his inner demons, and feelings of remorse and inadequacy. The guilt and the ghost’s he carries with him, for leaving his brother at a pivotal time in their lives, as well as for the loss of his team on his last mission is all encompassing for him, and because of it he believes he doesn’t deserve or is entitled to feel happiness in his own life.
Lilly is exactly what he needs, and he is absolutely what she wants, as their trip progresses she sees a side of him that is so much more than the cocky, arrogant ass she has had him labeled as, and because of that her feelings for him develop. But she won’t run after him, she spent her childhood watching her mother waste her life running after, and waiting around for the wrong guy, and she refuses to do the same.
Nate - “You like doing this to me don’t you?”…”Making me fucking crazy for you.”
As you would expect with an Entangled Brazen title, the sex is hot, energetic and well written, but what I think really makes this such a great, great read is the development of the characters and their story as a whole, it isn’t just about the sex, it is about the two of them together, each making the other whole, in spite of their perceived weaknesses. I loved the end, I want more from this series, and I am crossing everything that I don’t have to wait too long for it.
And if I haven’t already convinced you that I loved Nate, I cannot finish this review without adding another one of my favorite conversations between him and Lilly –
Lilly – “Enjoying the view?”
Nate – “The view is a little hard to miss in that dress, Princess. I wasn’t aware Kleenex had come out with a women’s fashion line.”

Nate a.k.a "Colonel Cranky. Sergeant Douchebag. General Jerk", is a broken no longer soon to be ex-Marine. He survived something he never should have and now he is paying the price. Haunted every minute of his life, there is no way to get rid of his ghosts, unless of course you count the times he’s verbally sparring with the smart-mouthed-sexy-as-hell, Lily. After being humiliated by Nate a year ago, she has no desire of ever giving him the power to hurt her again, willing to not let him see how much he affects her, she hides behind her tough girl don’t-give-a-shit-attitude and chooses to make the next fifteen hours of Nate’s life a living hell, after all payback’s a bitch…
Nate can give as good as he can get, making her plans backfire on her, testing her own damn control. It was supposed to be easy, drive him wild and make him suffer...
Lily has always wanted more, hell she deserves more, but Nate’s made it loud and clear, more is not in his vocabulary. But as the silence continues in the cab of the truck, things are slipped that were never meant to be said, making you wonder what is he hiding. Nate knows she deserves a better man than him, and just when she thinks they finally hit a turning point in their fucked-up relationship, he does what he’s so good at doing, pushes her away.
Tempted by the Soldier is all about a sassy heroine, a dirty-mouthed-tortured-hero and all the ways they hate to love each other. Not only were they too busy fighting each other but themselves that it made every scene explode with their chemistry. But this was so much more than a steamy HOT read, there was heart to it too, dealing with some tough issues. The book isn’t drawn out in full minute details, but it covers all the important parts not making you feel like you’re missing something. And I have to say I really liked the ending, it wasn’t a cookie cutter ending but one that made sense. I still got my HEA in the end, but how they got there was definitely different then where other authors may have taken it.

Lilly is on her way to best friend's wedding. Hayden and Jace from No Strings AttachedS are getting married and Lilly is doing their photography.
Unfortunately for her, the flight to get her there was cancelled. The only way for her to get there is taking a ride with Nate, the groom’s brother. All Lilly can think is
Lilly can’t stand Nate. There lies the problem. She hooked up with him and had the best sex ever only to be left cash for a cab the next morning and a lecture saying she should have known it would only be one night.
What she doesn’t know is that Nate had the best sex of his life and freaked out and ran away.
Lilly now absolutely despises Nate, which sucks since she has to see him so often as it is.
“The only issue to work out was that Nate Jennings suffered from a severe case of assholeitis. Unless they'd found a miracle cure, she didn't see a future that included playing nice with soldier boy.”
Nate loves her but pushes her away due to his PTSD not to mention the fact that he’s headed back into the military so he would be leaving her anyway. He thinks she’s too good for him and doesn’t want to hurt her.
The eventually succumb to the pent up sexual tension while on what was supposed to be a 15 hour road trip winds up turning into several days due to the storm.
And boy do they enjoy themselves…
What will happen when it’s time for Nate to leave for training? Will he tell Lilly before it’s too late?

