This book follows Vivienne's side of the story. Vivienne loves her sister but she has always been resentful of the fact that her parents treated her differently and made sure she knew that she was supposed to to protect her sister Katarina who was going to become the chosen and inherit the great power of the Deshion family coven. So her sister has her ritual to take her rightful place Vivienne decides she needs some time away from her sister and the heavy responsibility that comes along with her. Then she meets Gayleth Angelous and they begin a whirlwind romance and eventually get bound to one another and have children through all of this Vivienne's sister is never far from her mind and when she meets Xavian she decides to introduce him to Katarina. Little did she know the sequence of events she was settling off that would lead to much heartache for herself , her sister and her sister's children. When she finds out Katarinais, pregnant she is happy until her sister finds out about the ritual. Once they know of it she vows to her sister to do anything she can to protect her and her children but will it be enough. Can Vivienne help her sister and be the wife and mother she needs to be? Or will everything fall apart leaving nothing but heartache?
