Miles is a Sun Scorpio with the heart of a Moon Pisces. She began her publishing journey in 2012, admittedly maybe a little too soon. Her eclectic taste comes through in each book she writes, ranging from soft fantasy romances to dark brooding poetry to serial killers that hold a grudge.

3.4 rating for me.

I mainly bought this because it was the last book in the series, and I already invested three books into this world. While the adventures into many fantasy worlds of the like were great, the overall picture didn't really click with me. Liv needs to save her best friend whose problem (which expanded among the past three books) finally caught up with him. She's still infected with her dragon venom, and yes, she's still refusing to accept it. She wishes to use her own mind and figure things out the way she would've BEFORE the change. I can understand her frustration (really, I CAN UNDERSTAND) but she's fighting a pointless war that's only making things harder for her and if anything, is giving more time to the bad guys to kill more people. If her refusal to use her gifts wasn't maddening, this 'chasing the tail' thing was.

The entire book, they're running into story after story after story, coming across all these problems that lead to more. They take it on in the hopes of then backtracking to save her bff, but what happens? None of them follow through. Instead of all the pages of fights and traveling getting put to better use for the main reason they're doing it, it all gets dismissed and the whole plot shifts over to 'what really was the master plan'. But it wasn't a clever way of hiding it, it was just really annoying! I love the world and people this author created, but I was also here for the story, and seeing them all dragged around wasn't very entertaining, especially with the poor way it all ended. How... anti-climatic.

Pretty disappointed with this series because the first book was such an amazing thing deserving of more than five stars. To see it end this way... I wouldn't recommend this, but since I'm invested and definitely recommend the first book, I'd still check out anything else this author had to write, though only for Liv. I'd really want to see her working with SILC.
