Eighteen essays by Eoghan Ó hAnluain including ‘Creidim Fós’ published here as a collection for the
first time. Many of these essays written in the 70's and 80's were published in Comhar and Scríobh,
while those writen in the 90's and since the turn of the century often appeared as chapters in books.
Máirtín Ó Cadhain, Máirtín Ó Direáin, and Seán Ó Ríordáin are discussed in earlier essays and then
reappear again in more recent work. The eclectic mix of themes under
discussion include Seán Mac Mathúna, a number of pieces on poetry of the
eighteenth century - Merriman and Michéal Coimín, a few articles on Dublin
- in contemporary literature and an autobiographical account on hurling,
along with general essays on contemporary poetry influenced particularly
by Eoghan's time as editor of Comhar magazine, Also included are a
number of reviews and a humorous short story.
