Drowning in Rapture

I didn’t plan to become a stripper who performs live sex shows.
But that’s what happened. It’s what I do, and I’m good at it.

I was going to go on and do something with my life. I was going to be something more than just a piece of ass.
But that’s not how it worked it out.

Men don’t control me. Not anymore. Not until my best friend left and he came into my life.

I don’t want lose myself and drown in another man. But I’m afraid it’s already too late.

This book is intended for mature audiences only, due to graphic depictions of sex and bad language.

Drowning In Rapture is the first novella in the Rapture Trilogy

Sometimes you have to do bad things to get what you want.

Jewel/Julia is a stripper, her blue hair and tatted up body bring the club she works for a lot of business. She never thought she'd drop as low as she has, performing live sex show isn't something she's proud of. But with an ailing grandmother, she doesn't have much of a choice.

Enter the Ripper, the first time she heard his name she wanted to laugh, because who in the world calls themselves the Ripper??? Until he made her come just by using a piece of her shirt.

Okay so this book was steamy, and the hero was pure alpha male. He was possessive, dominant and demanding, but you know what? So was the heroine!

YES!!!

I'll be honest and tell you that the big reveal near the end wasn't unexpected, but the absolute craziness of the Ripper definitely was. The aggression, I mean wow, just wow!

So if you're looking for a quick, steamy read with an unconventional heroine, give this novella a try. I definitely enjoyed it!

2.5--Creepy Cole--Stars!

Warning: This Probably Contains Spoilers

I'm sorry but this book made no sense to me at all. I get that it's book one of a trilogy but still. I didn't connect with the story or the characters.

And bottomline Cole aka The Ripper was a CREEP!

Julia....aka Jewel is a stripper.

She became a stripper because "my dad kicked me out of the house for fucking my ex-boyfriend's best friend on the lawn while I was drunk...in the middle of the day."

I guess no one else was hiring.

Jewel meets her BFF Victor while working at Rapture. They are dance partners and work the Rapture X parties together, meaning they have actual sex in front of everyone.

Victor is gay so that makes it okay. The story begins with Victor and his partner moving to NY. So Jewel gets a new partner. The Ripper.

They have some awkward intense chemistry on the stage. And he ends up taking Victor's place at the Rapture parties. He ends up fighting some guys that call Jewel a whore and then preceeds to fuck her while he bleeds all over her.

Julia has this rule that she doesn't date strippers....the "twist" regarding Cole....saw that shit coming. Predictable. Cole isn't who Julia thought he was.....oh no he's worse.

He saw Jewel at a Rapture X party ONE TIME and had to have her. He tries to talk to her but she won't give him the time of day.

So he does what any normal guy would do, he stalks her...

And then OMG...

Thank the dear lord Julia has a little sense left and she does run. But then she has a buiness meeting with Rapture where she discovers....wait for it....yep, you guessed it.

Cole is her new boss!!!!

Cole finally gets his chance to explain everything to Julia, which if possible makes him look WORSE. After spending that one date together he's in love with Julia.

Of course the books ends on a cliffhanger. It's been four months since Julia ran from Creepy McCreeperson and she's been reduced to working at a gas station when in walks Creepy himself.....

And....

Review
I had just finished up Megan’s book Alive and I couldn’t stop singing its’ praises when lo’ and behold…she sends me a message asking if I would mind reading and reviewing her next release.  Mind?? Mind?? What do you think??  I fucking jumped on the chance to read her book and then to find out that she is friends with Kenya Wright (one of my other author heroes).  I couldn’t wait to finish up what I was reading so I could suck this book up!

Was I disappointed?  FUCK NO!!  I didn’t expect anything less from Megan after reading her style of writing after “Alive”.  I DEVOURED this book and just couldn’t put it down while I fought through and survived the 4 degree temperatures just to get outside at work to read more of this story!  Yeah, Megan….I’m a devoted fan! (*wink *wink)

You know what I love about your writing?  Your heroines are FUCKING STRONG AND SASSY!  They stand their ground when they need to.

