A concise theory text that clearly outlines the standard topics in a 2-year theory course (this is part 1 of 2). The book would be better with:
-More context compositionally
-A more practical study of counterpoint as it relates to typical 4 voice textures and modern SB treatments (rather than just dumping Fux light into a few chapters)
-A better discussion of tonal areas (Tonic, Predominant, Dominant, and related functional movement)
-A reworked chapter on chromatic mediants
-Ask me for other particulars
