It’s the 4th of July and the Petectives are feeling the heat! In the midst of a sweltering heat wave, feline detectives Yoshi and Gatsby get word that an old enemy is back and running a protection racket in their neighborhood. When an attack lands Gatsby’s girlfriend in the veterinary hospital, he gets hot under the collar but it may take Yoshi’s cool logic to shut down a gang of animal criminals and clear a dog from a horrible accusation. The Petectives are back and there’s going to be fireworks!

What's not to love about this book? It's a crime novel with cats! Sign me up! Yoshi and Gatsby are two pet detectives who get called in to help local dog squad in clearing a member of an alleged dog attack. At the same time an old enemy shows up and makes trouble for the whole neighborhood. Gatsby is especially not happy when his girlfriend ends up in the vet hospital because of this enemy. Gatsby is the cat who does the leg work and Yoshi is the wise cat who stays inside. These two incidences keep the two of them busy over the 4th of July. I loved this book and I'm sure everyone else will too. There are other Petective books this one can be read as a stand alone. I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

Creative cozy kitty caper!

I have read several petective books and they get better and better. The characters are great and the mysteries keep you guessing. I love the twists and turns .

Cleanly written story. Nothing superfluous, well developed characters and plot. The author has mastered writing.

Oh! And the story was fantastic! Hightly recommend for readers middle-grade and above.

I'll definitely be reading more about Yoshi and Gatsby.

Great Story!

I love these books! I hope there will be more. I enjoy all the characters, from Yoshi and Gatsby to Molasses, the dogs, Chuck, and the rest.