Why only 4 ½ stars?  It was the ending – My honest opinion is that it could have been drawn out more – through 95% of the book our main characters were anxiously building up to a climax (get your mind out of the gutter) but then it just seemed to lose steam – within 4-5 pages the truth came out (not what I was expecting – totally shocked) and that was it.  I can’t explain it because it would give everything away.

Then we get to the Epilogue and I am right back into the story again!  And the set up for the next book in the series?  Damn…way to go girl – Easy to love cliffhanger and it keeps the story open for the next book!!

Oh and the sex…how the hell could I forget about the sex scenes in this book?  I sure as hell didn’t…they are still planted in my mind….FUCKING HAWT!!

I bow to you Ms. Martin!  You have another winner in my book…..but you know what I was thinking?? Not that it means anything coming from lil’ ole’ me….but I think you and Kenya should do a book together!  With both of your ingenious minds….it would be a FREAKIN’ MASTERPIECE!

Re-Cap
Jewel is the shit when it comes to being a stripper and part of an upper-class sex show.  She rocks the stage and owns it….well that is until her partner/best friend leaves and she is left to perform with a mysterious stripper named “Ripper”.  She doesn’t know what to expect when he walks out on the stage – but wait – she can’t see his face but that doesn’t stop her from experiencing a mind-crashing orgasm without him even touching her.

Yes, meet Ripper (Cole) – he is ALPHA man all the way….built like a sex god and looks to put Adonis to shame and he has his eyes set on Jules.  Jules though has a rule - “No dating other strippers” but her body doesn’t seem to be listening….

That’s all I’m leaving you with about the story….Will Jewel give in?  Who really is Ripper?  Does he have another agenda?

Wrap Up
This is a “Can’t put the book down” read and draws the reader right into the story – the build up is quick and the story flows smoothly.  This is a book to read while curled up when you have a few hours to spare!

4 Holy shit that was hot Stars

Sometimes you have to do bad things to get what you want.

First, let's have a moment of silence for my poor ovaries, please. They put up a good fight, but somewhere around the 16% they spontaneously cumbusted.

Needless to say this book was HOT. But I think you already got that, so let's move on.

That poor vibrating and over-caffeinated pussy in the gif? That would be me, because I stayed up until the butt crack of dawn to finish this book. So let me warn you now, this is one of those books you will want to finish in one sitting. Which is exactly what I did...only to have it end with a cliffy. Now I'm not going to lie, there was bitching, cussing, and maybe even some crying involved when I realized that I will have to wait until Fall of 2014 to get the second book. Was the cliffhanger bad? Not as bad as some of the others I've read, but still I feel it fair to warn you.

Julia/Jewel is not your typical heroine. She's no blushing, virginal ingenue. She's a stripper that performs life sex shows for money, swears like a sailor, has fake boobs, and is the type to revenge fuck her ex-boyfriend's best friend. She doesn't really have much qualms in admitting she's only good at two things; shaking her ass and fucking.

But when her best friend and partner in the live shows leaves for New York for a new job, Jewel is left to dance by herself. Until her manager partners her up with him...the man only knows as The Ripper.

I don't want to give anything away, so I won't give you much more detail than that. You really need to read it to experience it for yourself. What I can tell you is that the sexual chemistry between Jewel and The Ripper was utterly explosive. Their first performance together

I was sucked in. The mystery behind who Cole "The Ripper" was, why he acted the way he did, and knew the things that he did kept me turning the pages well into the night. I just had to know. Of course the smoking hot sex scenes didn't hurt.

But here is where I am a whole lot conflicted in my rating. When we finally find out the truth about Cole...

I had a hard time connecting with it. Now I may be completely on my own here, but it came off almost creepy and stalkerish to me. Not sexy. Then for him to when he did...I don't even know how I felt about that. It was like he went from one extreme to the other, and it threw me off.

That being said, as conflicted as I was with the ending, it didn't manage to take away from my enjoyment of the book. I still enjoyed it thoroughly.

My only BIG problem? THE WAIT UNTIL BOOK 2! Fall? Really?!

2.7 to 3 stars!

