‘In Joodse gezinnen gaat het gesprek aan tafel vaak over geldzaken. Dit in tegenstelling tot veel westerse gezinnen waar geld van oudsher wordt beschouwd als een persoonlijke zaak, ongepast om te bespreken in het openbaar. Maar hoe moet een kind leren als iets verborgen gehouden wordt?’

Deze Joodse schrijver deelt daarom in dit boek heldere en geestelijke principes over geld. Het motiveert, inspireert en bemoedigt!

This was a quick read, really interesting and thought provoking. Quite a different approach to a Biblical view of finance than I have come across before.

A Treasure

The title ‘True Riches’ is apt because the book takes you on a journey of discovery of biblical truths, godly values and mindset, and biblical economics that allow for the acquisition of true riches (a holistic balance between the spiritual, financial, relational and health with the practice of stewardship) and ultimate financial independence.

As one reads the pages, realisation dawns that this book is a part of the powerful testimony of the author’s amazing journey from poverty to wealth.
It is inspiring and leaves one awestruck to see the author achieving and fulfilling his God given purpose through the writing of this book. The evidence of his knowledge of the Bible and the way he fleshes out the subjects in the book’s chapters and contents imparting biblical financial wisdom and understanding is remarkable.

Principles of Tithing and Giving are well taught and explained as is the responsibility of stewardship of our resources, along with clarification of the difference between stewardship and ownership, which is both inspiring and empowering.

The explanation of the difference between the Root versus the Fruit is clear and empowering.
Being faithful in small things setting the foundation for being faithful in much is a vivid example from scripture.
Concepts are based on scripture with quotations and on experience from the extraordinary journey of the author.

This book promotes a holistic approach encompassing spiritual, relationships, health and finance.
It exemplifies addressing issues at the core with empowerment and liberation.
It inspires one to want to acquire wealth, God’s way and to acknowledge that we are blessed to be a blessing.
It challenges one to adapt frugal living and extravagant giving.
It evokes a desire to become a scholar of biblical economics.
The principles for building your financial house are excellent.
Overall, a treasure, to be read, actioned and shared.

The author Jeff Lestz came from a broken background of poverty , drugs and homelessness after losing both his mother and father before he turned 10.

At the age of 15 he had a divine encounter with God which changed the course of his life forever

Miraculously at 31 he was a millionaire.

In his book ‘True riches’ he addresses a lot of misconceptions associated with Christianity and wealth.

He also addresses the importance of including God in all areas of your life including finances which people often feel isn’t necessary.

According to Lestz this makes us stewards of our money rather than the owners, as God is the owner we are just looking after his money and this in turn will help us to take better care of it.

Another way Lestz says we can include God in our finances is through tithing.

This is where you give 10% of the money you make to charity, this will help us become better Christian and through biblical economics which lestz breaks down in the book will lead to gaining more money even though you are giving 10% away.

Through out the book Lestz uses solid biblical evidence to back his points

If you want to become a better steward of your finances

Or what an understanding of what the bible has to say about wealth and attaining riches.

This book is for you!

This was the right book at the right time and in the right circumstances for me. What I love about this book is the fact that it doesn't preach a certain belief: Jewish or Catholic but talks about money in a sensitive yet religious way. A quick but eye opening read. It really influenced the way I look at money and spirituality now. MUST READ!
