A past president of Romance Writers of America, Shirley began her writing career on a dare. Taking a year to complete her first manuscript, the writing bug bit her and she discovered telling stories of love and adventure was what she wanted to spend her life doing.

Legacy has romance, secrets, sex, suspense and fear in abundance. Hailstock has a great command of her characters—Erika St. James and Michael Lawrence—who, according to the mysterious terms of a Will, must live and work together for a year in order to claim a massive inheritance. Both have suffered in the past and hold their dark secrets close, refusing to trust—or care—again. Their mutual attraction only confuses matters, making them more wary and more vulnerable. For there are outside forces determined to bring them down through trails of money and trails of blood. Can they learn to depend on each other, to trust again, and most important, to love again, before these vicious forces destroy them once and for all? You won’t want to put the novel down until you find out the answers to these compelling questions.

I enjoyed this book. There was mystery, intrigue, romance and danger. The main characters, as well as the supporting characters all had depth and I could really understand each of their personalities.