I'm in the minority again...*sigh*

I was excited to read this book because the blurb sounded really interesting and I'm looking forward to reading about an unconventional heroine. While I did enjoy the book, there were aspects of it that I just couldn't connect with. But before I get to that, let me get to what I actually liked about it.

One. The story as whole. This is why I took a chance when I was offered an ARC by the author because I loved the whole set-up. Jules/Jewel is a stripper who also performs live sex shows with her best friend, Victor. I was really interested to see how the author will take the story. The story was fast-paced and the plot twist, while I did see it coming from a mile away, I was still shock at the revelation at the end of the book. And since this is just the first book, I'm still looking forward to reading the next book because I really do want to know what happens next.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Second.It was really hot. The voyeuristic and taboo elements just added fuel to fire. Cole/Ripper and Jules were hot together. Their chemistry was fantastic.

That said, the reason why I gave this a three was the inconsistency with the characterization. For example, the main character Jewel. If we go by the blurb, she's definitely one hell of heroine. Someone I could definitely sympathize with. But then I read this around 4% in. This is, by the way, from Jewel's inner monologue.

Victor and I had been best friends since we first met at Rapture, an exclusive strip club in downtown Dallas, Texas. I’d gotten a job there just after turning twenty-one, when my dad kicked me out of the house for fucking my ex boyfriend’s best friend on the lawn while I was drunk… in the middle of the day. Revenge was a card that had screwed me in more ways than one. I’d gotten it, against Kevin, my ex-boyfriend, but I’d also lost everything I’d had to my name.

I understand her need for revenge against her abusive asshole of an ex but her way of exacting revenge was...mind boggling. I can't, for the life of me, understand how fucking your ex's bestfriend on your lawn, in broad daylight, would constitute as revenge. I just don't. Maybe this girl has zero self-preservation, I don't know, but it sounded like a stupid idea to me.

And not only that, her reason for choosing stripping had me shaking my head.

Naturally, I’d had no choice but to turn to stripping. I blamed my dad for the job choice, after all, he was the one who paid for my boob job just after high school. What else was I supposed to do with my life? I wasn’t good at anything but shaking my ass and fucking.

At this point, I'm sorry but I had to roll my eyes. The fact that she blamed her dad for choosing stripping because he paid for her boob job and she wasn't good at anything but shaking her ass and fucking didn't sit well with me. If the intention was for me to feel some sympathy towards her, then it failed because all I felt was annoyance.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Another thing that didn't really work for me was Cole/Ripper. I won't go into the details of what he did because I don't want to spoil the rest of the story for you guys but it was just...ugh! No. Not for me. I like alpha males but what he did and his reason for doing it was so ridiculous and scary at the same time, not to mention creepy. Really, really, creepy. Plus, I really didn't buy his reason for doing it.

And while I could easily overlook those two reasons, being that this book is marketed as dark erotica, what I cannot overlook was the lack of build-up between the character's relationship and the lack of character growth. Whether it's dark, light, angsty or whatever, I still expect my books to have at least some explanation as to why exactly is this guy in lurve with this girl. I'm sorry but 'because my dick got hard' isn't enough reason for me to buy into it. There's gotta be more than just lust for me.

I do hope we get more explanation and character development in the next book though because in spite of the things that I didn't like, the story really has a lot of promise. And that ending...yes, folks, the ending is somewhat cliffhangerish. It's a good cliffhanger ending actually because it makes you want to know more about what happens next.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Anyway, don't let my review discourage you from trying this one. These are just my personal opinions as to why this book failed to wow me. But hey, different strokes for different folks, right. What didn't work for me might end up working for you.

2.5 "SLUTTY" Stars.

Julia is a stripper who dresses up as a mermaid and has sex with her gay BFF in front of people for a ton of money. Her gay BFF is moving with his boyfriend to New York so Julia will have to "perform" with someone else.

Enter Cole/Ripper. He's hot and mysterious and Julia doesn't know him from shit but he has sex with her and she starts falling for him. BAM!

While the plot twist was very predictable some of the other information just creeped me out regarding Cole/Ripper.

This book ended in a cliffhanger but I don't care to read anymore about these two.

Wow ... that was a different read...I thought one thing... and then I thought I knew exactly how this was going to play out.

