This book was the perfect way to end this awesome series. I loved how the author tied up all the loose ends and made this book the best out of the series in my opinion. I think this might have been the best of the series. In this book we really see Paul go from teenager to man and live up to his potential. I loved the romance the most in this book as Paul and Heather have really evolved into a full fledged amazing super couple. They had such amazing chemistry and worked so well together. I loved how well they meshed with each other and I loved that they got the happily ever after too.

This book had even more action and really showed us why we love these characters as they really held their own and dealt with Dominic. I loved the pace of this book and I didn't think the author could add more action but oh my did she. She made you want to keep reading and not do anything esle which is exactly what I did once I started this book. I was so invested in the characters that I had to know how it all would end for them. I have to say that what happens with Heather is nothing I expected to have happen. The author really threw a great plot twist in there. She shocked me and I felt myself staring in shock at my Nook Color as I processed what I had read. Bravo to the author for shocking me the way she did. I don't think I would have ever guessed that one.

Overall I loved this book and it was a great addition to the series and perfect way to end it all. I like that the author left nothing out on the table so you really felt like all your lingering questions were answered and I finished the book feeling fulfilled and happy with how it all went down. I loved the pace of this book because it was just an intense fast paced read. This book had everything I could want in it and then some. It's been a while since a book has sucked me in so quickly and had me wanting for more. I highly recommend this one.

Mostly Dead

Oh my god.

OH MY GOD. Yes, that needs to be said twice and with capital letters. I cannot believe this story. It’s god knows what time in the morning and I’m mourning the loss of this finished series. Mostly Dead is the final installment in the Barely Alive series and boy did it deliver. I was literally on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn in this book.

Out of all three books not only was this my favorite, but it was the most action packed and had the fastest pace. And holy crap the twists! The last four chapters shocked the hell out of me. This book was full of death, love, friendship, family, and new beginnings. Well, what I like to think is a new beginning.

Heather and Paul are the best. I just want to draw a bunch of pink fluffy hearts around them. There were a few points where Paul wasn’t exactly my favorite person because of some of the choices he made, but everyone was doing what they needed to do to stop Dominic’s army and protect the people they cared about.

I still can’t believe everything that happened. There are so many book series that have you enthralled all throughout the series and then when they end you’re so disappointed you feel cheated, but Mostly Dead is the exact opposite. It wraps everything up is this beautifully crafted bow and even gives us some new information that sets up the short story Viral Intent perfectly!

I’m seriously in awe at how well everything came together and with the ending of the book. I was incredibly satisfied. If you read the last two books in the series and enjoyed them, you will love this book to death. Check it out, you won’t be sorry!

So when I jumped in with this story Paul and Brian are on the road, and Paul is trying to figure out how to get away from Dominic. Dominic is a big reason I wish I had read the other books. He’s in this book quite a bit, but not really in it. Are you picking up what I’m putting down? Anyhow, I think I definitely want to know more about Dominic. But in the meantime, Paul is definitely a slice of interesting with a side of awesome craziness.

This book read wonderfully. I think it is a true attest to Bonnie’s writing skills that I didn’t feel like I was lost, even though this isn’t really a standalone book. I was quickly enamored with the characters, and any questions I had got answered along the way.

This book was full of action. And the zombie storyline is unlike anything I’ve ever read. There’s a bit of romance, and a few sad moments. Dominic is creating more zombies at a crazy rate, Paul is suffering from his own dubbed “superhero” complex, trying to save everyone. People are hearing other people’s thoughts, and it was just a great trip following Paul through this journey. I definitely think this is a book for zombie lovers, especially if you are looking for a new take on it.

Warning: This review is for Book 3 of the series. This review may contain spoilers.

And my journey with Paul and Heather has come to an end, as I believe this is the conclusion of this really interesting series. Filled with my favorite type of villain - zombies - tons of action, gore and a dash of young love... Oh yes, young love. Because folks still fall in love even when zombies shuffle about!

For all intents and purposes, Paul appears to be doomed to a horrible fate. But before he goes he wants to make sure that he does whatever he can to protect the woman he loves, Heather. With allies in tow, they slowly make their way back to familiar territory, trying to beat Dominic there.

Dominic has made it into my top 10 of my most hated literary villains in 2012. He is sadistic, conniving, slimy, nasty, arrogant, and just makes my skin crawl. Please tell me why someone didn't just raise a gun and blow his face in, or put a knife through his eye. There were a couple of scenes in this book when it could have been done. But no one took the step to do it! WHY?? ARRRRGHHHHHHHH

It drove me mental that no one would. I must have sounded like a crazy person muttering to myself while reading when such opportunities were missed. Why just trying to lure him into the fire?? Why sit around concocting such elaborate plans which were possible suicide missions? Oh GOD WHY? Blowing out half his brain I am SURE would have worked! I understand that they had faster healing capabilities, but its not like they were able to regrow their brains!

But then the story would have ended pretty quick huh?

I enjoyed the ending. It was very satisfying. But I must say, if a lesson is to be learned from these three books, people, is that we really overthink things way too much. Usually the solution is staring you in the face, but no one asks the right question... because it would be just too easy!

Enjoyable zombie series with a romantic twist that added a little extra spice to a story that was already intriguing. I enjoyed this journey, and look forward to more of Ms. Paulson's works.

"Mostly Dead" by Bonnie Paulson is the conclusion to the Barely Alive series, and has been an exciting read. Paul when faced with his need to feed more often has to make hard choices in order to protect those he loves. Will he be able to stop the psycho that is Dominic and his evil plan to destroy mankind? Are people really inherently good and able to resist their primal urges or will they all fail to resist the temptation of the flesh?

"Mostly Dead" is an exciting read from beginning to end that will keep you glued to eat until the last line is read! I was so surprised at how when everything is falling apart, then all the pieces click together and start going right. I don't want to give away the ending, but it was surprising yet satisfying.

This book is intense.

And fast paced!

If you loved the first two books in the series you'll love this one just as much. Or maybe more. For me this one was the best in the series. It might be because I knew the characters better, but whatever it was, I loved it from the beginning scene to the end.

The ending surprised me and I don't say that alot. What Heather does and Paul, well I won't spoil it for you, but it's a must read.

Parts of it felt like it could have come out of Walking Dead, which is a compliment, not a detraction. That is just how nail biting and on the edge of my seat I was as I read it. Faaaan-tastic!

And Dominic still proves to be an S.O.B. I guess that's his job and he does it well.

If you like romance, suspense and dark humor, this book is for you

Humorous and light, then dark and freaky! This series is fantastic! I love the spin the author puts on zombies, plus she's made the story so believable it's crazy.

Awesome

The story could end here, but Paulson keeps it alive by letting Connie get away. Is she the new bad "guy"?