This. Was. Amazing. Full of angst and heartache, but the kind I love because it made me care about the characters so deeply, and it showed just how true and real their love was. Normally I shy away from lots of angst, so hear me when I say that Tempted by the Soldier is not at all the annoying kind. It's torturous, but oh so rewarding. Nate, as a former Marine, is experiencing guilt and grief that had my heart constricting for him nonstop. He doesn't think he deserves Lilly, but he's already in so deep. Forced together on a road trip to Hayden and Jace's wedding (characters from the first book), their romance soon turns red hot. They have amazing chemistry - a sort of hate-to-love since Nate has been pushing her away for the last year - that's coupled with a growing tenderness and buried longing. Seeing them finally open up to each other, especially Nate trying to win Lilly's trust, was beyond satisfying. I absolutely loved this short book. The ending was perfect, but I hope we'll get at least another glimpse of them again in the future.

This. Was. Amazing. Full of angst and heartache, but the kind I love because it made me care about the characters so deeply, and it showed just how true and real their love was. Normally I shy away from lots of angst, so hear me when I say that Tempted by the Soldier is not at all the annoying kind. It's torturous, but oh so rewarding. Nate, as a former Marine, is experiencing guilt and grief that had my heart constricting for him nonstop. He doesn't think he deserves Lilly, but he's already in so deep. Forced together on a road trip to Hayden and Jace's wedding (characters from the first book), their romance soon turns red hot. They have amazing chemistry - a sort of hate-to-love since Nate has been pushing her away for the last year - that's coupled with a growing tenderness and buried longing. Seeing them finally open up to each other, especially Nate trying to win Lilly's trust, was beyond satisfying. I absolutely loved this short book. The ending was perfect, but I hope we'll get at least another glimpse of them again in the future.

Lilli still harbors bad feelings for Nate for making her feel like a cheap whore. Nate just avoids her, calling it a favor as he's no good for anyone. Not to mention, he deploys again in two weeks. He's not leaving her behind. Nothing can happen this trip!
Talk about sexual tension....and explosion. Hot damn. It seems these two flip the switch from anger to lust at the drop of a hat and you're left with a steaming e-reader! I love a book with that angsty tug-of-war of emotions.
Can Lilli be the one to make Nate realize he's not at fault for every failure, casualty, death in his life? Can he take a chance at love with the woman he's kept at arm's length the past year? How will she respond to him leaving her AGAIN?

Nicolette Day was a new author for me, so before jumping into Tempted by the Soldier, I read the first (novella) in this Falling for You series. In that, we are introduced to the two Jennings brothers; No Strings Attached is Jace’s story, whilst Tempted by the Soldier is all things Nate.
Lilly Grayson needs to get to her friend & co-worker’s wedding, but the weather has meant that flying is out of the question. Her friend, Hayden, is marrying Jace Jennings, and Hayden has enlisted Nate Jennings' help in driving her friend and wedding photographer on the 15 hour journey. That in itself wouldn’t be so bad, but Lilly & Nate do not talk. Not since they had a one night encounter, which saw Lilly rejected and ostracised by Nate since then. She doesn’t have to be a brain surgeon to work out that the liaison was a mistake..in Nate’s eyes. How on earth was she going to be able to resist the 6ft 3inch mouth watering, private panty-melting Marine, when in such close proximity?
Nate doesn’t communicate with Lilly since that night. Not because he doesn’t want to..he remembers her and her essence of strawberries, but doesn’t feel he deserves her. Nate has some deep rooted issues that have developed out of combat, and aside from the despair he constantly feels, Lilly deserves far more than he could ever be in a position to give.
I adored this story. Lilly and Nate’s journey towards one another was filled with hilarity and steam, as well as tenderness and understanding. I completely fell in love with Nate, more so than his brother, Jace in the previous instalment. It was great to catch up with Jace and Hayden too, and sneak a peek at how their life was unfolding. I found this author’s words captivating, poignant and refreshing, and will definitely be jumping straight into her next production.

