At the beginning of the 22nd century, humanity has survived a challenge to its survival and has commenced the task of rebuilding. An elite corps of fallen angels called the Watchful Host remains in the earthly realm to help-but someone is hunting them.

Once the angel Turiel, Tupperman chose to remain in this realm after his mission was completed in order to aid the Watchful Host. When he is framed as the person behind the deaths of the soldiers, Tupperman knows not only that he will be sacrificed next, but that it's time for his final quest. His only clue is a stone, which leads him to New Mexico-and a woman who enchants him completely. Tupperman never counted on finding love, nor that his mission would include a challenge from a dark force and known cheat. Can he save Kara and complete his quest, or will taking Lucifer's wager cost him the woman who has claimed his heart?

Tupperman is being framed for the deaths of the Fallen Angels, to protect them he heads west to complete his final quest. Kara is trying to fulfill her mother's prophecy to find a seer to open the portal on the eclipse and to give birth to a green eyed child. It's a mix of gritty dark, even the good can go bad, taking on a bet with the Devil and good triumphing over evil.

I received this book in the goodreads giveaway.

This was certainly an interesting book and for the first time in forever, I found an angel story that kept me engaged. I liked the plot line and I really liked the world the characters were in. However, I wish the author did just a little bit more world building. The world is like a strange mixture of something from the Victorian era mixed with a futuristic sci-fi world in an apocalyptic state. At least that's how it felt to me and I wish it was something the author elaborated more on. I also didn't get a very good feel for the characters. You got to know their motives more than you actually got to know anything about them and they just altogether felt a little flat.

*SPOILERS*!

I didn't really understand the importance of Kara having a green eyed baby. The whole thing just felt kinda odd. She so desperately wants to have this baby just because her mom foresaw it? She wanted to use that prophesy as a way to make it up to her mom, why? I just didn't feel that connection between her and her mom as to why she felt she so desperately needed to fulfill it. I also felt her decisions and action were really weird. I don't understand how she could just drop all of her suspicions of Tubberman about being an angel. Her reaction to Tubberman admitting he was an angel was even more bizarre. She spoke of hating angels and The Watchful Host so much that I was expecting something like this as her reaction...

Instead she just gets a funny expression but then seems to except him for the most part. It just seemed really odd considering her extreme distrust and hate for angels. Yeah, sure you love the guy, but still. You think there would at least be a little uprising in her emotions.

Mini character rant aside, I really liked the story. It was a nice quick read and despite some of it's character flaws, it was a really good read. I recommend fans of angel check this book out.

Tupperman was introduced in book 1 as Montgomery's boss at the police station. He later was discovered by Montgomery to also be a fallen angel and a point of contact for the angels who take on missions on Earth. From that moment on, he was always present as a secondary character, but he never had his own story. The series started out as a trilogy and when Claire Delacroix republished the series it gave her a chance to tell Tupperman's story in a 4th installment. His story takes place several years after the end of book 3. Hundreds of angels fell at that point and became an army called the Watchful Host and Tupperman decided to remain on Earth for a new mission. He is now the contact between the Watchful Host and his network of spies and sources. At the beginning of this story, 18 Watchful Host soldiers are dead and Tupperman is suspected of being at fault. He takes time off and heads to New Mexico, not realizing that he is being followed and set up to take the fall for all of the deaths. On his train ride from New D.C. to New Mexico, he meets Kara. Kara was in New D.C. in hopes of meeting with the Oracle. She fails and is on her way home disheartened, until she sees that her seat is next to the very attractive Tupperman. Kara was an independent yet vulnerable character. Her character was definitely a perfect match for Tupperman. Their adventure was fun and fast. Overall the book was a very quick read and was easy to get into. The shower scene on the train was just yummy. I liked that she knew what she wanted and went for it, and when she learned the truth about what Tupperman really was she didn't let it stop her from reaching out to him and to what she wants in her life-him. The conflict and villains were exciting and there were a few surprises which helped it to not become predictable. Overall, I enjoyed this series. If I have one tiny beef about how the story ended, it would be that there was no epilogue. It just ended. I would have loved to have seen into the future to their happy ever after. I would have loved to have seen Tupperman as a dad.

