Mick Cahilly is a Cliché. An alcoholic cop on the streets of New York, he’s a reputation for somehow solving the strange and unusual cases that no one else would be seen dead trying to tackle. But now a killer has struck at the very heart of America, and before he knows it, Mick’s involved in a case that will see him pushed to his very limits, battling the supernatural in a race against time.
Somehow, at the highest level, an impossible body has been found, in a location nobody could miss. Is it real? Will there be more? And what of the ancient coins that begin to appear?
Mick’s got a secret of his own though, and before he’s finished, everything he’s ever built is going to come crashing down….
Ambitious, funny, and ultimately, hugely uplifting, Cliché is a tale of friendship, hope, and finally, redemption.
“Die Hard meets Charles Bukowski, by way of Ian Rankin”.
Sean Keefe was born and raised in Warrington, Cheshire, and now lives in Preston, where he wanders the country playing musical instruments for a living. To date, he's released three albums, a novel, been the subject of a documentary movie, is the only person to have appeared on Countdown wearing a hat in its 30 year history, and is the only man ever to navigate the 42 mile long Lancaster Canal in a pedalo, playing a concert at every venue along the way.
"Many people sing about wanting to live the "ramblin' man" travelling musician lifestyle, but that is exactly what he has been doing, winning over a devoted audience in the process." - David Rose, Ark Preston.
"Tremendous" - Danny Baker, Radio 5 Live.
"Art in its purest form" - Johnny Vegas, on "Every Home Should Have One".
It took me a few chapters to get int this but by halfway I was wanting more. It loses its way a little at the end, and felt slightly rushed but it's a decent little thriller/noir novel.