3.5 stars. Re-read. Brazen is not working for me as much any more. CR just has too much angst and drama. This book is good, really good, if you like angst. I just don't like it as much anymore.
The hero is tortured and is afflicted with what I call GTFU (Grow the Fuck Up) syndrome. Yes, he was an immature kid running away by joining the military and yes terrible things happened in wartime. But dude, other than the PTSD and military experience, you are a whiner and a coward!!!! He treated the heroine like crap. Multiple times. I wanted her to hold out and not fall for him. But then there would be no book!
The heroine had a horrible childhood. But she made something of herself. Hence, I cannot call her TSTL for falling back into his bed because I admired her. But damn, at times I felt like she was letting down the sisterhood.
So what do the previous 2 paragraphs mean? There was angst! Lots of it! He pushes her away for 70% of the book! That, of course, does not mean there was no sex. This is a Brazen book people! It was pretty hot!
I cried, maybe laughed a little, but then cried even more. The ending was hard, but he groveled pretty well. That I DID like! Thank goodness for the epilogue! If that was not there, the rating would have been much lower.
This is a SECOND CHANCE romance. Normally I would mark it in a second chance shelf. BUT my shelves indicate whether the coupe was celibate or not during their separation (which was about a year long). In this case, we have no idea. It is never discussed or thought about. But my personal belief, based on their feelings, personalities and hang ups, is that I am 99.99% sure the Hero was celibate. Only 75% sure on the heroine. And I am 100% ok with that because he dumped her.

Oh my gosh, I loooooooved this book. Like started it and could not put it down. I already want to read it again, or get more from these two!! Or maybe I shouldn't have sat and read it all in one setting because now it's over too soon. So so good!!! I've been needing something this good for quiet a while but was working on my reading challenge so was sticking to shorter more just good books. Definitely one I would read again for sure!!

I want Nate Jennings!!! Seriously, can I have him now?!
So this book was HOT! and Awesome!!
Lily and Nate had a fling a year ago, it was life changing. Then Nate decided to push her away bc she deserves better than a broken soldier.
She hated him for waking up the next day with a pile of cash on the dresser for a cab ride. They have been fighting since. But you know with all that fighting was some INTENSE sexual feelings.
And now they will be stuck in a truck for a 15 hour drive. Oh dear.
Lily starts off by wearing something that makes Nate have super blue balls.
He punishes her for her naughty writing his number on a bathroom stall in a truck stop by kissing her. Well that went from OH NO to OH HELLS YES BITCH!!!!
Nate fights it and Lily wants to fight it but her body wants what it wants.
Enter some almost sex in a tropical storm in/on the car...
While waiting for their car to get fixed they hit a motel and she tells him she wants him, strips and heads for the shower only to have him come in and ravish her.

So, I’m just gonna say it right up front: I loved this book.

The funny thing is that I almost didn’t read it. Mostly because I hadn’t read the first book in the series, but also because my TBR list is like a hundred miles long. But I’m super glad that Jaime asked me if I wanted to now because holy mother of swoon! This book has everything I love about contemporary romance. And because it’s Brazen, it reads like erotica. What I mean by that is it’s absolutely hot.
I really enjoyed the hero in this one, y’all. Can we talk about Nate for a minute? Because he deserves to be discussed. He is hands-down one of my favorite hero types. An asshole who’s not really an asshole. Well, maybe just a little. He’s definitely done some asshole things where Lilly (our heroine) is concerned. But we find out there’s more to his story. And so much more to him.
These two have a past. One that started with a one night stand, and ended with a really terrible walk of shame. And they don’t like each other. Which we all know is secret code for the fact that they really want to bang each other senseless. PS: I love that secret code.
Mother nature forces them together with a tropical storm and a grounded flight. And that’s where the story takes off.
I loved the back and for the between the two of them. And I really enjoyed the not-so-underlying sexual tension. The author did a really good job of creating sexual chemistry that felt believable. I kept turning pages even though I was tired. Mostly because Nate says stuff like this:
“I want you, Lilly. I want your taste in my mouth. I want you riding my cock. Screaming my name. Begging me for release.”
Yeah.
That.
If you’re looking for a story with a lot of heart and heat – a story about a damaged hero and a brazen heroine, look no further. This is the book for you. It’s a great length. I read most of it in one sitting. And even though it’s a series book, the story definitely can stand on its own. Definitely looking forward to more from Nicolette Day.

