Loyalty and Disloyalty

Rate this book
“Loyalty and Disloyalty” Part of the Loyalty series, Loyalty and Disloyalty deals firmly with the fine line that distinguishes between the two attitudes, and talks about the defining moments we should all be aware of in our own lives, and the lives of those around us.
This book is a roadmap for both leaders and followers. As leaders, we need wisdom to guide our sensitivities. Picking up disloyalty early on in those around us can prevent disaster later. Taking action swiftly and firmly is vital. As followers, we need to be keenly aware when our own loyalty to our shepherds is being diverted within ourselves. Though a primary requirement of God for leaders, very little has been written on this subject. In this book, Dag Heward-Mills outlines very important principles, with the intention of increasing the stability of churches. So relevant and practical is the content of this book that it has become an indispensable tool for many church leaders. "... a life-changing book. I believe your life will be greatly enriched and renewed as you absorb and apply the truth it brings to light. Surely it is God's desire that you become a leader who has purpose, and is consistent in your personal life and ministry. You will not only perceive your need to be a great leader, but you will understand how to achieve it with victory and confidence." – John Delgado, President, Vision International University, Florida, USA. About the Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is the founder of Lighthouse Chapel International, which has become a worldwide denomination. He is the author of several best-selling books and his radio, TV and internet programs reach millions around the world. Other outreaches include conferences for pastors and ministers, and the renowned Anagkazo Bible Ministry & Training Centre.

In light of Plato's allegory of the cave, the heretical teachings presented in this book resemble the shadows projected on the wall—distortions of spiritual reality that keep the listeners captive to illusion, enclosed in doctrinal bubbles and trapped by vain philosophies. The leaders who spread such doctrines assume the role of reflectors, manipulating the light of fragmented truths to sustain a system of deception, in which the faithful are treated as disposable puppets—exactly as the author himself teaches. The only possible way out of this cave of spiritual darkness is the truth revealed in the Holy Scriptures, which liberates, illuminates, and leads to the full revelation of God in Christ—a message faithfully proclaimed only by churches committed to the biblical gospel.

This book is a must-read for every Christian. It lays out the principles to practice and the behaviour to avoid on the path to loyalty. Read it in an attitude of prayer, searching yourself for any thread of disloyalty, and rip out that thread. Disloyalty brings nothing but negative effects to a person's life. I believe that any organization that its people employs the principles laid out in this book is on a good path to longevity. Any person who applies what is written in this book is well on the path to prosperity and favour Easy to do and easy not to do. Choose to do.

I enjoyed this book because of the insight the author has regarding the topic. Also, the various lists are great heuristics to look for when determining a person's level of loyalty, or my own.

I thought the book was best suited for church leaders.

Also, I think that parts of the book might not be as effective with churches in the North American culture since it is written with an African culture in mind. However, there are some cultures within the USA that do seem to share the same issues described by the author.

All-in-all: a good book, an easy read, and one I'll suggest to my ministerial friends.

What a powerful book on loyalty!

Its wtitten for ministers and pastors, but the same signs of disloyalty can be seen in the business world. Managers, supervisors, etc. Can benefit from many of the same concepts found in this book. Many things are obvious, but this book provides a good reminder for the obvious and the less apparent signs of disloyalty.

The book is well written and it's contents are easily digestible - but even a stone can be made easily digestible (once it has been seasoned properly). To me, adhering to the contents of this book makes it difficult, (almost comically so), not to end up with an ill-gaggle that closely mirrors the Trump administration.

This book has a true element in that there is spiritual submission to one another and that there are presbyters (church 'leaders') but the methods it lays out in associating with people is much like that of a secular power structure, which is counter to that of the Kingdom of God.
