My Last Resolution

Rate this book
My boyfriend is an asshole.

A pure, one of a kind, I-wish-I-was-making-this-up asshole.

Every year, I write "Dump his ass" as my most important resolution, but I've never done it.

Until now.

Well, kind of ...

Instead of showing up to our "secret" engagement party, I've shown up to the airport--ready and willing to go wherever the next flight is bound. Determined to keep and fulfill all of my resolutions, I'm proud of myself for finally striking out on my own.

Until I never make it to my final destination. Until the sexy stranger who sat next to me on the plane changes everything. Until my "last resolution" is fulfilled a lot earlier than I thought...

This was fucking Hilarious!!!!!
Half the time I was either like this

Seriously folks, just leave everything and read this novella (118 pages to be exact!!), don’t let the size fool you, and it’s packed with humor, sarcasm, witty banters, steamy sex and loads of dirty talking (duh! It’s Whitney!!) Yes! That includes no filter in his mouth-drop dead gorgeous-cocky-alpha male!

I think the blurb covers the outline of this story!

Not convinced yet?? wait for the best part!
“I look like a murderer to you?” He’s smirking.
“No, but since I took my eyes of you for five seconds, you could’ve used that time to drug my drink.”
“You’ve only been able to take eyes off of me for five second?”
“It’s been a while since I’ve talked to anyone outside of my clients and my family, so thought it would be nice to get to know someone new.”
“How sad. I know a therapist if you need one.”

And the best LMAO moment was her new year’s resolution which was modified by Blake (the sexy stranger) No, I won’t say what it is, YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!! My only complaint is that it is to too short for the awesomeness that is the banters, Story is so unrealistic but who cares when I enjoyed so much *winks*

Whitney Gracia Williams : is my second favorite author when it comes to humor, (first is of course Emma chase-have you been inside DREW’s head?!) and I’ll read anything this woman writes. I'm off to check out her other amazing works and luckily there's this new book by her Turbulence coming soon!!

I had this short story on my PC for a while (I got it as a freebie on Whitney's newsletter!) and finally decided to read it. I LOVED IT!

The Layover is so sweet, funny and SO HOT! Whit always delivers greatly on that department ;) I loved the characters and the story, their chemistry and how all of this is developed in such a short format. I really missed having and epilogue or a little bit more of this couple together because they were so beautiful together!

If you are a fan of this talented woman, I highly recommend reading this shortie. You will not regret it!

WOW! What a wonderful read from Whitney G. She is an incredible author that pulls you in right from the first page.
Each character was given their own depth and reality. It is so worth reading. If you have been putting it off, don't.
This was my perfect romance!!

Loved this novella!!! I was seriously laughing my ass off.

Paris has been with her boyfriend Adrien for six years. She wakes up one morning and finally decides

But let's face it, Adrien was a douche!

Paris takes off with no destination in sight. She sneaks out of bed, packs a bag, quits her job and finds the cheapest flight, the furthest away, for the longest amount of time.

On one of her flights, Paris meets Blake! Why oh why can't I meet someone like Blake? Paris and Blake flirt. They had fantastic banter amongst each other. Paris' plane gets grounded in Washington DC and she's forced to stay with Blake.

Paris was quite reluctant at first to Blake's advances.

Blake was pretty awesome. Eventually Paris can't resist his charms and things between them heat up.

This was a really fun read. Great characters, fun story, funny banter and some steam! I can't complain!

This is the second novella in a row I've read by Whitney G. The second one I can't put down. The second one I can't get enough of gaahh!
"Okay, Paris.” He pulls me close and whispers against my lips, “I need you to stop being so f*cking sarcastic. Right now. It’s not having the effect on me that you think it is, and the next time something smart comes out of your sexy ass mouth, I’m going to show you exactly what that effect really is."

Everyone believes Paris Weston’s boyfriend is a catch. So much so that her family is planning a secret engagement party in cahoots with him. But she’s had enough of his lying, egotistical selfishness and instead of breaking up with him face-to-face and giving him the chance to convince her yet again she takes off in the middle of the night to the airport to head anywhere.

Little does she know that she’ll never reach the destination chooses. First because a blizzard grounds her connecting flight. Second because the gorgeous man without a filter who sits next to her is determined to get to know her, help her and sway her to stay with him. After a weeklong layover during which not only do Paris and Blake get to know each other but also fulfill several of her New Year’s resolutions while she stays at Blake’s house. Will she stay with her sexy stranger when flights are no longer grounded Paris?