Tempting the Soldier was a book I jumped into immediately after finishing No Strings Attached. I was curious about Lily, Hayden's best friend and Nate, Jace's older brother. From the start of the book, it's clear that something happened between the two of them that left Lily heart-broken, so when she is forced to drive with him to Hayden's wedding, she is frustrated and refuses to give in to Nate. Lily was fun main character. She was feisty and fiery and didn't mince her words. Nate, on the other hand, was frustrating. I understood where he was coming from, but that didn't mean it was any less annoying how he would constantly push Lily away in fear of hurting her. Their chemistry was off the charts though! Their make-out scenes? Holy smokes! All in all, this was fun read and I recommend reading it if you're looking for a fun and steamy read!

We met Nate and Lilly in the first book in this series, No Strings Attached,which was a novella. Nate is brother to Jace and Lilly works with Hayden and are really close friends. It’s not necessary to read the first book though .. you just catch a brief glimpse of them in book one. Lilly is snarky, hilarious, fun, gorgeous, and takes no crap off of anyone. She is probably one of my favorite Brazen girls ever.. Ok, although she’s seriously attracted to Nate, she can’t stand him. After a night of some of the best sex of her life, Nate took off the next morning while she was still asleep without a note or a goodbye.. just a wad of cash for the cab ride home. Needless to say, this hurt Lilly and pissed her in a major way. In a perfect world, she’d never have to lay eyes on the sexy soldier again.
Nate…Nate…Nate.. that man is just sin on a stick. So fine, so alpha, and a total jerk. He’s also emotionally wounded. Yep, we’ve got a military man carrying around some baggage from a tragic loss while in battle overseas. His one night with Lily was enough to let him know that if there was ever a woman that could tie him down it would be her. But Nate thinks he’s not good enough for her and he’s too stubborn to take his shot at happiness. He knows it was really crappy the way he left Lily after their one night together but he did what he felt he needed to do…
Well here’s where the fun begins.. Hayden and Jace are getting married.. after a storm coming into the area cancels all flights out..Jace instructs Nate that he needs to drive Lilly up with him. Of course, neither Nate or Lilly are happy about being stuck together in his truck for a 15 hour drive.. Nate just wants to get it over with and Lilly just wants to kill him. Lilly figures though.. since Nate left her high and dry, she’d at least tempt him and show him exactly what he left. She’ll wear her shortest dress and look killer and drive him crazy.. and she does a damn fine job of it.
But a bad storm turns a 15 hour car ride into a much longer drive that means several days and NIGHTS together. The sexual tension was just through the roof with these two..they would fight constantly , but there was always a very high level of attraction that neither could deny. They would fight and then both be so angry that all they wanted to do was rip each others clothes off .. Well.. there’s only so much tension a body can take before they finally explode with some of the best angry sex ever. These two were like fire and ice, but when they hooked up they were totally consumed with each other.. it was HOT.. it was CRAZY HOT.
They realize they are both crazy about each other… but Nate struggles to go of all his baggage and let himself be loved by Lilly. His past still haunts him and he feels like he can't move forward until he fixes, what he feels like, was his failure in the line of duty. Lilly definitely has her work cut out for her with Nate after she realizes he’s not the complete jerk she thought he was. Sure, he’s very opinionated and bossy and can still push all her buttons, but she does the same thing to him. Nate wants to ring her neck one minute and then kiss her silly next. They just can’t keep their hands off each other.
He grabbed her by the hips and roughly sat her on the counter. The spark created by the simple act of him putting his hands on her forced the breath from her lungs. His touch burned her. Branded her. He wedged between her legs and his lips trailed down her throat as he shoved his palms upher thighs. His thumbs swept so close to her center that she almost came. “Oh God…what are we doing?” she gasped. “If you want me to stop, say the word, Princess.” His breath, all lemon and mint, danced over her lips, teasing, tempting. “What do you want from me, Nate?” “I want you, Lilly,” he said again. “I want your taste in my mouth. I love love LOVED seeing these two come together and of course there’s and HEA with an absolutely awesome epilogue. I loved everything about this story from page one until the end and I cannot wait for Nicolette's next book. Don’t let this one pass you up, especially if you are a fan of the Brazen and Entangled publishing titles like me because this book is exactly what most of us love about those books. A great story with lots of steam and an amazing couple that were just made for each other.

