Levi's got it all. He's a paranormal prince with more money and power than he knows what to do with, but something is missing—a mate. He only has until college graduation to find her.
Allie's perfect but she wants nothing to do with him. When attraction becomes something more, will he take a chance and show her who he really is or will he lose everything?

I’d definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys, young adult paranormal romance. This series has been a pleasure to read, with amazing characters, excellent storyline, and continual attention keeping throughout. Love it.
I love dual POV books so after reading 'Flight' and having problems with Levi's decisions I decided that a book/novella from his side would let me know exactly what the hell he was thinking when he did what he did and while I liked getting his POV and his side, the meetings with his family etc I was disappointed when this novella stopped way before the incident in question. So now I'm stuck do I just give up on this, I'm not the target audience, by a long shot, the writing and silly decisions annoy me but for some unfathomable reason I want to know what happens.

I read First by Alyssa Rose Ivy as part of Midnight Surrender anthology. It is a short, quick read, and kinda cute. But it is obviously from the middle of a series, so I was a bit lost. I do like Alyssa Rose Ivy, so I may need to backtrack into this series, which I am sure was the intent.
This is from Levi’s POV. The confidence he exuded in the first books in the series is not represented here. It seemed juvenile. Was not worth the money for me. I do recommend the original series. It was amazing.
It was so great being in Levi's head for half the events of Flight! I wish it was longer, over the other half of Flight, but maybe that's what Forever is? Either way, good story!
Alyssa Rose Ivy's Crescent Chronicles soon became one of my favorite New Adult series, for it's actually a Paranormal New Adult! So very few of those these days. First is Levi's point of view story, from the beginning. Basically book 1, shortened, in Levi's eyes. And while I love this series, I have to say that Levi didn't really win me over in the beginning.
Granted I liked him, but we learn that he wants Allie just as another conquest for him. He isn't keen on settling down or finding his true mate. He wants to have fun. Like any other college boy, for him girls and sex are fun and he wants that kind of fun with Allie. But Allie, isn't too fond of him to begin with. And so, Levi finds himself working extra hard to win her affections, and soon his feelings become genuine.
Really, really liked this one! It's pretty much Levi's whole point of view for the novel up to the point he tells Allie what he is. Which I think is a perfect place to end it. Like with any male point of view story, I was completely wowed by it all. I was leery of Levi in the beginning of Flight, and the beginning of First proved I was right to be so, but as with Flight, I grew to love Levi by the end.
First is definitely worth a read if you've read Flight! In fact, I highly recommend it! Haven't read Flight? Well, good news! You can still read this one. Granted, you'll know all about Levi and what he is, which was a big reveal to Flight, but what's the harm in knowing?
I recevied this book from the author for an honest review.
AHHHH I NEED MORE!!!!!! This is a great little novella into the mind of Levi. If you are a die hard fan of the series you will LOOOVE this! I will say that it was fun to see Levi realize Allie was going to be more then just a bed mate for a night or two. I also loved to see Levi's feisty grandma who KNEW that Levi had met the one...even before he did!! But the scene that really got me was when he taking THAT RING from his parents house...ok fans of the series you totally know what ring i am taking about...EEEK!!!
The only think bad I can say is ...NOT LONG ENOUGH!! I would have KILLEd to me in Levi's mind the night he gives Allie Said ring. I would wanna see him rationalize what he was doing without telling her the ramifications of accepting the ring. Granted, Series Die Hards like me know what happens and all that jazz but still to be in my book boyfriends head for that scene would have been awesome!!
Anyway, this book really only gives us insight to the first few days that Levi and Allie meet. It ends way to soon and before anything really happens with them as a couple but it was a nice reminded to me about what does happen in the book.
i love this series so much and it was great to finally see what Levi thought of Allison "Allie" from the very beginning and to be inside his head! whoa could i fall for him more? i think i just did! ;) i loved the connection Levi felt towards Allie. it wasn't forced, he felt drawn to her and well... wanted to bang her at first but you then he get to know her and just wanted to be with her. i loved how Levi didnt give up and walk away when Aliie "wasn't" interested. He went out of his way to talk to her and made her happy. you got to see how sweet and adorable as wells as sexy the guy is. the banter between them both is funny and light. you feel as if you're there and thats what an author is meant to do so a shout out to Alyssa your one amazing writer! she made it realistic and i've noticied that most authors are starting to do dual points of view which is AWESOME. it was a fun, short and enjoyable read that anyone would be happy with :) Alyssa please consider continuing writing some scenes from Levi's pov but not only from the first but maybe the second or third book?
I'm a little bit conflicted on this one. I enjoyed reading from Eli's perspective and I feel like I'm at a definite disadvantage because I have read Flight yet, this particular novella was a part of an anthology I haven't read anything else in the Crescent Chronicles series yet. That being said, I felt like this novella was more of a teaser than a true novella. I didn't feel like I really had the chance to grasp anything from the story. At some moment it was choppy and while it got me interested enough in the characters to continue with the series I don't feel like the novella could stand on it's own or even really act as a true companion. It just felt like a quick snippet from the male's point of view but didn't really delve any further below the surface than sexual attraction. I have no doubt that I will continue this series at some point but I have read some really amazing companion novella's and novella's that are pre-cursors to the main plot and I just didn't find that this one quite held up to some of the others I have read.