The world has gone through cataclysmic changes since Tupperman voluntarily gave up his wings to aid mankind. He and his fallen angel brethren have sacrificed much to save the humans and have received many blessings in return. Four years ago when society came out of the darkness, Tupperman once again chose to stay on earth to help the progress of this new world order and convinced many more to shed their wings to help.
Now he sits on a train bound for New Mexico a fugitive for crimes he didn’t commit journeying to what maybe his last mission when an intriguing woman sits down next to him with a proposition.
Kara’s mission to see the Oracle about fulfilling her people’s prophecy has failed, she’s been literally tossed out on her bottom by the angels who refused to grant her an audience. So she’s boarded the train back home to New Mexico a failure in one mission but as she sits next to a handsome man with the purest green eyes she realizes she may just be able to fulfill another.

Clair Delacroix’s finale to her urban fantasy romance series is fantastic, she’ll take readers down terrifying dark alleys, wide open spaces and fill the air with angelic voices with her always fluent, sometimes frightening and visual narrative. Her selfless hero and determined heroine are perfect for each other and are perfectly portrayed as they dodge bad guys and fall in love. She’ll catch readers up on her co-stars past happenings as she weaves the intricate web of her current Angel tale.
Novels are best read in order for maximum understanding and enjoyment.
Claire you’ve taken me to turret towers, dragons lairs, from the Middle Ages to the present and into the future and you can be sure that wherever you’re bound next my bags are packed. Brava!

Abyss by Claire Delacroix is the last book in this urban fantasy featuring angels. I like this angel series which I found surprising since this is not usually my favorite type of characters. However, the story is one that drew me in so that I couldn’t wait to read more. While I think you can follow the story line without too much trouble, reading the entire series in order would enhance the enjoyment.
Tupperman encounters an enchanting woman on his mission, along with others as the battle goes to a head against the evilest of foes. Quite an exciting ending where we are reminded that each must chose their path; to turn to temptation or to resist. I don’t want to give anything away in this wonderful fantasy that is set in the distant future. It is well worth the time to read it one’s self. Fans of urban fantasy as well as fans of angel fiction will want to start at the beginning of the series, Fallen, and read straight through to Abyss.

Abyss is book 4 in the Prometheus Project, a story where the world is so bleak, angels have volunteered to shed their wings and come to earth in an attempt to aid humanity. In this story, Tupperman, a background character who is also a fallen angel, gets his own chance at love.

Framed for the death of 18 of his fellows, Tupperman takes an unexpected work leave, following a hunch that the Trinitite stone he's carried for years will lead him to his future, facing none other than the ultimate evil, Lucifer. En route, he meets Kara, a Native American woman whose worldviews challenge and intrigue him. Their goals and chemistry clash and mesh perfectly.

The story is fraught with peril, intrigue, and redemption.

I have always loved the historical novels by Claire Delacroix. This urban fantasy series proves that Ms. Delacroix is a writer capable of both breadth and depth to her writing. A resounding 5 star read.

I was gifted this book by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This was a well-written, fast-paced book. This is a futuristic dystopian book set in the 22nd century. Formerly an angel named Turiel, Tupperman has chosen to remain on Earth to help humanity rebuild. He is framed for the murder of another former angel who chose to remain on Earth, and realizes he has a quest to complete. On his quest he meets Kara, who is returning to New Mexico, the same place where Tupperman is headed. They don't know whether they can trust each other but the more time they spend together the more attracted they are. Will Tupperman survive his quest and save Kara? This book can be read as a standalone, though it is the fourth and last in a series with related characters. I loved this series and was sad to come to the end of the story! Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a little bit different spin on "Angels" I thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in a future where the elite? are in congested locations with rules rules rules and those who live on the outside are considered beneath them. A Fallen Angel takes time away to discover where his "task" leads him. On his journey he meets a woman who wants something from him.. Lots of mystery and subterfuge along with a powerful message of caring for those we love, this book touched my heart.

I received a copy in a contest/giveaway.. My review is honest.

This book did a superb job in tying up this series. We finally get to have Tupperman's story who has helped the fallen angels through the previous books. He has been falsely accused of betraying the Watchful Host and is on the run. He meets an intelligent spirited woman on his journey only to experience the truth of humanity. This book was full of hope, compassion and love for humanity. The writing was fast paced and kept you gripped into the story. Excellent read!

This book wraps up the futuristic dystopian world by Claire Delacroix. The whole series of the 4 inter-related books are well worth the read.