I have to start by saying that if you haven't read the novella that came before this full length book, do so before you read Tempted by the Soldier. It will make you enjoy this even more. That said, this book is fantastic. It has everything you want on a romance novel. Wonderful characters, a road trip, snarkiness, hot sex, a wedding, an emotional visit home, more hot sex and a chance to catch up with familiar faces.
I love these two main characters Nate and Lily had me cracking up from the start and at times had me sniffling. The snarky banter between them is hilarious, " Could you get your feet off the dash? I just waxed it." " What a coincidence I just waxed too"
The chemistry is off the charts. They say it's a fine line between love and hate and these two prove it. Despite the verbal sparing, they burn up the sheets. " You've teased me for too long Princess, I'm not going to be satisfied until I hear you beg" " I told you, I'm not begging" Grab a cold glass of water, it gets hot.
When Nate is conned into picking up his soon too be sister-in-law's best friend and wedding photographer on the way to his brothers wedding he does so even though he knows it's going to be a long ride. They had a scorching one night sand a year ago and it didn't end well.
For Lily, this is going to be torture. She is going to be stuck in a cab with Nate. The man who rocked her world then left her cab fare and ran out like his feet were on fire. But she needs to get to the wedding and she's snowed in.

I loved this book and am hoping for another in the series. There are secondary characters screaming for a story, think Lily's best friend Paige. If you are after a book that leave you feeling content after finishing it, then this is it. Even when I was fighting back the tears I still enjoyed it. Plus the scene with the toilet scene and toilet really set me off. You will understand when you read it.
This is an author to add to your auto buy list now, she is going places and you will want to follow.

I love these two main characters Nate and Lily had me cracking up from the start and at times had me sniffling. The snarky banter between them is hilarious, " Could you get your feet off the dash? I just waxed it." " What a coincidence I just waxed too"
The chemistry is off the charts. They say it's a fine line between love and hate and these two prove it. Despite the verbal sparing, they burn up the sheets. " You've teased me for too long Princess, I'm not going to be satisfied until I hear you beg" " I told you, I'm not begging" Grab a cold glass of water, it gets hot.
When Nate is conned into picking up his soon too be sister-in-law's best friend and wedding photographer on the way to his brothers wedding he does so even though he knows it's going to be a long ride. They had a scorching one night sand a year ago and it didn't end well.

I have to say one of the things I love most when reading a book by this publishing house, is that you know it is going to be by a great author and that the book is going to be one that leaves you with that goofy ass smile on your face when it is over.
I loved Jace and Hayden's story in the first book (although it was far to short) but this one, man this one took the cake....
This is a beautiful story about Nate and Lilly. Nate is Jace's older brother who is also a former marine. He escaped a narrowing helicopter accident years before in which all of his team mates died. He carries their death around with him wherever he goes and is unable to forgive himself or let anyone get close to him as he does not think he deserves it.
Lilly is a friend of Hayden's and a photographer. A year ago she spend a wonderful night with Nate until he hurt her by just walking away. Now a year later she has to hitch a ride with him to Jace and Hayden's wedding which is a long 15 hour car ride away.... Of course this is where all the fun begins for these 2 lovebirds.
A broken down car and a severe storm leaves them stranded together in a motel for a night where Nate decides he is done pushing Lilly away. The only problem is he is being re-deployed in 2 weeks time and he has not told Lilly.
Will Nate be able to walk away from Lilly again when all is over and done, and will he finally forgive himself and commit to the one women who has a hold on his heart? Can Lilly forgive him for lying to her again and accept his decision to re-deploy??

Having read No Strings Attached, the novella that prequels Tempted by the Soldier, I had absolutely no hesitation in reading this. Nicolette Day has written an amazing book which unleashed all my emotions. It could be read as a standalone, but personally I'd recommend NSA as there is character crossover.
Fire meets fire where Nate and Lilly are concerned. They slept together once, he legged it afterwards and she's spent 12 months hating his guts. But his brother and her best friend are getting married and the only way Lilly can get to the wedding is by taking a road trip with Nate. A storm is brewing. And it's not just one of the weather variety...
I fell completely in love with them both and their chemistry was sizzling perfection. Lilly is a firecracker, she can hold her own and has a smart mouth but realistic weaknesses. Nate, well there aren't enough adjectives to describe the man. Aside of the fact that he made my heart (& other places) flutter, he is the epitome of a tortured hero. I felt his pain and I wanted to delve into the book and take it all away from him.
Tempted by the Soldier has catapulted itself up there as one of my favourite Brazen books and is the first to reduce me to actual tears. Most definitely a book I recommend.