I thought the lead was just going to roll over and love the guy.... be happy to have him save her etc. Well, Ms. Megan Martin showed me a thing or two.

Now I am hooked to see what will happen next... and see what our little firecracker has up her sleeve... because I was left with a cliffhanger...
And just in case you didn't know.... I am into instant gratification... so I try really hard to read series that are done... But am I sorry I read this....

Hell to the No!
Because this was HOT and I am always up for HOT.
So Ms. Martin... churn out those pages, please because I will be dreaming up all kinds of ideas of what is to come...

“The body is just a tool with base needs.”

Drowning in Rapture was a good read, but not really the story for me. Cole and Julia's story was a unusual at best, I didn't know whether to be turned on or off. I dug Julia's life, how she lived life to the fullest, did what she wanted and had no care what anyone thought, her job's were tastefully erotic, until she gains the attention of the Ripper. When he came on the scene it was hot but in a creepy way. Usually I can think outside the box, and accept things for what it's worth, just couldn't this time around. There is more to their story but not really compelled to read more at this time, maybe later.

If your curious about what I thought was creepy, click on the spoiler below:

I just re-read this for the second time tonight.. And it left me with a big WTF?

So, we have a 23 year old Julia that is some high class stripper who also fukks her co-workers for ten thousand dollars for an hour..while a bunch of rich weird fkkers watch.. Julia was raised by her dad.. ON A FARM.. and when she graduated high school he bought her a pair of tits.. no I am not kidding! But then turns around and daddy kicks her out for having sex on the front lawn.. UM OKAY?

So you bought her some boobies, and thought what? She was going to get what honor role with a new pair?

So, now she has been stripping/fkking for a living with her gay best friend Vic..where thousands of people come and watch.. again UM OKAY? I can't see a gay man doing it to a straight girl and enjoying it, yes ten thousand is a lot of money, but you prefer the back entrance so again..wtf?

Then this new guy named Ripper comes, where is practically creaming her non existent panties just from his voice.. come to find out.. he is no a stripper but a billionaire who has been stalking her for the past two years..oh and he wants her to quit the fucking business because after a weekend spent doing exactly "that" (FKKING) he loves her. And I do mean, LOVES HER. This book is more of a twisted fairy tale than anything else.. Seriously? I give kuddos for originality but everything else? A good dose of Jerry Springer!

Julia’s life wasn’t expected to go this way, but this is how it is. Stripping and Sex. It’s what she is good at. The only thing she thinks she’s good at. But when her bestie and longtime partner decides he’s moving, she’s in for a shock when paired with the mystery new dancer, The Ripper.

Cole “The Ripper” is all sorts of mysterious. As he enters Rapture, as he takes Julie and ultimately as he works his way under her skin. But nothing about Cole is what it seems. Julia has escaped the clutches of a man who demands control once already, is she willing to risk falling for another?

I had picked up Filthy by this author and while I was waiting for the next installment and shamelessly stalking her page for updates I came across the links to this serial series and immediately purchased the entire set. And I could not put it down.

There is something that was just sexy about the way this story was written. It was dirty. Not so much in the talk or the acts... but the story itself. Shameless. Filthy. Julia embraced her inner slut without shame. And Cole was delicious. That perfect mix of mysterious and aggressive. The type of hero that clenches his jaw and has white knuckles while being tempted, while trying to ignore his desire.

I had expected some aspects of this story, the foreshadowing was there, but there was still some unexpected twists that reveal themselves at the very end that had me diving immediately into book two after finishing this one.

A great start to this serial series and for fans of Filthy, who are waiting for the conclusion – this is perfect to tide you over. If you like a fast paced serial read that has a sexual heat, an alpha male and some fantastic chemistry, pick this one up.

“Sometimes you have to do bad things to get what you want.”

I stumbled upon Filthy series by this author a while back and I was IN LOVE with it. In fact, I still am. It's one of those dark, gritty and bleeding stories that fucks you up.
So I was pretty excited for this trilogy by the same author! I mean, strippers and sex ...sign me the hell up 🔥

“I want you to fuck me until there’s nothing left of me. Like it’s the last time you’ll ever fuck anyone.”
A sinister sound tore from his chest. His cock pulsed inside of me and he slammed into me again, nearly knocking the breath from my lungs.

