A Bloodeater, Uriel of the Dumes, is on a mission to hunt and destroy the Shadows, creatures that post a bigger threat to Bloodeater society than vampires. On one of the hunts he and his two friends stumble across a group of human vampire hunters. When one of them, Jen, is hurt, he takes care of the girl, never imagining that he would fall for her. But Jen hates vampires, and even though Uriel is not one of them, he is a member of the immortal race who is responsible for the vampires' creation.
The Moon's Reflection series by Ela Lond is possibly one of my favourite group of books at the moment; Lond has cleverly constructed a believable yet fantastical world which jumps off the page and is easy to immerse yourself in.
It is great, in this instance, to see Uriel removed slightly from the core characters that he has always been interwoven with in the past and seeing him 'branch out on his own', as such. The introduction of the new character Jen was also a nice addition; , her vascillation between her feelings is realistic and well written. It's great to see Uriel finally finding a bit of romance after all the unrequited angst of the last few books!
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and can't recommend it enough to anyone who has read the other books -pick it up and give it a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the idea of a story on Uriel leaving the nest and I am glad he got his "Happy ever after". Some great fight scenes but as mentioned in some of the other reviews a better editor would have helped and the strong Vampire Hunter staying a strong would have helped the story become better.
