I’ve always known about the Ruppert murders and have heard stories from my parents that grew up in the area at the time. To read this book allowed me to read the facts on the case and feel so uneasy yet fascinated.

Fascinating story and presented in an easy read. Interesting to see the inside view from the prosecuting attorney. Definitely recommend especially to any fellow Hamiltonians.

This was an awesome book. i’ve never read anything quite like it!

Following this book’s murder case was so fascinating in and of itself; but what made it stand out above-and-beyond was the first-hand account from the prosecutor’s journal. to glimpse into the life of a big shot attorney, and his massive personality, as he took on the case of his career, was such a compelling experience. i really felt like i was in Hamilton, experiencing the thrill and tactics of a legal career, right along side the attorneys.

This book recounts the terrible tragedy that happened in Hamilton Ohio on Easter Sunday 1975. The author masterfully toggles between her writings and her father in law’s (John F. Holcomb) manuscript who was the lead prosecutor for the case. While reading the book, you are transported back in time and feel as thought you are there working on the case along with Mr. Holcomb. If you like true crime, this is a must read.

I remember when this happened. It was unfathomable. My friend's aunt lived next door and was friends with the mom and family. She lived with the guilt that she had never heard anything or knew that there was a problem. I knew several of the people mentioned in this book. Some I never knew had been involved with the trial. They don't talk about it. I don't blame them. R.I.P. Ruppert family. You're not forgotten. Your killer is.

You will not regret buying this book! If you’re a fan of true crime, I highly recommend! If you’re thinking about getting into true crime, this is a great start! The way the story is told is so unique with the intertwining of the prosecuting attorney’s firsthand account coupled with the author’s further explanation and context of the trial. Easy five stars!!

My five star review may be a bit biased because I know almost every single person and every location mentioned in this book and of course, I too, am a prosecutor, but this was a really interesting and well-written true crime read.

Interesting book covering the Ruppert murders. About half the book is Holcomb's diary. Quick and easy read.