The FMC - Julia Collette
Omg she was such a dirty talking, hardass treat! She is a stripper at Club Rapture and performs with her best friend Victor. However, Victor leaves for New York with his boyfriend Chris to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.
Here enters our MMC, the Ripper. No kidding, that's his stage name.

All the romance novel-ish reactions were going through my body after knowing him as THE RIPPER and their first on-stage scene together......the stomach butterflies, core clenching, heart trying to beat it's way out of my chest. I mean, the intensity of the anticipation inside me was high, higher than a kite.

And this guy delivered....for nearly 90% of the book. I'll come back to this.

The chemistry between the two was panty-melting, the intensity was breath-catching and his chiseled body and god-like beautiful face really didn't help Julia ...or me to avoid him. Also, there's is an 11 year age gap between the two though it doesn't really play any significant part in the plot.

“I like wild animals. Not domesticated ones.” His eyes bore into mine as he spoke, sending a shiver down my spine. He leaned in, laying down his menu. “I like exotic, willful creatures.”
His gaze roamed over my face. My lips parted feeling it like a physical caress.
“You like to break them?” The words were a whisper, slithering between my lips on their own accord. “No.”
“No?” That wasn’t what I expected.
“I don’t have to break something to make it mine.”

The MMC - Cole Maddon

During this whole book, Cole was intense, hard and unyielding with a mysterious aura around him.

However, in the last 10%, he comes out as a classic stalker who "loves" Julia. I guessed it pretty early into the story so I didn't even come as a surprise. One would think, given my proclivity towards the dark and depraved, I would love the dangerous stalker vibe he has going on right?! I thought so too!

But alas, not every hero (or let's say anti-hero) can be a good stalker. That disturbs my peace of mind!🙃

There was desperation in Cole and not of the good kind. Also, his condescension regarding stripping and his double standards totally ruined him in my eyes.
I am giving this book 1 extra star cuz there is another book after this ... so I have hope that he can redeem himself. I really need him too cuz quite frankly, he is getting on my nerves right now. Fingers crossed.

"You just want someone to love you without destroying themselves in the process. A real love that isn’t splattered with memory of her blood.”

I enjoyed it but I can't say I'll recommend it until I read the next book.

A freebie that has hooked me for now. Whats new right? lol
Julia/Jewels is a stripper. Julia also fucks her gay roommate (also a stripper) in front of a crowd one night a month. They both need the money. When her roommate gets a job offer out of state he leaves her. Julia refuses to go because she is taking care of her grandmother. In walks the mysterious guy they call the ripper. He performs with her. She's confused by this and also turned on.
So the story begins with Cole the ripper wanting to get to know Julia.
She doesn't date strippers. But...she finds It hard to stay away from Cole. Even if he some how seems to dodge all of questions.
The ending left me wanting more. Yes I know nothing new! It's a cliffy so be prepared to dive into book 2:-)

1,5 " Worst case of cheesy sentences " Star

Alright. It might be unfair of me to call this book THE worst case of tacky -crappy- sentences, but really, let me give you an example and then you might agree with me:

" A soft knock on the door made my pussy clench. "

What? Really?! If I had one thing to say to this woman, it would be this: I truly, honestly, sympathise with you, walking around 24/7 aroused must be terrible. Because that IS exactly what she has to put up with all throughout the book, I mean, there simply wasn't a single page where her body is not showing signs of arousal. Poor woman, that seems very unfortunate. I shit you not though, this stuff is true:

Exhibit A: " My PERMANENTLY hard nipples pressed at the bejeweled fabric. "

Exhibit B: " The beginning of an orgasm built in my core. What the hell? He hasn't even touched me yet! I tried not to let my surprise on my face. This man had readied my body to cum without even touching me. "

And, honestly, I had much more than just two exhibits.

