Do not bother with this book - the author despises people, beekeepers and newbies... There are SO many great books, that encourage a new beekeeper, providing positive do's and don't. This author, while obviously a successful beekeeper having been in the business a long time, he insults the reader/beekeeper by telling them they have a 'mental barrier' (pg 97) when it comes to understanding an apiary concept.
Furthermore, his attitude to honey harvesting is appalling - suggesting that people to do not have enough honey to harvest at the end of the season are incompetent. Nevermind weather constraints or local disease outbreaks!
New beekeepers, read the other books out there, starting with someone like David Cramp or Bill Turnbull!