For a short book, this packed a punch of emotion. And, I must say the sexual tension and sex scenes were sizzling hot. Also liked the sniping between Nate and Lilly. There were also some hilarious parts—something to do with a zipper and hair. Nate was all-alpha male, but he is broken, haunted by what happened during his last deployment—he had the classic case of PTSD. He fought his attraction to Lilly, which led the other to believe that he was merely passing time with her. I wished for a bit more epilogue, but hey, this certainly fit my bill for a late night quick read.

After really enjoying No Strings Attached I couldn't wait to read Nicolette Day's first full length novel Tempted by the Soldier and I have to say it was even better than I'd hoped it would be. I had so much fun reading this book and I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next - she's definitely been added to my list of must read authors! Lilly is Hayden's best friend and Nate is Jace's brother so both characters were around in No Strings Attached but they didn't have a huge amount of page time so we don't know them well before starting this book. Although you can read this as a stand alone novel I would recommend reading the series in order if you can because of this rounds off the previous couple's story really nicely.
Nate is a Marine who was badly injured in a helicopter crash on his last tour of duty, he has recovered physically but he is suffering badly with PTSD and is an emotional wreck. He feels so guilty that he was the only survivor of the accident and he doesn't feel that he deserves to be happy. Lilly is beautiful, feisty and everything he could ever dream of but he is convinced that he isn't good enough for her and he is determined not to get involved in her life. Lilly and Nate shared an incredible night together a year ago and she really thought there was a connection between them, until he walked away from her the morning after and has been pushing her away ever since. She may still be attracted to him but there is no way in hell that she'd ever give him another chance to hurt her like he did before. When circumstances force her into a road trip with Nate she sets out to show him exactly what he walked away from but she's finding it harder to keep him at arm's length than she expected to.
I'm a sucker for a damaged hero and they don't come much more emotionally wounded than Nate so of course it didn't take me long to fall for him. It helps that he's a sexy hunk of alpha male who is ALL about the smouldering looks and flirty banter. His nickname is "Private Panty Melter" and boy does it fit him! I'm amazed that Lilly managed to hold out for as long as she did because their chemistry was off the charts and about to set fire to my kindle. Nate can come across as a bit of an ass at first because he does everything in his power to push her away and that includes saying some quite hurtful things to her. We get to see the story from both character's point of view though so even when he is being an idiot we get to see his thought process and understand why he's acting that way.
Thankfully Lilly isn't a pushover and she totally calls him out on his bad behaviour, she punishes him in some truly fantastic and creative ways and I loved her for that (watch out for the truck stop bathroom scene - I laughed so much I nearly cried!). Lilly is a great character, she is down to earth, modest and a lot of fun and I think she'd be a great friend. Nate is lucky that she is forgiving too because not everyone would take him back after the way he acted initially no matter how irresistible he is. He does have to work to earn her favour and the banter between them is fabulous, neither of them like to lose an argument and they'll do whatever it takes to one up each other which is very amusing to watch.
I expected this to be a light and fluffy read - nothing wrong with that, I enjoy my palette cleanser romances - but I actually ended up with a story that has a lot of heart. These characters are both damaged individuals but they come together and make each other stronger. The story was still a huge amount of fun, full of witty banter and extremely hot sex but the characters also go on a satisfying emotional journey and it left me with a huge smile on my face.

Nicolette Day is going to be the death of me! Her novels are one of my favorites from the brazen collection! They're filled with so much sexual tension, delicious scenes and great romance! Tempted by the Soldier did not disappoint! AHHH I LOVED IT!
Ever since reading the first novella "No Strings Attached" I became addicted to the story and its characters which we get to see again in this one so mega yay! I couldn't wait to read the next book and get some Nate and Lilly! I knew their story would be amazing but still I was surprised (and excited) with how great this book was! I know I'm not making sense here but I'm trying my best! Lol.
Part of the reason I loved their story so much was because at first this was a love/hate relationship. Plus they have sexy history together. They were so sarcastic and mean to each other but you just know that both of them can't wait to tear each other's clothes off. Besides their banter and sexy scenes they also had quite a few of cute and sweet scenes and well that should also give you some idea of how amazing this book was. The chemistry guys, it was just wow.
So overall, read this book!! If you are looking for a sexy but sweet romance this is definitely your read. Plus Nate guys, god he's hot, sexy and yeah perfect.
