Today I finished reading Francis Chan's books. It was absolutely the best and most encouraging set of books I have ever read. I highly recommend everyone to take time each day to read these books. The books has helped me to better understand who I am, what I want to do with my life, how to treat others, want to do better, and most of all to dedicate my life to be a follower of Jesus Christ. I need a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and this book helped me more than words can describe. Please read these books, it will be worth the time and effort spent. I have read these books twice and got as much from reading these books the second time as I did the first.
I found Francis Chan's collection to be rather inspiring! Each book, in and of themselves, are worthy of group study to aid and help us in our mission for the mission of Christ and to God's glory! Well worth the time to read and perhaps even to study. I find Francis Chan's presentation style to be very inspiring, his books are really not much different!
He is thorough and his ideas thought provoking and challenging. He presents material that we have all heard a thousand times, but does it in a well researched, humble and new way. While each book focuses on a different topic, they all lead back to one theme. Who is God? What does he want us to do with our lives? And what does he want us to do in the lives of others as a reflection his love for us?
This is written well and easy to read. It challenges without condemning. It has many thought provoking questions that stick with you long after you finish the last page.
I highly recommend these books to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and grow in their faith!
“I’m reading this book by Francis Chan and I learned ...
Probably one of the best modern day teachers I’ve encountered. My friends and Men’s group probably got tired of hearing me say “I’m reading this book by Francis Chan and I learned ...“ & it’s all Biblical accurate from what I’ve seen and fact checked. I know I’ll read Crazy Love again and Forgotten God as well. Forgotten God really gave better understanding of the Holy Spirit and made him a greater part of my life and prayer life. Every single book in this collection is amazing. Worthless if I don’t put it to use though! - James 1:22-25
This collection is only available as e-book as far as I know. The price is about half of what it would cost to buy each book separately. These books are packed with knowledge and insight. Crazy Love is about the relationship between God and people. Forgotten God is about the Holy Spirit. Erasing Hell is about ... Hell. Multiply is about making disciples.
I don't think it too fair for me to review this, as I didn't finish the book because I am not interested in religious self-help books. I didn't realize that it was self-help, I thought it would be more of a spiritual exploration without specific regard to any religion. I am not Christian, so it was increasingly difficult to remain interested. If you're a Christian, you will likely find this book to be of interest or help. The writing is good, I just am not interested in this kind of book, with all due respect.
Just finished Crazy Love. What a book to shake you up, in a good way! Made me see where areas of my life are still dependent on self. Not one of those books where you get convicted and say “wow that was really good” , and change absolutely nothing about yourself. It inspired me to take some immediate action of letting go and doing for others, more then what is comfortable.
I loved the ease of reading. Informative, insightful, refreshing, and energizing. I recommend reading if you want to refocus and prepare your heart to hear God’s word.