Anyway, Drowning in Rapture is the story of Jewel, her real name is Julia though, a stripper who performs live sex shows. By that, I mean that she gets paid to have sex with a man in front of an audience. Repeatedly. But she's good at her job, so you know, why not? Right? Right. Well, she used to perform the live shows with her best friend, who's gay AND in a relationship, but he left with his said boyfriend to go live the dream in the Big Apple. Therefore, the show must go one. But Jewel needs a partner. And so IN walks The Ripper. Take his name literally. That's what he does, and he's good at it. Jewel, who thought she had everything in her life under control, realizes that the new sexy tattooed, long haired, sex god she has as a partner seems to be good at taking that control away from her...

" I don’t want to lose myself and drown in another man. But I’m afraid it’s already too late... "

So, like I said before, I DID NOT like the wording in this story. And honestly, I DID NOT like the story either. If you're now wondering why in the hell I gave it 1,5 star, well, it's because EVEN THOUGH I didn't like it, I kept reading, for some reason that I cannot explain.

If I really try to find what that reason might be, I guess it's because of the certain mystery that surrounded The Ripper's character. Not Jewel though, I mean, her character was pretty bland and open about everything, pun intended. But The Ripper totally had something going on for him, and I think that's what kept me reading. Damn it, I wanted to know, ok? I won't lie, he was pretty hot. As sexy as a long haired sex beast can be, if such a thing exists.

All of this being said, I absolutely won't continue this series. I read the first one, and had my fill. It's enough. However, if you're looking for a book with PLENTY of scorching sex, and cheesy sentences don't annoy you, well I'd say you've found the perfect book. The sex was great, I ADMIT IT, alright!? It was pretty good. And the guy was hot. That deserves at least a star.

Anyway, I will read more from Megan D.Martin, and I HOPE that I won't have to get through terrible lines like this book made me suffer through. Please.

I have been on cloud 9 since I picked up this baby #DrowingInRapture By #MeganDMartin and I'm just so happy there is three books in this series because I am NOT READY TO LET THIS COUPLE GO.

This book took me on a crazy ride, it has devoured my life, I went to sleep thinking about it and I would wake up thinking about it. I didn't know what to expect but what I got I could not of asked for more, I would say it has dark elements which had me on the edge, especially the last 10% I was like WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED! In one breath I wanted to slap Cole in the next I just wanted to climb his face.

I can't wait to see how the story unfolds because I feel atm there is no going back for Cole he fucked up.

Cole is SEX. He is waking talking SEX. He is just an ANIMAL and I loved him HARD. From when he was announced as the Ripper and he made his way on that stage I just knew he would melt my panties well soak them even.

So I mentioned stage because my lady Julia aka Jewel is a stripper and let me say she is one SEXY ASS stripper she is fierce, sassy and oh god did I just love everything about her, there is a very vulnerable side to her, that you can see seeping through I can't wait to see more of that side of her, even though the little snippets I did get it broke my heart so much, but she is so brave to be the woman she is now.

I honestly can not get enough of this series!

Ladies Add it. Read it. Devour it.

*2.5 Stars review*

Julia is a 23 year old that works in a club as a Stripper and has aqua-blue hair.

description

Julia is been getting paid, for the past 2 years to perform and have sexual intercourse with her gay male best-friend. She's decided to get in that industry because she has daddy issues.

Cole is a 34 years old aggressive in your face alpha male. He shows up one day when Julia best friend leaves to New York. He becomes her new partner in the club.

The book didn't start on a good note, especially on her reasoning for becoming a stripper. I had my moment of seriously why! To that was pretty hot! To this book was very predictable. I really didn't connect with Julia, I felt like she didn't have any morals what so ever. She was having sex every weekend for past 2 years with her best-friend and getting paid 5k a week. In a scene in the book she says "I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of admitting that I didn’t want to shake my ass for money." But 5k a week at one point if you really want to stop, you have enough money to stop. Throughout the book I was trying to understand Cole reasoning for liking Julia and couldn't keep away C'mon a pretty face can do so much.

Overall it was too short and it just was not for me.

***Megan thanks for my first ARC, sorry it didn't work out.***

Tried reading it, but I found it ridiculous and boring. DNF 60%.
Book 1 is more like a novella.

