The book i just finished reading is called So Super Starry by
Rose Wilkins. This is a fiction book that has the theme is how your
treated when your parents a celebrity.
This book is about how a girl named Octavia from London who's
mom is a d-list celebrity and her dad is director who's gay. Octavia
goes to Darlinham house which is a school for kids who's parents are
celebs. At school Octavia goes by many nicknames like obelisk and
Dave. She gets invited to this gala by an a-lister who goes by India.
India is an aspiring actress. Octavia notices that the real reason why
India invites her is so that she can meet Octavias dad because she
wants to be in one of his films. Octavia goes to the gala and meets
Alex(India's brother). They really like each other and wants to see if
it works out between them and how other people will react to them
being together.
The book to me was interesting just because it shows how
celebrity's lives aren't as dandy as it looks when it comes to personal
matters(in the book). My favorite part in the book is when Octavia's
mom is so happy that her daughter is hanging out with a-listers and
shes coming out of her shell in a way.The book in my opinion wasn't
really that descriptive nor confusing to me. This book relates to
larger issues like how like your life can't always be so perfect and
your going to have to make changes in your life.
I would recommend this book to teenage girls because there's
probably at least one part in this book that they can relate to. this
book is similar to a book I've read called Revenge Of The Wannabes,
because both the books have to do with fitting in,boys and being
wealthy.
Between 1-5 I would rate this book a 3 because it was a good
book overall but it really just didn't relate to me or my life in any
way.

How I Came To Read This Book: I needed something to top up a Chapters order no doubt and threw this $5 piece in.

The Plot: Octavia is the daughter of an American-beloved British sitcom star who attends a snooty British school for other celebrity children. Of course, she doesn't fit in. The book is vaguely about trying to fit in, trying to bond with her mother, and trying to grow up.

The Good & The Bad: This is overall a pretty chintzy book. The characters and plot are boring and pretty one-dimensional and I'm probably mostly pissed off at the fact the author worked at a publishing house and only wrote the book cause she bet she could write something 'better' than most of the slush pile they got in. There isn't much good to say about it, as even the "being independent is cooler than fitting in" message feels artificial.

The Bottom Line: Boring.

Anything Memorable?: My first final book in my 50-book challenges.

50-Book Challenge?: Book #50 in 2007.

If you like YA coming of age stories, this is a great one. The character's very likable and the voice is fun to read. Also, the morals in it are great, which is starting to unusual, sadly. I enjoyed it. A quick read

Octavia has a super-star posh mom, who acts in a popular TV show. Read the book and go through the adventure of arrogant men, family bond, and a boyfriend worth going for.

I absolutely could not stand this book. I haven't read it in almost 10 years and the memory of my hatred for it is far stronger than my memory of the plot.