I have always wondered what it was like when cocky Levi's charming ways went unnoticed, well somewhat unnoticed, by Allie we they first met. It had to have been a burn to his high flying ego. And in some ways it was. Poor guy. Never been told no before until Allie. Now he is constantly getting told it from every angle. But he doesn't let that two letter word deter him. In fact, it only makes him try harder.
Great little novella. Only problem for me was that it ended. I needed to see his side of things as things progressed. But I still loved what Ivy gave us and I really cannot complain. It was a fabulous little read and we get Levi. So yeah, things are good and I will take what I can get.
Definitely something you don't want to read first in the series if you have yet to read any of the books. But if you have at least read FLIGHT, then I say get at it. This is just a fun addition to a stellar series. One of my most favorite series ever actually. 5 Feathery Stars!
It was great seeing where Levi and Allie began and in wait for it....LEVI'S POINT OF VIEW!! Anyone who knows me knows I love my Crescent Chronicle men! Levi is still taking the cake in my heart, "oh, I only noticed the one." Had there really been someone else with her?" He's a cocky thing, but we already knew that, "I've got to find her. She might even be worth a second night." Or a third." Even in the beginning he would do anything for Allie, "a wolf? As if she was dealing with something that tame. "Only if you're Red Riding Hood." I'd pretend to be a wolf if it involved her." The man is just horny, "Leviathan. But you can call me whatever you like." Hell, she could call me a wolf if she was doing it in my bed." I hope this is the start of like a little mini-series where we get into his mind more, as his relationship with Allie grows.
If I was not mistaken, this novella fell in the category of new adult since the characters were from 18 years old and above. Levi's (Leviathan) POV was mainly how he met Allie who could be his mate and how he courted/pursued her. In the end, Levi and his circle of friends revealed their true identities to Allie by flying off the building. That was the cliff hanger.
It's a good novella to start a series. However, the author failed to mention who Levi really was. It was just mentioned that he was a prince of secret society and he had set of wings. I could assume he is an angel (but what kind...fallen...guardian?), or I could assume he was a powerful demon. In other words, I would need to read the next installment. Great marketing strategy by the way.
First is a Crescent Chronicles novella by Alyssa Rose Ivy told from Levi's point of view. This book takes place during Flight, Book one, when Levi and Allie first meet. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Levi's mind. It let me know what he was thinking and felt when they first met and how those things started to change and grow as they got to know each other. I really enjoyed his internal monologue as he took his first blows to the ego too. It was good for him. *grins*
First by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
Loved reading in Levi's POV but seriously, I need more!
It was just not enough for me and I wanted more pages and much much much much more words in it. And more Levi and Allie time.
Don't get me wrong but I really enjoyed the novella and I understood that its just a novella and nothing more but the problem was just there at the ending and it wasn't really getting me the vibes that I expected and wanted from the novella but I would seriously reread the novella anytime a for quick read.
It was funny and all the other things that the other primary books had in the series. It's a really fun and great book to read and anyone who is reading the Crescent Chronicles series should definitely read this one because this novella is not to be outlooked upon.
This short story connects with the events of the first book until Levi's revelation to Allie on a rooftop, and the soar to the sky (Soar, very nice, yeah?). Levi's POV will be refreshing, and you will clearly remember each step taken, each dialogue (maybe not, but...), and you will fall for this character a bit more, if you haven't already.
As always with a shorty tale I can't tell much, especially one which you already know what's to come. You can find the whole review and experiment its effects clicking here.
I love reading in the guys point of view! This novella is perfect you get a glimpse into the mind of Levi and see how his feelings for Allie grow into something he was not expecting. I definitely recommend reading the whole series first because there is some information you wouldn't get without reading the last book. Great little piece of Levi.
I love dual POV books and I love Levi. Since I already knew the story it allowed me to really focus on Levi and getting to know him. It helped me to understand the whys and hows of his thought process when first meeting Allie. Loving that he had a connection with Allie and that it wasn't forced, he too felt drawn to her (even though he first saw her as someone to bang for maybe a night or two lol). He is so cocky! Love it!
I love this series! :) and the spinoff series *The Empire Chronicles* :) This short but a sweet book that is in Levi's perspective of when he 1st met Allie :)It was so cool reading all the feelings Levi was having even when he 1st laid eyes on her. I'm so glad Alyssa wrote this. I think it would be cool if was a little longer or even the series was wrote in Levi's words.
3 ½ Stars While I loved reading something from Levi’s point of view, this was way too short. I love re-reading stories from other points of views so I would have loved for this to be a full length. I’d like to know more about how Levi feels for Alison after she discovers and accepts what he is and his thoughts when he first gave her the ring. Way too short!
OH levi I love him, he's. Cocky an is sexy as hell an I love that alyssa did His pov my only problem with it was I didn't want it to end I could have easily read the whole series of books again from his point of. Veiw that's just how good these books are x
Brilliant. Love the book and description of Levi's feelings! But I have to admit that I would really like to read the part of engagement! If he was nervous? What was he thinking? Ooohhh I so wanted to read that!
I enjoyed the Levi novella; very rarely do you get to read a guy’s point of view. Being familiar with the characters made for an easy read and allowed the reader to experience Levi’s feelings throughout the early stages of Allie and Levi’s relationship.
It was okay. Kind of nice to see things from Levi's POV. But it didn't make me like him any more, it kind of made me like him less. He was really overly persistent and way too sure of himself. I don't find that very attractive in a guy, so I didn't care for his character very much.
I love getting the leading male roles' point of view in a story. The perspective change always gives a uniquely different feel to the story. Its like being granted the gift (or curse) of reading your boyfriends mind.