There’s no character development or build up.
OTT but still bland.
Could care less about anyone in the book.🤷🏻‍♀️
Smut doesn’t move me, emotions do.

————————

self note - too crazy, not for me

spoilers from other peoples reviews

The h is a stripper, and she has sex on stage.

Back story:
Once upon a time, she was a farmers daughter..
But…😑
She got kicked out of her house, when her dad caught her having drunken revenge sex with her ex boyfriends BFF on their lawn - in the middle of the day.😂
Before this, her dad bought her breast implants.🙄
She became a stripper, and has sex with her gay bestfriend on stage.
The gay friend has a boyfriend, so no worries.

The H sees her and its insta lust, but she rejects him.
So what he does is have her gay BFF moved to NY, and
buys the club, and he stars as one of the dancers so he can have sex with her on stage lol.

I like the unusual h, I wont lie, and I almost read it for the h (Thank GOD theres an author who thinks outside of the box, so its not another boring, naive, TSTL, terrible in bed -virgin who remains celibate for 20yrs for the cheating H, while he's out there living his best life with wife and kids), but this H is a total CREEP.

``````````
Reading the spoilers for book 2-3, the H goes back to his ex GF- the ex GF he dumped after seeing the h 2 yrs ago. Now I want spoilers for the future books lol. Because this h apparently ends up working at the gas station in book 2 after leaving the H .
Anyone have safety info for this series?
Hot Damn this book was a quick, sexy ride. Will review after I've had time to process.
ETA: This is a book that is hard to forget. Weeks later, I'm still thinking of little things from the book wondering about the main character, the love interest, the world Megan built in this novel.
All I can say is that if you like STEAMY, dark reads, this is one you HAVE to check out. Not only is the writing fabulous, but Megan just has a way of creating feisty female leads that have me rooting for them the entire time -- even if they aren't always the one I SHOULD be rooting for. There's also these little unique quirks she adds to her characters and the worlds she builds that set her books apart from everything else out there. Drowning in Rapture was a super quick read, I flew through the pages, but even in a short read -- she creates quite the story.
I highly recommend checking out Drowning in Rapture and Megan D. Martin. You might just have a new favorite author to follow :)
5 "PANTY MELTING" Stars
I started this book because I enjoyed this author's other series. I love how she writes.. Dirty, raw, and gritty. I also love how her heroines aren't your traditional goody two shoes. They are who they are- and they don't apologize. At the start of this book I wasn't sure I was gonna like it.. Then BAM before I knew it I was in too deep. Cole AKA the ripper is one hot @$$ mother f'er. The sex in this book is panty melting HOT!!!! I can't wait to dive into book two to see how Julia and Cole's story unravels.
So yuh girl took a break from another book and hopped on to this one. The cover caught my attention.
And I just have to say well done! The book was very descriptive and detailed in EVERY notion, from the stripping to the sex, to the surroundings.
I don't even think I can talk about this book without spoiling it for the next reader to be honest!
Cole is just YUMMY inna not so nice kind of way! His confession in the end had me weak its like WTF are you serious and this girls' entire life has been in his control.
Jewel aka Julia I like her, she's spunky and strong and has survived what could be deemed by some a 'tough life' never the less coming to the end of the book and the circumstances that are revealed to her would turn me into a crazy person if I were in her shoes lol...
But anyways
Ms Martin! Well done!
Can't wait for the next installment!
Another 5 star book, Drowning in Rapture had me enthralled from the start! Right away I could feel the, "Megan D. Martin" style in the writing. There's something about the way Ms. Martin writes that feels genuine; it felt almost like I was reading about 2 real people rather than fictional characters. In addition, Martin is so skilled that I could almost SEE the main characters in my mind while reading. As is also typical, Ms. Martin has created another intriguing cast of characters whose lives are unlike any others I've read about. Luckily, this is just the 1st book in a trilogy. Although I'm itching to find out what's going to happen next, Ms. Martin's book are like rich, expensive chocolates that I want to scarf down in 1 sitting. However, I'm going to restrain myself and savor every morsel, I mean word!