I think I didn’t move, blink or even breathe once Paris met Blake on the plane. Their back and forth was fast, sassy and fun. For once Whitney’s hero isn’t an arrogant @ssh*le. He’s super sexy and comes on strong but he’s exactly what our sarcastic and jaded heroine needs. He’s also very thoughtful, caring and patient. Even if this is a very short read, he’s made it into my favorite heroes list and I truly hope we’ll get a lot more of him in the future.
“The next few days pass with us following the same routine: We work siting side by side durint the afternoons, and during breaks, he insists on reading me passages from his favorite books. Of course, they’re all erotic novels…”

I love character driven stories like this one where the building relationship between hero and heroine push the story forward. Even though the attraction between them heats up the pages, Paris is literally coming out of a long relationship hence she’s naturally hesitant to start a new one, but Blake’s insistence is not only swoony it’s also sweet and patient.
“… The best part of these days is the end, because for whatever reason, he feels the need to personally escort me to my room. Then he always asks, “Are you sleeping alone?’ ”

We also get to meet Paris’ best friend David who listens to every detail Paris deems to share including sexy ones between her and Blake which were so inappropriate and funny. I also hope we get more of David in future books!
“We need to redefine the lines of our best friend partnership, Paris. This is so out of bounds for appropriate conversation...”
“Blake was down there for a very long time—a very, very long time.”

I will say that the end is a bit abrupt, leaving to the reader’s imagination the opportunity to build a happy ever after of their own or flat out wanting further details about these great characters and their story.

The Layover is a standalone novella by Whitney Gracias Williams. It’s a contemporary romance with sassy and witty banter and deliciously hot sexy times. Told from the heroine’s point of view.

I just finished Whitney G's Turbulence and wanted more. This little novella features Paris, a girl who is fed up with her life and decides to flyaway on the night of her engagement party. On her flight she meets Blake, a sexy, blunt lawyer. Due to weather delays she ends up stuck in Washington, D.C. He offers her a place to stay and the rest is sexy, sweet overload.

I really loved this little novella. It's a quick read, that's funny, super hot and perfectly sweet!

Spoiler-free part:

Quick and cute novella about two people who meet on a plane, then are stuck together during a storm. I love when the MMC chases the FMC but I wish she wasn’t so cold to him.

Spoiler:

I also wished she was the one that chased him at the end instead of walking away. She literally pushed him away until the very last page of the book and even though she said that she knew she made a mistake, it ended too abruptly to see if she had the guts to follow through.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Paris is dating douche bag Adrian, who has told her he plans to propose at their surprise engagement party that is not really a surprise. He's boring and doesn't do anything for her anymore.

She is fed up and decides to fly the coop. She can't marry Adrian and doesn't want anything to do with him anymore.

She goes and gets a plane ticket to Boston since it was under $400. She gets on the plane from Atlanta to Washington and magically winds up in first class. This is where she meets hottie Blake.

Blake comes on pretty strong and at first Paris isn't biting.

But then her plane gets grounded in Washington and she has no where to stay. Luckily for her hottie Blake offers up his place and hIs weiner on a silver platter.

Paris finally gives in and they both get some nice orgasms

And finally they have some sex too!

By then she's done with Adrian and all about Blake.

But eventually their fun times must come to an end and Paris has to go face reality....Will she ever see Blake again?

Can I have a Blake for myself?! I can't believe how perfect he was! I fell in love with this gorgeous, hot lawyer! How will I find a perfect guy in real life, if I keep falling in love with fictional characters?!

This was funny, quick, cute, sexy, entertaining...and I loved it, despite the short number of pages...

And now, I m thinking, I m enjoying Ms Whitney G's novellas quite more than her latest standalone novels...hmmm

Anyhow, I loved it, especially the guy, Blake...sweet Jesus, have mercy, my kinda man 😉😋

Bad, just baaad. I don't really see why this one has such high ratings. It started out good enough but went downhill pretty quickly.

The sexy stranger on the plane wasn't sexy, he was crass. I'm sorry, but if a guy I just met said the crap to me that he was saying to her, he would have been slapped. It wasn't cute or interesting, it was revolting.

I know the intention was to have him be a sexy bad boy, it just wasn't translating for me. There is a way it can be done successfully, but it wasn't achieved here. I just found myself wishing she'd kick him in the crotch and run away. I don't know, it just turned me off completely.

Once said "sexy guy" (I literally finished this novella 5 minutes ago and I can't even remember his name, that shows you how memorable he really was) gets the girl to come and stay with him because of the storm, he proceeds to say a bunch of other repulsive remarks and then the girl is like, this guy is terrible but he's turning me on. Seriously??

Now there are other books out there that have a similar storyline or main male lead that I believe this writer was trying to achieve (Tangled, The Do-Over) where the guy comes off as an a## hole at first but then you fall in love with him later. But in this case it just wasn't successful at all. Like I said before, the things he said to her were too quick and not sexy at all.

Then there are the awkward scenarios that were so blatantly obvious . I'm sorry but the girl in this book is just ridiculous. She has a sexy moment with the guy in his kitchen and he leaves to go shower (yeah right), then she proceeds to call her bff and practically yells into the phone how amazing what he just did was. See where this is going? Yeah, it's not even shocking that he is standing right behind her the whole time listening to her conversation and choosing exactly the most embarrassing moment to let her know he was there. It wasn't fun or funny in that embarrassing way that authors sometimes pull off really effectively, it just made me feel like the girl wasn't very smart.

There just weren't any real relationship building moments that ever made me fall in love with this couple, and I really need that from a story to be successful. I also kept waiting for the moment where she would really stand up to her family and ex and make them really understand where she was coming from. It never happened. The ending note was cute, but that was almost the only thing I really liked about this story. I paid 99¢ for it and I don't even feel like it was worth that. Apparently I'm in the minority here, but I would definitely not recommend this one. Skip!

