A great read - the artwork was beautiful, and the story continued to be strong. I liked how all the characters actually felt equally important, not just the trio of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Aquaman was really dynamic in this and some brilliant abilities were revealed (that were new to me at least). And the Joker managed to steal the spotlight during all of his rather brief moments - he appeared the least of all the villains but each panel with him made me smile.
I liked the way the story concluded and had a really good time reading this.

PIKA DEMAIS, QUE HQ MARAVILHOSA!!! A história da liga da justiça toda indo contra os vilões (que também se uniram) é mto brabo. As artes dos heróis são muito lindas, a cada página de batalha que passava eu ficava por um tempo olhando cada detalhe e cada desenho para não perder nada.

Holy s**tballs, Batman! What in the name of The Phantom Stranger went on here!?!
As much as I drooled over the gloriously illustrated work from Alex Ross here (as I always will!), I have to say, this is one of the most convoluted comic books I've ever read - and I've read Crisis On Infinite Earths!
Undoubtedly, part one had a lot going on, but Part Two throws it into fifth gear and comes at you like a direct assault! There's so much happening here - there's a vast amount of characters involved, a ton of dialogue, and the plot flicks and jumps across all of these heroes and villains in a montage of battle scene after battle scene - it's a little exhausting. Or rather akin to eating too much sugar.
Nonetheless, the premise of Justice is definitely a fun one, it's just sadly hampered by its flaws, which makes it a little tricky to focus and follow during these final issues.
Overall, I'm glad I got to experience this. It does feel both nostalgic and darker at the same time, but it really does serve to beg the question - can you have too much of a good thing? I think in this case, you can.

Part of the DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection.
The main story here is the second part of 'Justice', which sees the JLA on the backfoot as an alliance of villains has ousted them by mind-controlling several of its members including Batman, whose secret files have left the JLA's identities and loved-ones vulnerable.
The back-up story, from 1940, shows the first-ever appearance of Captain Marvel, long before the name was co-opted by Marvel or DC (who bought the rights to this version and have now renamed him Shazam).
Now, it's no fault of this book that I haven't read the first part of 'Justice' yet but, as someone who's spent a lifetime picking up random, out-of-sequence comics, I can usually get to grips with an in-progress story pretty quickly. Here, however, the writing is so fragmented that I really struggled to get up to speed with it.
The story jumps between scenes and characters constantly, without explanation and sometimes without the preceding scene even having reached a natural narrative break. It therefore overall comes across as just a bunch of stuff happening and not a cohesive story unfolding.
Alex Ross' gorgeous artwork is therefore this book's best element and its biggest failing.
The images Ross gives us are stunning and the artist wears his Norman Rockwell inspiration on his sleeve. Unfortunately, the images are also quite static in nature and don't do terribly well at actually conveying a narrative in-progress. The fractured nature of the storytelling could easily have been salvaged if the artwork helped to fill in the narrative gaps but instead the pictures just confuse matters further.
The Captain Marvel story from Whiz Comics #2 is about as straightforward, uncomplicated and uninspiring as you'd expect from a comic from 1940, but it has to be said that overall I found it more enjoyable and better illustrated than most of the Superman stories of the same era.

Isso não é vingança Sinestro, é Justiça
Holy Fuck SHIIIIT.
Vou começar apontando o único aspecto que poderia, com muita boa vontade, ser encarado como um ponto negativo dessa HQ, e digo isso já sabendo que ele é completamente engolido pela imensidão de qualidades que essa leitura entrega. São 12 edições no total, com esse volume 2 abrangendo da 6 à 12, e por volta da edição 8 a história já entra em um estado de colisão absoluta, um auge de ação tão intenso que, quando chegamos à edição 11, a sensação é a de estar em uma montanha-russa em queda livre contínua, sem tempo para respirar ou se preparar para o impacto seguinte.
Dito isso, reconheço que pode soar exagerado, afinal, o universo DC é vasto demais para caber por inteiro em qualquer obra, mas a sensação genuína ao ler essa história é a de que toda a “Casa das Lendas” foi convocada para esse evento. Cada personagem que surge é tratado com respeito e propósito, utilizado exatamente como deveria ser, e mesmo com inúmeros núcleos narrativos acontecendo em paralelo, nenhum deles soa menor, descartável ou menos empolgante. Tudo importa, tudo pulsa.
As qualidades dessa obra também se estendem a todos os seus aspectos técnicos. A arte, o enquadramento, o texto, a fluidez da narrativa, absolutamente tudo funciona em harmonia, executado com uma maestria que empolga e tira o fôlego. Não há excesso, não há sobra: cada página parece saber exatamente o peso que carrega.
Esse encadernado representa tudo o que se espera de um grande quadrinho de equipe de super-heróis: ação, emoção, interação genuína entre personagens. Nenhum deles existe à sombra de outro; todos têm suas emoções exploradas, suas contribuições bem definidas e ao menos um momento em que o leitor sente seu apreço por aquele ser fictício ser tocado de forma profunda. Não é à toa que a DC é chamada de “Casa das Lendas”, porque ao terminar uma história como essa, a grandiosidade do que os roteiristas conseguem construir com esse universo envolve, carrega e lembra o leitor do quão monumental esse mundo pode ser.

Second half of the Justice epic by Krueger, and this is the half that the Justice League finally get to fight back. Lots of characters to keep track of, lots of fights to hop between, lots of subterfuge - it's a lot really. It works but it does feel to drag a little towards the end, and for me, as delightfully detailed as Ross artwork always ease, painted artwork generally isn't capable of capturing that dynamic feel that an action packed sequence needs. In other words, as a whole, this is a good read, I just didn't love it and felt in parts like I was slogging through it.

Hal por fin participa, lo de Acuaman me parece terrible, Diana sin duda es la favorita de los dioses y tiene mucha fuerza interna y se habla más de una vez de que sin el ingenio de Batman nadie estaría vivo.
El diseño de las armaduras esta re loco, el de Batman, Wonder Woman y Hawkgirl son mis favoritos.

Aaaand I was right, the second part is not even close to the quality of the first one. Things get wrapped up mostly with the usual superhero tropes, such lost potential.

El final de este comic me dejo un sabor un poco amargo en la boca. La forma en la que resuelven el tema de los gusanos de control mental es super ridícula, no voy a poner que es para no arruinarle la experiencia a nadie, pero, incluso cuando esa solución es hermosamente dibujada por Alex Ross, no tiene absolutamente ningún sentido ni practicidad.
Hablando de Alex Ross, no cabe duda de que es un ilustrador genial, pero las escenas de peleas parecen cuadros estáticos sin movimiento ni emoción, no se ve movimiento y algunas acciones son un poco confusas, lo que hace que el comic sea lento y por momentos aburrido.
En fin, como el primer tomo, es un comic más que nada disfrutable por las hermosas ilustraciones y un par de buenas escenas o frases, pero no mucho más que eso.

E o plano da Legião continua. A Liga precisa se unir agora mais do que nunca. O ponto de vista muda de herói para herói a cada volume... Está nas mãos do Grande Humanitário salvar o último dia da Humanidade. Óbvio que os traços de Ross são os de sempre aqui também - os melhores. O roteiro poderia ser um pouquinho mais elaborado.
Agora, 4 "tradutores" e colocam "Sua câmara...e truques... não VAI te salvar..."? Nunca aprenderam a usar "antes/depois de" + infinitivo...

Como siempre Alex Ross dibuja una barbaridad pero creo que la historia tiene demasiadas subtramas y se pierde la idea original. Una lastima
