Having fallen in love with an unpredictable sculptor, Maria decides to take the plunge and leave her secure boyfriend and their comfortable, desirable flat for a Paddington bedsit with cockroaches, hoping to be free and single for her new 'dream man'. She faces the results of her decision. Will the course of 'true love' reap the rewards of her hopes and dreams, or was she deluded by it and find that the choice of her move would simply lead her to loneliness, despair and heartache?

About the author

Born in Bradford in 1968, Keziah Shepherd grew up in Yorkshire and was much inspired by the Bronte sisters, whose moorland world was a back garden for her. She then studied English Literature at London University before training as an art teacher and setting off for Paris to teach art, do her writing and painting. it is in Paris that she has held most of her art exhibitions in galleries and her writing has been published in Ambit, Raw Vision and Metal among other publications.