Stuck in a loveless relationship, Paris finally leaves her fiance. Now on a plane to get away she meets Blake.

The banter is this book had me in a huge grin. For a novella I connected with Paris straight away. Blake was a bit harder to like. He was so blunt and crude . I felt like he was holding back a lot and I didnt know him well enough.

I would recommend this if you've enjoyed the authors other book, Reasonable Doubt. It was fun and flirty. But that ending, is there going to be another book or are we suppose to make up our own ending?!!

Yoksa iyiydi.

description 11. And I still need a number eleven ...

I received an ARC copy for an honest review.

This was my reaction when I finally received it. I have read 2 other books by Whitney and LOVE them, so when I received this I couldn't help but dance.

 photo carlton-dancing-gif_zpsf4389f17.gif

I should have known what I was getting myself into by getting an ARC copy because I thought her other 2 books weren't long enough and this book is a novella. I fell in love with Paris pretty quick and was happy when she decided to finally leave. Adrian must be related to Ryan from Mid Life Love because he's a real ass.

While waiting for her flight to leave here enters dreamy McDreamboat, Blake. Sigh. My heart is going like this the whole time reading about him.

 photo Pw3gBme_zps59afbfc3.gif

Paris keeps her guard up, which is good, Blake is a complete stranger but I just wanted to scream at her and say go for it! Events happen that she is unable to continue with her trip and has to stay with Blake. Just when it start to get good you get hit with:

 photo giphy1_zpsbd56187c.gif

The end!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHH!!

I knew it was a novella going into it but I want more, so much more. I always seem to when reading a really good book.

I loved this novella. My only complaint about it would be I wish it wasn't a novella and a full length novel. I love this author. Her writing always makes me laugh, smile and never fails to draw me into the story. I love her heroines attitude and I love her dialogue. If you have never read this author I am telling you to run do not walk and start with her Mid Life Love series and I guarantee The Last Resolution will not disappoint. All I know is that if she writes it I will buy it, she is just that good. When I finish reading one of her novels I always feel good and have a smile on my face.

I've read all of Whitney G. Williams' books besides The Layover. After finishing it I blamed and cussed myself for not reading it sooner. It was fabulous. Even though it was a short novella the characters were well developed and the story rich. I was hooked from the first page of the prologue. It was interesting and made an impression.

Paris and Blake were funny and strong characters. Both funny and sarcastic. Their dynamic and attraction was spot on. I liked Blake's bluntness, it wasn't too much and didn't feel forced. For some reason it suited him perfectly. I wouldn't want him any other way. Paris was a riot and also a strong woman in her decisions. Her relationship with her friend David was hilarious. Their honesty and openness between one another added more and a different kind of humor to the story.
Blake and Paris together was panty melting hot! Wow! Talk about chemistry.

The writing from Whitney G. Williams was once again flawless and how she ended this story was perfection. I had a big and satisfied grin on my face. I need more books from Williams cause she never disappoints.

This was a cute quickie, definitely worth the read, my only misgiving would be I kind of want more time with Blake and Paris.

Paris is in a relationship that she no longer sees the benefit of. Her boyfriend, soon to be fiancé, is selfish. Their plan to power through his schooling then come back to Paris’ later has fostered his belief that his life and wants are more important than hers. Paris has had enough. She packs a bag, heads for the airport and catches the first flight out she can afford.

Blake just so happens to get the seat next to Paris on her flight. She’s feisty, sarcastic, and he’s attracted to her more than anyone else he’s met in a while. Blake takes the opportunity to ruffle Paris’ feathers a bit by stating exactly how she’s affecting him. Blake is sure he’ll never see Paris again but when her connecting flight is grounded he offers her his extra room to stay in while the storm passes.

Blake and Paris develop a friendship and dance around each other for a while. When they finally come together it’s hot! I was definitely hoping for more Blake and Paris time but she’s due to fly home in a few days. There wasn’t anything overly complex about the characters or the story, it was a sweet enjoyable era with a bit of heat. Check this out if you’re in between reads looking for something quick, sweet and a bit sexy.

My Last Resolution is a short Novella (about 100 pages) that brings us Paris, a woman who sacrificed everything for the guy she thought she was in love with... a guy she thought loved her. But that all changes when she decides to grab what she can and escape.

With no plan in place and a plane ticket in hand, Paris is about to get the surprise of her life when sexy passenger, Blake sits down next to her.

I loved this novella so much. Although a short read, it really did not feel rushed, but rather was filled with quite a bit of story that it felt like you got a full book out of this rather than just a few days.

I was left wanting more though. Blake was a bit mysterious and I wanted to know absolutely everything about him. I wanted to know why he was single, I wanted to know what happened 50 pages after the words The End were typed.

I found Whitney G with the Reasonable Doubt series and became an instant fan. I have loved going back and reading her prior books and look forward to the future stories that she decides to write.

If you are looking for a quick read that is not rushed, characters that are easy to love and a hero that is sure to sweep you off your feet – pick this up now!!!!
