So badly I wanted to like these poems, but something is missing. The voice reads as depressed, unemotional, dissociated from feeling, only observing images. There were 2 poems, maybe 3, that really spoke to me because they evoked emotion. Particularly "The Fuge" and "Blue Ridge." But when dealing with terrifying and heart shattering subjects, the poet seemed removed.
