Jessie Evans gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary Southern romances she always wanted to read.
A Southern girl, born and bred, Jessie loves writing romances with just the right amount of sizzle, and hopes you'll enjoy her stories set in the fictional town of Summerville, Georgia.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessie Evans, gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary romances she loves to read.
She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a cottage in the jungle. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.
When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and drifting in and out on the waves, feeling thankful for sun, surf, and lovely people to share them with.

Ratings: Overall ★★★☆☆ Performance ★★★★★ Story ★★★☆☆ What I liked most about this novel… Steamy / Easy-to-read / Entertaining / Action-packed / Updates on a multi-cast of characters / Witty / Romantic / Piper Goodeve’s
What I disliked most about this novel… It ended on a freaking cliffhanger. That blindsided me because the synopsis indicated that the reader would have a wrap up update on the characters already coupled up and an introduction to Lucy and Brandon’s beginning as a couple. The tag at the end of the synopsis literally states;
Come along for the ride as Summerville’s sexiest firefighters and their soul mates take the final steps on the path to happily-ever-after.’
So, while I was prepared for a short and sweet dip back into Summerville, I didn’t think a natural disaster would leave readers hanging. I guess you could say we can assume all would work out for Faith, but we don’t actually get that closure in this novella which is why I reduced my rating to 3 stars overall. I did enjoy the additional time with previously introduced couples, and I’ll probably still go back and read the individual romances that I skipped over in favor of something short as my mood demanded when I read this novella.
Another confusing thing about this series is the retitling the author did. Below I’m listing the series reading order I originally saw on Amazon before it was rebranded as the Fire & Ice series with different book numbering.
Last of the Red Hot Firefighters (Red Hot Reunions Book 1) (Dec 7, 2013) – status: READ! To Tame a Wild Firefighter (Red Hot Reunions Book 2) (Jan 26, 2014) – status: TBR The Bad Boy Firefighter's Secret Fling (Red Hot Reunions Book 3) (Feb 3, 2014) – status: TBR The Firefighter Meets His Match (Red Hot Reunions Book 4) (Feb 3, 2014) – status: READ!
The main draw for this series is the fact that they are narrated by Piper Goodeve, one of my top favorite narrators that I never grow tired of hearing perform.
*sniff* I don't want to think about the fact that this novella is the finale for the Fire and Icing series. I guess I'll just console myself with the fact that it was charming, hot, psychic and kinda perfect...
Maddie's planning Faith's bachelorette party...and Jamison's not happy. Faith's ready to get the night over with and concentrate on happily ever after with Mick. Naomi knows that she needs to be there when the going gets tough for her husband, Jake. And Lucy Bledsoe is about to find out if her psychic ability can save the life of a friend...and help her find love in the arms of one of Summerville's hottest firefighters.
There is a lot of *ahem* action crammed into this super fast read. I mean, action as in bachelorette parties with sexy strippers, drama in the form of missing loved ones and a sweet, sexy love-at-first-kiss story between Lucy and Brandon, which had this reviewer making googly eyes at her Kindle.
But yeah, there's also the other kind of action for these couples that have found (or are on their way to finding) their happily ever after, and damn if it's not enough to make you need a cold shower when all's said and done.
Saving You is over fast (like, grab a cuppa and a cookie and settle in for no more than an hour fast) but the series is one that I suspect I'll think about often and come back to again when I need a pick-me-up. This series, and this final installment, gives me faith that after happily ever after comes...more happily ever after! *Sigh* ~ Beth, 4.5 stars
I thought this was a great little novella with some action and romance. Even without reading the first few books in this series I was able to follow the story and get the character's relationships with each other. But now I'm going to go back and start from the beginning just to get some more info about these hot, alpha men of Summerville.
I love the Fire and Icing series and I love Jessie Evans. Saving You was the perfect way to end this awesome series. We get to see all of our favorites (MICK!) and meet Brandon (YUM). Lucy and Brandon have a connection and it's not just her psychic one. She's afraid of her past and let's that stand in the way of wanting to be with the hot, sweet fireman. Lucy finally decides to take the leap and agree to go out with him, but she has a vision of someone going under water and being swept away and she thinks it's Brandon. One of the Summerville residents is in danger and the whole town comes together to find them! I loved seeing everyone and knowing what going on in their lives. I laughed, cried and cheered! Don't miss this one!
Brandon was on of the newest members of the SFD. He was six-foot one-inch alpha male with broad shoulders, a sharp nose, and earnest manliness practically oozing from his pores.
"I had to act cranky to throw you off the scent. The scent of...manliness."
"I am never going to get tired of this," Mick said. "Having really great sex?" Faith asked. "Having really great sex with my best friend."
Great way to bring all the Summerville firefighters together again, completing the Fire and Icing series. This short novella also introduces the new love relationship between firefighter Brandon and Icings bakery worker Lucy. Their sweetness is a perfect addition to Jake and Naomi growing family, steamy and sexy as always Jamison & Maddie and soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Whitehouse Mick & Faith. Summerville's storm brings them all together as they fight and search for a loved one. Who you ask? Well can't give that away, you will have to read to find out. I promise you won't be disappointed!
I loved the Fire and Icing Series and Saving You added to it beautifully. It gave me an opportunity to revisit characters from the prior novels while getting to know Brandon and Lucy. This was a sweet story with a bit of drama which had me hoping for the HEA I'm always looking for. A terrific ending to this great series. Loved it.
I was so happy with this series and then this book! It ends on a cliffhanger!! 🤬😡🤬 Really! I thought that this was a HEA series but you have no idea if Faith lives or dies if Lucy has her happily ever after or not. The last book was released in 2014 so I don’t think we will ever get answer so if you don’t want to be left hanging with unanswered questions don’t read this series! I don’t normally write reviews but I felt that this book deserved a warning label! 🚫

We are still in Summerville Georgia where the heat is sweltering...inside and out...especially at the Bachelorette Party Faith's friends are throwing for her starring swoon-worthy male strippers.
Lucy Bledsoe is a physic and she works with the firefighters to save one of their own from certain death.
This book winds up the Summerville Fire and Icing series and we watch these men and women take their final steps toward their own happily-ever-afters.
I highly recommend this book as well as the Fire and Icing Series!! Great work Jessie Evans!!
It was so great to have this book as the last book in the Fire and Icing series. I'd never heard of Jessie Evans before Melt with you, the first book in this series. but now she has become a favorite author of mine. This book wrapped up the stories from the other books in this series and I just loved it. Definitely recommend this whole series!
I will never ever be happy at the end of a firemen series....but if it HAS to end, this is the way to do it. Each of the three romances has a final ending along with Lucy finding her way back to love. Its been a bit since I've read the first three so I was a little lost, but it also made me want to go back and reread them ! Great story
I loved every book of this series. Every book had a great meet between two people and an OMG in the middle and a great ending. Can't wait to read more of your books.
A great end to the Fire and Icing series. Lucy's backstory was unexpected and I loved how it worked in with her happily ever after, and any glimpse of Jamison makes any story a winner.
Honestly didn't think this was at the same level as Sweet to you. It did add to some story lines, but don't think it was worth it. It didn't add anything that i thought was really beneficial.
I really enjoyed this series! And I love Jamison with Maddie! Cute Jake and Naomi! Poor Mitch and Faith. And I liked Lucy and Brandon! Loved the conclusion of fire and icing series!!!
I enjoy these stories of a group of friends in a small southern town-what I don't like is the quick novella style! Write a longer story encompassing more details instead of a bunch of short stories.
